one thing that helped me is to aim at your target with your eyes, move your crosshair based on peripherial vision/feel of the center of the screen. also aim slightly ahead of where they are as you are about to shoot, and use your strafing whenever you can to move into the shot. in most cases whoever stops moving first in an aim duel will lose because of the runspeed being so fast in this game
