Guys how does supply work in Hoi4? I was playing the obligatory Germany game, and I kept getting a lot of expeditions from the rest of the axis to the point where my eastern army had over 500 divisions alone and I kept having massive supply problems, making the battle very boring because I had just too many guys to fail but they couldn't get proper supplies to take land at anything other than a snail's pace. I won out eventually but I could never figure out how supply works in order to solve it.
the game got very boring because it was so slow until towards a certain point in between Kiev and Stalingrad where the Soviets just seemed to lose a lot of divisions so I could just take my mass of men and human wave to cities with little effective resistance.

The divisions are mostly sourced from the starting OOB, so there is a lot of infantry and cavalry. Some medium armoured divisions, with MARM-MOT-MOT-truckartillery

If I were you I'd try to coup Yugoslavia and Bulgaria and then align them to Comintern. Since you're the almighty SU you can do this in a matter of 6 months. Obviously they're not that useful but the Germans will need to divert at least a few divisions to deal with them, making the job slightly easier for you.
Also don't forget to pack up TD and AT brigades and attach AA brigades to your HQs unless you want to get blitzkriegd on.

Factories won't be profitable until you're getting through the Industry techs, but if you can afford it it's good to get craftsmen early so you get as many as possible.
That said, don't encourage them over bureaucrats or clergymen/intellectuals until you have decent literacy.
