Anything 1 on 1 has a good chance of being competitive, so Quake, Starcraft, even Connect Four.
You can play TEAM competitive games if you have a TEAM. That means if you have 6 people who are willing to practice together and play against other teams of 6, Overwatch can be a competitive game.
If you solo queue, it is not competitive in the least. The pretty colors and sound effects are nice though. Basketball can be competitive if you have a team of 5 vs. a team of 5. Basketball is not competitive if you just show up at the gym and get 4 random people on your team ranging from a little kid to Michael Jordan, and your opponents are the same. Nobody would ever brag about winning/losing one of those matches.

This. First i hated the whole possibility of switching character on the fly, but it has grown on to me.
It's really fun enough to play alone, and better if you have a bunch of friends. Most of the games are still pretty normal in terms of team line-up, and the option of every now and then to go full retard with a team consisting of the same character is hilarious at best.
But yeah, you wan't a "more competitive" game, you better look elsewhere.
