I started thinking about all of this metagame in order to figure out for myself what a "last game" would need. The end of all could only be achieved by destroying the Triforce, which would also end the cycle.
I really liked the "several versions of the same story" approach Nintendo had before they went with the timeline split. I figured a last Zelda game could be about stories selected from previous games. The main character would have been the "last" Link and the storyteller would have been the not yet decided character that wants to end everything.
After several sessions of magical story telling, the meta plot would be revealed. After the hero realizes what shit his soul went through in previous lives, he decides to end it with a wish to the Triforce, telling it to GTFO for good.

Where's the free will? Altough this might be a way to show how videogames works. In videogames the player has just apperently a free will. Everything is already scripted. It's a meta discussion.

Also, a story where the three "champions" of the goddesses (Ganondorf, Link and Zelda) realize they've been played like a damn fiddle the entire time for the amusement of the goddesses for countless centuries, before the three go off to try to end the cycle and be free of this bullshit would be quite the fun tale to behold. If only to see how assmad the goddesses get and how hard they try to fuck everything over to set the status quo back to normal, just because they're sore losers who never want the "game" to end.

Dimitri is advantageous in Seasons because you can't traverse deep water without him (less so in Ages because Mermaid Suit), but you have to dance like a motherfucker to get his flute before visiting the stretch to Sunken City or else you're locked to Ricky. That's the lowest point in the game for me honestly. Push a bit more and see how you feel going back to Kokiri Forest after you get the master sword, honestly a great moment in the game. This actually got me thinking of something HUGE with the series:
In all three timelines, by the latest titles of each and every timeline, Ganon(dorf) is assumed to be ded and staying that way. In the Adult timeline, Ganon ends up with a sword to the head in Wind Waker. In the Child Timeline, it's a sword to the gut/heart. And in the Defeat Timeline, Ganon got silver arrow'd to death, and no one's around to revive him. In all timelines, Ganon is assumed to be truly gone/ded, no questions asked, by the end of WW, TP/FSA and AoL.
So the question is, what if this actually was a convergance of timelines, with the rage, assmad and so forth of all three Ganons combined into a single being of pure evil and rage that only knows how to destroy? With the right plot elements sprinkled in to hint at such, it'd actually help tie together everything.

There is a crafting system but you can't repair items or weapons.
Plateau is 1% of the game
The actual game will have more runes functions for the Sheikah Slate than those shown in the demo.
You can capture horses and name them.
Some food gives you additional temporary hearts or stamina bar, they're yellow instead of the normal color.
Fire rods, ice arrows, fire arrows are all items you could find in the plateau in the demo.
Items have a rare version with a diamond picture in the description. Probably means more durable than the norm.
You can sleep in beds to restore hearts and choose to wake up at morning, noon or night.

I have a pretty good idea on when this game takes place, pretty confident that I'm right too, was correct on wind waker and TP, everyone already knew SS was the beginning.
This is looking to take place after the hero defeated timeline, even with the korok in the game. Just means the korok exist in this time period too.
We may see the return of the hero of time, if so this will be the biggest shit to hit the fan in a Zelda game that I've seen.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild is also incorporating the theme of technology and a bit of sci-fi. Regarding this, Aonuma shared:
“There is a little bit of a sci-fi element to it. Link basically adventures through a ruined world. I wanted to add technology as the opposite side of that. So do you guys think it's more likely Breath of the Wild takes place in the Adult Timeline or the Decline Timeline? On the Adult Timeline side, we have the Koroks the Old Man's similarities to Daphnes Hyrule, and if you want to be generous, the warped, destroyed land. On the Decline Timeline side, there are the mountains they made such a point of pointing out are from the original LoZ's artwork, the Old Man as a guide as a parallel to the original's Old Man, the fact they are emphasizing in so many ways how they're trying to reach back to the roots of the original LoZ, and that the Old Man talks about the "decline of the kingdom."
I want it to be in the Adult Timeline, for one. Partly because the idea of the Decline Timeline just doesn't sit right with me, partly because I could see some cool stuff down the line should Hyrule have risen back out of the Great Sea. Regardless, if it's not in the Decline Timeline, I would definitely predict some timeline redistribution down the line. They've tried too hard to emulate the concepts of the original Legend of Zelda to not put it and Breath of the Wild in the same timeline.

Wind Waker Link also used the Master Sword despite allegedly being the same age as OoT Link was when he was sealed in the Sacred Realm for being too young to be the Hero.
Ganondorf straight out says he's the Hero of Time reborn. This was literally the first time in the series that this notion was even put forward. Before Wind Waker the biggest time line argument was whether there was 1 or 3 Links.
You're also being a little rule bendy here. Tower of the Gods was a trial to test the worthiness of someone wielding the Master Sword. TP Link was also tested, though admittedly in a much weaker way.
One last thing, if the "soul of the hero" isn't a reincarnation/connection thing, then NONE of the heroes are "predestined" so WW Link isn't special at all.

