Sumire needs it anyway. Cross and Sparkle are fixed at 5 orbs so most of the time cascading into them is asking to be wrecked.
On top of it unlike Kaede who does mind blowing damage even with random matches if you fuck up and don't prong all of them, for Sumire in order to not be reliant on a burst I usually have to make 1 row too.
I had much less trouble with A. Sakuya, Ace or even Robin back in the day. Maybe it will change once I've been using her for months.

Personally I don't think the choice is so obvious. I think the l/l form has a less restrictive leader skill which also stacks better with its awakenings (3 light enhance). It also won't need to worry about HP, and even becomes a somewhat tanky team with its RCV multi. Granted, you don't need damage enhancers (rows, oe, even prongs) with a 110x multi.
Both Iza's get a CD buff, so their x2 to gods is now on a tiny 7 turn CD. I think this skill is overkill for l/d with a 110x multi potential, and helps much more with the l/l version whose multi caps at 25x.
I'm probably going to go with the l/l version, personally. I'd rather not play around with that 80% HP requirement.

I already made mine L/D and generally don't expect to use him. If I played Ra Dragon he'd be a nice alternative for the double SLR slot though.
L/L Izanagi is kind of a budget Skuld/Yomi Dragon and I already run both of them so he isn't that appealing. It's awesome what they did for him though and the buffs really were deserved. There are so many old gods that need this treatment.

This is the other guy I'm excited for. A 25x dark rows lead.
He's not topfaf damage levels, but with the inclusion of dragons, his sub pool opens up tremendously. His active is way better than Fafnir's too, which somewhat makes up for the lower damage.
The x2/x4 RCV is nice too.

Light one is just for tossing a bunch of +297 in to farm easy stuff. Too bad there's no bamboo equivalent for light, but you can pair with light escha for the better active.
Dark one has a high multiplier but requires a bunch of orbs and 80%+ hp. The nice thing is that it's going to let my co-op only alt do easy farming.
With 7 turn CD and a reasonably useful active I can see putting a delay or something on him.
