Depends on the tank and the tiers present.
As someone in the last thread said, the rule of gold with mediums is staying alive until there are 10 tanks or less in the map. You have to play conservative while the derp heavies are around, because you can't use your best tools as a medium (flanking and good DPM) when the field is full of tanks. Take shots at tracks and guns, whittle down enemy heavies so that your TDs and heavies can get the advantage, and then advance to encircle the other enemy flank from the rear. If the enemy tries to cap in lategame it's your responsability to avoid that too.

I'd bring 4 lights or 2-3 lights and 1-2 VK 30.02DBs - pushing field is what you want to be doing, if there's 3 or 4 heavies you can be really aggressive and get early shots, if there's 2 or 0 heavies try to play vision games because there will be teams that just camp the ridgeline overlooking the field
if they are camping ridgeline, you can either play vision games or retreat back the way you came and attack through the town
if for whatever reason their 4 heavies make it to cap, or you kill 2 lights and the 2 heavies try to cap, split up and attack, its fucking siegfried line so there's no way they can really counterpush lights