I heard an interesting Majora's Mask theory a few days ago, which basically goes "Majora isn't evil, he's just trying to get revenge on the Fierce Diety for killing him (assuming the manga is canon or reflects Majora's original fate in the canon). He finds Link, CREATES Termina as a mirror of Link's world so he'll feel more empathetic and aspire to save them, then once Link has bested all the trials of the world (beaten all the dungeons and gotten all the masks), Majora gives him the Fierce Diety's Mask (called the Oni or "Demon" mask in Japan, fitting since Majora would view his murderer as a demon) and the final battle being between Fierce Diety Link and Majora is the canon ending. Notably, at the end of the game when the Happy Mask Salesman comments that the evil has left the mask, it is also assumed that the Fierce Diety Mask is in Link's possession, thus having "left" the mask.
So to tie to your question, the theory states Termina is a fake world created by Majora to test if Link would be a worthy opponent.

In a sense, it increases the purpose of each game, because the outcome of the games should influence the world. With no Goddess game theory, the decline line is a simple what-if. I didn't like that approach that Farore is any lesser than Din or Nayru, so I didn't pay it much mind yesterday. I don't know who introduced that. I think I dismissed that part because it makes no sense and served me nothing. Looking at it from the Goddess Game perspective, Farore's guy almost ALWAYS wins. The big guardians outside of the Shrines have a sort of purple-pink glow to them, which is in contrast to the "normal" Shiekah colours of orange or blue. Ganon, on the other hand, has the same purple-pink colour that can be seen around the castle. This is somewhat reinforced by the orange glow of the smaller guardians in the shrines.
It could be that Ganon managed to corrupt the Guardians somehow, or even that there was a schism in the Shiekah with one part defecting to Ganon's side, bringing the Guardians with them.

Why can't the controller scheme be more like DaS?
I mean you could put R1 to attack and R2 for Arrows, L1 for shield and L2 for parries.
Y for Jump L+Y for Climb, X for throw weapon, A for Dash/rolls B for Actions
You'd target stuff with R3 if close enough, otherwise it defaults to telescopic view.

1. Adult link defeats ganon - goes back in time thanks to zelda - ganon shows up again but no link so flood
2. Adult link goes back in time to change something - no adult link so ganon just does his shitI mean sure Link went back and forth a lot of times in OoT but in the end Nintendo decided to split the timeline only 3 times
3. Child link gets ganon jailed - goes to termina - dies - teaches new link stuff when ganon shows up

Do we know if they're going to be implementing the stuff they had in WWHD and TPHD where the maps are on the gamepad and inventory is in realtime when you mess with it, or is it just going to be another mirroring of the main screen on it? It would be a real shame if they dropped that as opening maps and the realtime menu on the gamepad were wonderful additions(Though it would be tougher for realtime inventory on the gamepad in this one at least).

Depends if you mind some of the changes like making things generally lighter in the remakes. MM also had a handful of gameplay changes, most of which weren't exactly for the better. MM3D was my first time playing the actual game to completion(We only owned OoT for the longest time) so I can tell you that the Zora swimming consuming magic and needing to build momentum for Deku bouncing are awful things. There are some quality of life improvements here and there, and the framerate is better, so it's really up to you to decide which one you want to play more.

I quite enjoy the lighter changes even if it kinda ruins the ending of OoT. The general texture upgrade is really nice to look at, especially in the dungeons, and they added way more detail in general, but it's understandable that people don't like it. The quality of life improvements in just the gyroscope aiming and realtime boot changing was also really nice, it made the Water Temple much less aggravating due to not needing to pause anymore, and having a dedicated Ocarina button is a wonderful thing.

MM3D was just on sale for $20 or something in the Nintendo store. I bought it from that and I've been playing it nonstop this week, but I'm pretty sure the sale is over by now.
There were some weird changes in boss battles and quests I didn't like, but the rest of the game made up for it. The graphics are nice, the controls are cleaned up, and the Bomber's Notebook new features make it way easier to keep track of events.
My biggest problem with it (and all 3ds games really) is the tiny screen. I miss playing MM on a giant tv where I didn't have to squint all the time.

Literally the only game to bother me on that front is Hyrule Warriors. All the text is so small. But with Majora's Mask, turning the 3D on sucks me right into the game and I forget I'm on handheld. OoT doesn't feel quite as much that way, but maybe it's just because I played it so much as a kid.

They should try and get something like an older, WELL-OPTIMIZED Call of Duty as one of the games bundled with the NX on purchase. It'll get people to start saying "well, why NOT play it a bit," which could lead to a market opening on the console.
