Parry, pretty much the only way to reliably win.
Fist fights are clunky as fuck and it's really just a battle with the camera while trying not to get stuck on a piece of furniture. No shame in just setting it to easy since some of it is pretty bullshit, punches can literally do 3000+ damage in full Ursine, like it's percentage based but the opponent always has higher health and takes less damage.
You can also try signs, weapons and healing. You're not meant to but sometimes the game forgets to limit your options.

So I just picked up The Witcher 3 finally and I've been having a fantastic time and just completed the Return to Crookback Bog quest at level 11.
I feel as though I might be missing some things that can make the game even better.

I've already bumped the difficulty up to Blood and Broken Bones because I want to have to actually act like a Witcher and prepare/use consumables.

Frankly I dislike either ending.
Ciri will not be a particularly good ruler (even if she'll be massively advantaged with her instant travelling everywhere). She certainly won't be very happy with all the trappings and restrictions that come with it. Besides, there was never any destiny for her to powerful herself. It always revolved around her eventual child. I could imagine her become a queen or empress consort, with few responsibilites and a certain freedom (basically what emhyr imagined).
On the other hand, ciri will not be a very good witcher, without enhanced senses, potions, physical resistance, poison resistance... I don't think she would, realistically, live very long. Her basically retiring with geralt on his wineyard, maybe going out for a job every now and then, makes much more sense.

So I just finished the Blood and Wine DLC.
It was good, loved the characters so much more than the ones from HoS (sorry Shani)
Yet I still prefer HoS, it gave me such a magical feel about it, I don't know how to explain it. It felt like it was presented in a better fashion.
B&W, I felt that it dragged on after a while and I just got tired of it. Regis alone though saved it for me and the ending at your home is pretty much the best ending Geralt can have.
As for the whole ending of the expansion, got the worst one. I felt it stupid to go about and forgive everyone just to be a goody two shoes and it showed that I was right in the end. Still considered the worst ending, doesn't matter, gonna replay that part just to see the rest.

I've kicked/Aarded the beehive over to him, and some red numbers appeared for a few seconds before disappearing entirely.
I'm on New Game +, Death March, with enemy upscaling turned on, if it makes a difference. Fiddling with those settings in options A. Made the numbers appear again, albeit temporarily, and B. Reduced said numbers if they were changes that would have made the game easier/reduced enemy levels.

So I tried to play Watcher 3 a few months ago, but I really didn't enjoy it too much.
I explored the area around White Orchard, but by the time I was finished I didn't have enough gold to repair my equipment.
Even after finding the Viper School stuff some five levels early, and wiping out all of the bandit camps and monster dens, and selling everything the vendors would buy, I'd only made something like 30 gold, and the repairs on my equipment were over 100.
Did I overlook some gold-making strategy or something? Or are you not supposed to try to subsidize yourself through random play?

I usually play on Easy or Normal for most unexciting combat (asshole bandits with spears, wolves) and then crank it up to Hard of DM for fights that seem, story-wise, like they should be hard (contract bosses, big-ass monsters)
Being able to basically breeze through most of the nonsense filler enemies in the open world makes the game less frustrating to play and, in a way, more realistic. I've never liked having to slash a shirtless bandit 25 times to kill him, in any game.

I've been jumping between Metamophosis and Euphoria and those seem pretty effective.
Are there any tricks to using them I should be aware of? Decoctions that pair well together, for instance? With all the Manticore gear, I'm up to ~300 toxicity, so I can use four now, and I really have no clue what to pick. :(

My current build uses Euphoria + 4 decoctions = constant +210% attack power and sign intensity.
A powerful combo is Water Hag + Ekimmara decoctions + Invigoration enchantment. As long as you maintain full health with Ekimmara, Water Hag + Invigoration, your swings deal 2x the damage. My regular fast swings are doing 4k when this happen.
You need to get Euphoria fix on nexus, otherwise the buff will drop off after combat.
