There's a lot of noticeboard quests that ask you to run over to some place and kill a boss. They usually give you quite a lot of money, or items that you can just sell off. "Golden" weapons in particular come to mind.

How can we be sure the ending is what it seems? Arisen is basically a god pre-sudoku, it shouldn't be a stretch of the imagination for him/her to fool pawn into thinking he/she died just so they can live a proper life of their own whilst the cycle goes on.
That's just my take on it though. Either way, pawn is now stuck in your body with your fanboy/girl interested in getting the family life going.

The pawn is partly a reflection of their Arisen, after all, so I wouldn't see it as too odd to say they were almost like two parts of a whole, and they finally join together at game's end.

There's information about stat growth in the sticky but if it's your first time playing through the game you should just play whatever you feel like. Someone else might have a better answer here but if your primary damage stat is magic you should do a couple of sorcerer levels before 100.

the best advice you'll get from literally everyone about what to do on your first play through is just have fun. dont worry about min-maxing till you've gotten the hang of the game.
to help answer your question, i spent most of the game switching between the red and yellow vocations with a few blues in there (not much really, maybe one or two levels) and great cannon spam can wreck shit even without the best magic, just pair it with full moon slash and you're gonna shit orbs like crazy
dont worry about BBI, you're not gonna survive there long at the start, and even if you do, you're probably gonna level up so quick that when you go back to the mainland, you'll be so over leveled the story will be a piece of cake and not that fun imo. BBI is meant to be tackled after you've gotten to theeverfalland gotten some good gear from it

Well, every vocation gets a certain number of stats per level, and the system checks your level + stats to see if that stat combination is possible. IE, 500 magick at Lv 3 is flagged
It's possible that the alt growth mod you used simply swapped some values, resulting in normal stat values for the level. This is usually seen in stuff like rebalances, where you get an optimal spread without swapping vocations every 10 levels
