>OVERCASTING SPELLS
Double click a spell (it needs to be a boostable spell and you need to have enough magic in the magic pool) to overcast the spell
There's a 50% chance that the caster damages itself though!
>QUEST BATTLE TELEPORT
Select your lord (make sure he isn't garrisoned or in a stance)
Select the quest battle (on the map or through quest log)
There's a button in the bottom right of the quest battle window that you can use to teleport for 5k gold (when the battle's finished you're automatically teleported back to your original position)
>GROUP ATTACK
Group units with ctrl + g
Select your group and right click the enemy
All your units move and automatically direct themselves to and engage enemies they get close to while maintaining formation

And those fags are actually trying to force their shit meme
Good job /twg/
CA put your ass in charge of deciding the next setting for Total War. What setting?
last thread died, no news from CA, not even some foot notes on the patches.
People are losing interest. Can TW:W bounce back from this?
>>145975895
Rome 2 drew in all the newfaggots 2bh. The kind of people that might have touched a few total war games prior to Rome 2 and keep going on about "REMEMBER ROME 2". They experienced the Rome 2 shitstorm and call themselves Total War veterans.

>>145977798
>GW
For what purpose?
>>145977798
>Ironbreakers
yeah.
Been playing Chaos Warriors. Going alright but it's reminding me how shit I am at chariots. Couldn't figure them out in Rome either.
So how the fuck do Chariots work in these games? How do you use them right? They keep getting stuck in melee and having their asses kicked. It's confusing me.
For that matter, what are the rules governing peeling a unit out of melee in general? When I try to get my cavalry out of melee they tend to have a few members get stuck.
>>145977282
We've got an entire trilogy coming mate, plus that massive FreeLC cycle and the Lord Packs/Campign packs and everything else.

>>145978094
Chariots suck, end of story
>>145978667
That's quite a specific claim, what is your evidence for this?
The last thread had 184 unique ip's, in the post-Attila /twg/ it was around 70/50 by the time the thread died.
>>145978094
Chariots are micro heavy, the trick is to keep giving move orders through units right after the charge so they can bull through
>>145976153
In order of preference:
>age of discovery
>empire 2
>bronze age
>>145978824
heh
>>145978878
I was kind of figuring it was a micro heavy thing. So is part of my issue that my orders are letting it lose momentum? So it's getting stuck in the middle of an enemy unit?
I've tried giving it a move order through but not a charge followed by a move order. I'll try that out.
>>145976153

>>145979036

>>145978872
This doesn't mean shit and you know it.
Before it used to be 70 people actually posting content, sharing campaigns and discussing them
Now it's 184 people shitposting or posting once in the thread, and most of the time the post is unrelated shitjust like I'm doing now
>>145979301
That's not the point we were discussing. My argument was that /twg/ is more popular, which you disagreed with me on.
Now you're saying that me proving the original point doesn't count, because the popularity resulted in decreased quality.
I'm currently rank 311 on the ladder anyone here higher than that? just started friday and I still haven't hit challenges besides this one random rank 60 player I've been matched against twice. I bet I could easily break the top 100. Time to start streaming I think.

Helo do you lik the lady?
>>145979301
You seem to specifically forget that many here shared campaigns and discussed the game when warhammer came out
>>145977798
It'll be very hard desu. Those hellcannons wreck low numbered elite units, and dwarfs can't really take them out, because all of their artillery has shorter range for some reason. Also, unless you corner camp dealing with those knights will be a nightmare. Charges in this game disrupt your formation so much, that most of the time cav just sends your screening units flying and gets right into your ranged.
>>145979773
the ai is literally retarded and sent 70% of its troops down one lane. The troop that did nothing was guarding a different lane that the ai decided it didnt need to use (pretty much I forgot about him).

I've mostly had shit internet until recently so haven't really had a chance to try it out.
>>145980781
The progression is slower thanks to more limited armies and a much larger amount of provinces available but you actually get the feeling of carving out a domain for your clan instead of just landgrabbing entire regions in one go.
>>145980202
Its a bunch of little tidbits I really found interesting during the era, like the history behind characters like Alaric/Stilicho, Attila/Aetius and Attila's rise to power and the lead up to the Battle of the Catalaunian Plains. Or how Alaric sacked Rome because of the sheer incompetence of the Roman emperor
That said, I knew nothing about Attila's era prior to its release. Playing the game really made me dig the erathey could totally make a HBO series with Attila/Aetius' backstory
>>145981165

The Chaos factions pretty much gave up on it after their big attempt since they are fighting between themself

>>145982792
>>145982792
Yeah, i'm using a frontline of 5x Skeleton Warriors, with a second line of usually 4x Graveguard (Great weapon if fighting dwarfs or chaos). I always bring 1 unit of wraiths because they're amazing at flanking and hunting units, and at least 2 Crypt Horrors (a must). Then i just take it from there depending on what i'm fighting. I've always stuck with Mannfred, his arsenal of magic is too good.
rollingg
>>145984331
>you'll never be flanked by cairn wraiths
>>145983806
It's used for different things.
If you see a lone ranged unit you can send it over at the speed of light and ram the whole unit to fuck.
However in most fights i either just let it chill out on the frontline with my skellies. It sends units flying like hero units, so it's really good for disruption.
My favorite thing with charriots in general is running through the enemy frontline and into their missile units. People don't expect it. Charriots can plow through like 8 lines of soldiers on a good day.

