WoW, in my opinion, was at it's absolute best when it was community based.
Getting into a dungeon wasn't as easy as being teleported there. You had to walk to the fucking thing - which was an event all in itself. Summon your friends, which meant you had to have another person come with you, or kick someone and invite someone in the zone to help you bring them.
The whole thing was a pain in the ass, but it added so much.... depth, and value to each encounter.
Fighting a boss wasn't just a harder elite - it was a boss. Getting a sword - even if it was a level 32 you'd replace in a couple of levels - meant something.
LFG/LFR killed a lot of that. In a way, WoW needs to become a little more primitive, and a little less streamlined.
I think the game can be saved without introducing legacy servers, but will Blizzard ever realize it? I don't know.

You can still come to WoD if you haven't played it. You'll see all the content it has in a month or maybe two and will have a few toons leveled for legion. Will see how long the legion will last, but again you'll have things to do for 2-3 months more.

I sorted the WoW classes into what Sonic Heroes teams they'd be, it was just a mini project, hopefully at least someone enjoys reading, I really liked this game as a kid. In case you didn't know, these are the teams in the original game:
Team Sonic - Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, and Knuckles the Echidna.
Team Dark - Shadow the Hedgehog, Rogue the Bat and E-123 Omega.
Team Rose - Amy Rose, Cream the Rabbit and Big the Cat.
Team Chaotix - Espio the Chameleon, Vector the Crocodile and Charmy Bee.
I think I'm gonna go with the obvious first and say Team Sonic would be Warrior, Priest and Mage. They're the most iconic RPG classes, much like Team Sonic is composed of the three primary Sonic characters. Tails would be like a Priest, always supporting the group, where Knuckles is the Warrior and Sonic is the Mage.
Team Dark would be Demon Hunter, Death Knight and Warlock. Maybe I'm not putting enough thought into this, but those are all the "Dark" classes, I don't think they'd really fit in any other team.
Team Chaotix is a tricky one. Espio is a Ninja, so I think I'd put the Rogue in his place. It's difficult to say with Charmy, but I'd say he's like a Shaman, he may be a bit of a goofball but he enjoys the great outdoors. Vector would be the Paladin then, since he's always keeping team Chaotix in order and is the oldest of the bunch.
So that leaves us with Team Rose. Big the Cat is much like a Druid - for one he lives entirely off the land, also he found kinship in Froggy, who is a different species to him. Amy isn't very Monk-like, but her passion towards Sonic is very focused and relentless, so she fits the Monk archetype well. Cream would be like a Hunter, since she uses a companion at her side and lacks much fighting prowess on her own.

It's possible to dunk on people in a few globals if they're missing gear or don't know their buttons, but there are still classes with extremely high survivability, Destro locks / Fdk / Druids that won't go down easily in a 1v1 situation if using their shit correctly.

Skada is pure DAMAGE DONE divided by TIME, so if you do 300K damage in 8 seconds time you're at 37,500 DPS. Recount is inaccurate because it fails to comprehend what DPS even is.

You will make more from selling vanilla greens and blues for transmog, as well as very rare vanilla and TBC crafts, especially those requiring very grindy reputations to purchase.
Just level to 100, gear up on ashran and start doing WotLK and Cata 25 man raids on heroic mode to make enough gold for daily needs (bags, flasks etc).

I don't see how it's the same. It's vastly different design. A huge departure from WoD.
While WoD design encouraged you to stay inside your garrison and micromanage a bunch of NPCs going on adventures, Legion encourages you to do everything yourself and venture out into the world as much as possible.
While WoD design shat all over dungeons and made people question why they even existed, Legion boasts a strong line-up of dungeons and even made 2 of them Mythic-only recently, so you couldn't queue for them. With the new Mythic+ mode and a weekly reward from dungeons, they are encouraging you more than ever to find other people on your server to play with.

If you wanted to start at the beginning your 3 main options for 1.12 servers are feenix, kronos, and rebirth all of which have their own brand of suck. All tbc servers suck. Wrath has warmane, dalaran, and gamer district. Again with their own brand of suck. Atlantiss is the only 'decent' cata server but its still pretty broken compared to wrath and classic servers. Don't know anything about mop or wod servers, might as well play retail at that point. /wpsg/ is the general for private servers.
