Not really. It'll only count as one day if you go back 3 months.
Just be sure that your villager pings you about moving and deny them from that, then TT back to the present if you care about them. Unless you don't mind seeing your villagers wonder where you took off, don't TT day to day, 3 days at a time or a week; just skip to the present.

You can wear a Mii helmet. Villagers can move back in, but only after 16 villagers have moved out after them. They won't remember you, even if it's the same copy of that villager.