What's wrong with forsaken? Aren't they better damage dealers?
Can any lorefags clarify one thing for me? Do chaos Sorcerer Lords use only one of the lores at a time? Or do they take their God's Lore +whatever lore they choose? What about elves? I know they can master all the Lores, abut can one elf mage use all of them in combat? And what about Lord of Change? Seeing him only cast weak ass metal spells for me seemed kinda wierd, considering he is supposed to be god-like spellcaster.
Just wonering how CA are gonna tackle expert spellcasters like slann and archmages in future games.

Newbie who wants to try basic modding here, is there a set limit to the number of head variants a unit can have?
I've heard it was limited to five, but pic related is a custom unit someone made and it's obviously an exception. Can any anons with modding experience clear this up? I want to try and fiddle with troop variety when I have the time.
what mods should i use for rome 2?
>>145989282
HASTATI
>>145989760
Like i said, there is nothing wrong with forsaken. They role is dealing ungodly amounts of damage real fast. But they're extremely weak to ranged fire and lack defense in general, which makes Chaos Warriors a much better choice when starting a campaign. Warriors are just more reliable and versatile. But you're free to do whatever you want.
I use forsaken all the time in multiplayer. Most players seem to underestimate how fast they fuck shit up.
>>145990446
>>145977798
So i finally got around to playing the battle and it went quite well. Unfortunately, it was on this map which I really hate because of the trees, I think there's an option to turn off the leaves when you get close to trees but I keep forgetting to turn it on. But anyway, the chaos AI just stood still, I guess cause I was attacking, so I managed to get in my artillery shots with no resistance at all. Wiped out two chaos warrior units with my grudgethrower, then the chaos knights and half a stack of the chaos spawn with my cannon. Cannons seem to be really effective against cavalry.
>>145990821
DOOT
>>145990853
The trees came to my advantage in the end as they blocked many of the hellcannon shots from hitting my troops, reducing their effectiveness immensely. I was then able to clean up the rest of the chaos army with my ironbreakers (completely forgot they had blasting charges, ended up wrecking most of the umgi scum with them).
So redpill me on using the underway to move? I heard people say it forces the AI to attack you?
Even if you have a larger force? Do you just have to get near them?
How do you stop dying right away as the Tzu? There's too many enemies around me and the Iga province is not exactly know for its riches.
>Save replay of an entertaining battle
>Go to re-watch it
>Replay is completely different than the battle I played. Replay shows enemy reinforcements entering on a completed different side of the map.
>The troops I sent to intercept them are standing by themselves in a forest swinging their weapons and casting spells at nothing.
10/10
>>145991180
Then, I charged forward my general and heroes to take out the hellcannons, and moved my ranged forward in a spread out formation in case the cannons turned their attention to them. However, they decided to keep following my infantry after I'd moved them back and ended up just walking into a shit ton of fire from my ranged units. Cleaning up them was much easier than I thought it would be.
>>145989795
>Chaos
Chaos sorcerers can use either their patron god's lore (Tzeentch, Nurgle or Slaanesh, which are not implemented) or replace it with another lore (Tzeentch -> Metal, Nurgle -> Death, Slaanesh -> Shadow) unaligned sorcerers can use Metal, Death, Shadow or Fire lores, Khorne has no sorcerers for obvious reasons
>Elves
Elves can either go balls deep in a lore (all spells from one elemental lore or high magic) or learn the basics of all lores (getting the basic spell from the eight lores + high magic) ignoring the End Times due to how broken it was (elves got ALL spells from ALL lores)
>Lord of Change
They get full access to Metal and Lore of Tzeentch, which is not in, so the mightiest caster is stuck with shit spells (mind you, Metal lore is not shit in the tabletop)
>>145991374
Did you win the replay?
>>145991230
There is a chance that nearby army intercepts you when you are using underway. While you can choose to ignore the interception if you caught the enemy, AI always intercepts you, no matter the odds. You can just jump around multiple stacks and there is a good chance that one of them will intercept you and will be forced to fight.

