There's not a single thing in vanilla that hasn't been improved upon in the current version of the game. PvP is better PvE is better, and the most boring part of the game is much shorter and can even be skipped entirely altogether.

check the kronos DB for the exact spawns. Once you get them down you can get anywhere from 20-40 mithril per 20 minutes
