I've played Treant mid, I'm probably better at it than you are, but you are delusional if you think he wins against the best mid heroes.
Out of those the Invoker matchup may be one of your best bets but he will start to win if he is exort after he gets some levels.
Heroes with aoe skills like DP/Lina/DK/WR are still going to farm against you anyways and then just wait to outscale you.
Sure you can get a cs advantage in the first couple levels but if your opponent knows how to play mid then they are still going to get their farm and you can't really threaten to kill most of them unless they are really bad.

I get what they're trying to do. They're trying to close the power gap between carry and support so that every hero is useful at all points of the game. That's why they changed faceless void into a meme-carry. That's why they turned abyssal blade into a mid-game build-up item. That's why they're giving pure damage on every fucking support hero and buffing stupid fucking items like hurricane pike.
Ultimately this is blurring the concept between 'core' and 'support' so much that it's increasingly common to draft 4 traditional core line-ups that split farm 4 ways and 1 traditional support. Because the game lets you do this. And you get what you had last major, just a bunch of meme-tanks and retarded no-skill meme-heroes like naix, slardar, tidehunter, dragon knight, and deathprophet just fucking RUNNING at each other for 20 minutes and then the game is over.

Spending 4k just to "counter" a single hero who you can just avoid is fucking retarded. You still get fucked by AA, LC and weaver and gimping yourself on a defensive item when you need damage or tanking is bad. BKB doesn't even counter timber, the only way slark can kill timber is if his team locks him down (disruptor or windranger) and bkb is needed for that.
Manta was the best item he could of gone. Game looked hard for slark regardless simply because LC is such a good counter to him and he has no defensive supports.
Manta only needs to dispel the first silence because slark can just q and ult the rest.

You just draft these mid-game stompers like Riki, Naix, Slardar who are so fucking powerful at every point of the game that it's absurd. Antimage went 0-4 this major, and they're still trying to buff him by increasing his ult ministun? Like what the fuck? Shit does just not make sense.
The only interesting line-ups drafted this major were from Alliance and Fnatic, and they both got eliminated to meme-lineups anyways.

Slark should never have issues vs a timber, especially a blink-less timber. The only way timber kills a slark is if LC duels him, which bkb won't help
BKB doesn't counter the timber because timber just blademails and wexs out. Timber is still alive when a slark has a bkb and honestly slark has very little chance of straight up killing a timber unless he has about 15 stacks. Completely defensive and useless item in that game, still gets fucked by LC and AA.

Manila Major had hilariously entertaining lineups, just look at the grand finals.
The fucking Sven-Jugg-Void tricore lineup of all things dominating early and mid game was great to watch.
We also saw shit carries like Medusa and Wraith King and Weaver.
The most boring lineups were probably TL's Lycan + (DK or DP) push strats.
The old 4-protect-1 days had their charm but if you have to choose between every game being a meatgrinder or a farmfest then I think the choice is clear. This patch is the most exciting and diverse in a long time.