I remember how excited I was when I got my first heroic battle in Rome 1. It was an incredibly close battle where I was outmatched, and I won through precise movements, particularly I remember that I had pulled a group of horsemen out of a fray, just barely, and started a chain route with their charge before they died.
I went back to watch the replay, but that crucial part of the battle didn't play out how I remembered. My horsemen, walked a little bit out of the fray, but were still in combat. The battle played out as if I hadn't gotten that chain-route, with my men at different parts of the battlefield, standing and awaiting their deaths.
Honestly I thought I was going insane, and I went back to the campaign I had fought the battle in to confirm that I had won.
Why is a bug that was in Rome 1 still in new releases?
Thanks CA
>>145991542
In the end, Archaon managed to slip away. But, he's still in my reach on the campaign map so I'll probably just chase him when I play again and auto-resolve the rest of his army. The hellcannons did end up killing the most of my units out of everyone in their army, so they were still a pain in my ass. Thankfully it wasn't an open field.
>>145991985
Not a bug :^)
the "replay" is basically the AI playing against itself replicating all moves you did, so any RNG-related shit never plays out the same
As retarded as it sounds, it is true
Are there any mods I should be using with Master of Strategy?
>>145991779
But they're two different factions.
>>145991608
>Did you win the replay?
No, it gave me a decisive defeat. Our armies never actually met besides my handful of reinforcement squads that now spawned right in the middle of their entire army and got wrecked.
>>145992319
>steppeniggers
>royal
>>145991673
So even if I have an army of 20 units and I use the underway near a 10 stack army, they'll attack me?
>>145979947
There's always that mod that added population back in the game you can get thats only due rome2
>>145991230
No they can intercept you from about half of your walking range regardless of your army size, it's supper effective to pick up single stacks from bigger cluster or if you miss a little of moment points to attack and if you play orks there no reason to not use it all the time because leadership bonus and the fact underground battle give you huge advantage to use artillery because everyone come from one direction.
>>145992535
Yeah.
Finished my VC campaign, gonna try orcs next
I really enjoyed taking cities with stacks and stacks of shit units, what's fun in the orc arsenal?
BUFF PISTOLIERS
NERF HELLCANNONS
>>145992801
>what's fun in the orc arsenal?
Guided artillery
>>145992801
>what's fun in the orc arsenal?
Black orcs, doom divers, spiders.
Every other unit in their roster is pretty shit, and not as effective as the vampires' because they rout almost instantly if you don't use them carefully.
>>145989795
Probably the way Mannfred was handled. Access to multiple Lores and a big possible investment on magic in the Talent tree.
By the time they release them I hope they'll take the hint from mods and improve magic, maybe they'll do it together with the release of new Lores.
Anyone tried Medieval Kingdoms Total War 1212AD. ? Is it anygood ?
>>145992905
>Select all units
>Charge at the enemy
>Spend the remaining battle controlling Doom Divers
every time
>>145992532
>>145991985
It's not a bug, it's how replays are designed. It doesn't record your battle, just orders that you and the AI issued, and then recreates it in in a new battle. CA is too lazy to implement a real replay system.
>>145992535
It depends, but the AI takes the option to fight quite often if your army doesn't vastly outmatch theirs.

>>145993348
I heard it was 5 too, but you might as well try to assign more, and see if they show up, never really tried it
If it doesn't work, try tricking the system with base models
>>145993348
try TWCenter
>>145981836
rolllllll
>>145993348
I don't know.
>>145981852
DEI is pretty nifty. if not that then at least Traits, Talents and Toadies and 4 turns per year with season effects is what I always have got running a least. Up to you really, just stay away from Radious. Vanilla's comfy enough.
>>145993889
I'll do some vanilla then
>>145984426
>>145984426
Boii #1.
Rolling to see who I play as after them.
>>145993348
You need to make a new mesh definition and then tell your unit's mesh definition to reference it.
Just look for Atilla or Rome II modding tutorials on Youtube it works mostly the same, but it's changed a bit, for instance in helmet definitions I think you need to have the slot named "helmet" now and not "helmets" like the Rome or Attila.
>>145994058
dont have em. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
>Replay a battle I just won on VH
>Lose on Normal
Fuck sake RNG. I didn't kill their general on my suicide run in the second battle.
What should my strategy be on dwarf legendary? Play defensive til my 3 towns have walls then push to Black Crag?
Attila best Total War.
Ebdani and Jews best factions.Death to Rome.
>>145982439
With the DLC, Wako Raiders are some of the most bullshit cheese units available.
>>145994861
Bland and boring setting.
>>145995193
Nice opinion bro.

pls respond
As Chaos should I worry about subjugating the Norscans before I push south into Kislev? Sometimes Skaeling gets big and decides to chase my stacks around instead of messing with the Empire and it can really fuck you over.
Also what is the beneift of the whole "Awaken Tribe -> Subjugate" thing? The game claims that vassals will give you some of their income, however I have noticed no difference in income after vassalizing. All it seems to do is piss off all of your current vassals (Breaking Treay), making them more likely to declare independence.
give gold to orcs
How hard would it be to create a mod that adds walls to fully developed minor settlements?
>>145996163
Just go into Kislev before they build up. Awaken Baersonlings so you have somewhere you can get some higher replenishment if you have to force march away from threats.
Only awaken anyone else for fun, as in practicality they don't do jack-shit and are a waste of time. Act fast before Kislev and friends have stronger armies, and before the agent spam comes in full force.

Im quite fond of Attila but good lord is the performance/optimization shit. Pretty much my biggest gripe with it.
