Just bought the game a few days ago, I'm loving it. I'm level 8 or so and I'm wondering how to solve the issue of being overlevelled. I think I finally found what original purpose Devil's Pit played in the story. It was related to the multipart sidequest labelled as War! (exclamation mark present in the original).
First part (named Roche's Gang) is basically Assasination Plot quest, starting with the search for Thaler. He still was going to pretend to be a shoemaker and you still would find him with trolls, but after or in between of that (not sure which exactly), you would come across Stone Cutters village, which was massacred and you would find the bodies of Nilfgaardians killed by the plague. The mess would be caused by masked man (inb4 Bane) accompanied by squad of mutated soldiers. His name would be Hector or Martin Krafft Ebbing and he would be definitely the mad scientist type serving as the main villain of this whole plotline. It looks like he would forcefully inject Geralt with the virus, probably as a way of creating the antibodies.
Second part of this plotline is named Investigation and this is where Devil's Pit comes into play. Originally it supposed to start with Geralt finding the alchemical lab inside abandoned house in nonhuman district, which had elven portal beneath it, that would probably take him directly to the pit, but it looks like this part was scrapped pretty early on, so instead Geralt would pick up Ebbing track in the forest. Part of the forest would be covered with bones and body parts, which would lead him to abandoned mine (Devil's Pit). It's basically mass grave made of the bodies transported from the field hospital, which were probably used in Ebbing's experiments with the virus. The decaying corpses lured a horde of monsters that now are bothering Nilfgaardians. They would capture arachas and used it's venom to keep the monsters away. If it's something they would do on their own or with Geralt's help, is unknown.
Third part of this quest is named Assassination.

Velen awards mostly Northern cards, Novigrad has a lot of Nilfgaard cards. Skellige gives monster cards mostly.
Siege-Foltest deck which you can assemble quite early in the game can carry you through most of it. In this deck, you stock up on frost/fog cards and Hero cards (north has a lot). Seige because elf and monster decks do not have many siege cards while North does.

It looks like Geralt would be called to Nilfgaard camp, where he is contacted by Emperor Emhyr himself via the megascope and gets to talk with Nilfgaardian spy, which means Ebbing research was a pretty big deal for Nilfgaard. It's possible he was even sanctioned by them, which would explain why the nilfgaardian slavers were capturing people from nearby villagers, then delivering them to military commander and the Skellige pirates sold them people they captured, They were all probably meant to be used in Ebbing experiments. Geralt would also visit Ebbing residence in this quest, probably (judging by the quest's name) in order to take him down after he crossed the line even by Nilfgaardians standard.
Fourth and final part is Lazaret, set in hospital with soldiers who fell the victim to the plague are staying. Ebbing is dead and it looks like he cut his own finger in order to make a pact and summon the demon. If it's something he does earlier or in final moments as the last "fuck you" to Geralt, I don't know. Geralt uses Hector's body for the ritual, he also obtains the cure for the plague, which Ebbing developed. There would be some battle going on. It could be between Nilfgaardians and the demon or between Nilfgaardians and Redanians, no info on that. That's all I know about this questline.
My guess is it's possible that this optional questline was how originally RED's planned to give us a choice regarding the final outcome of the war (again, judging by the name). You could give the cure to Nilfgaardians, despite all the sick experiments they conducted on civilians, to cure their soldiers and thus helping them win or not giving them a cure and letting the disease to spead around their ranks, leaving them in disarray, thus giving North a greater chance for victory. Something probably went wrong during the development and they had no time to finish this plotline, so they needed to cobble something quickly and we ended up with Reason of State.

This was a good one. I was disappointed to find that the spoon key quest that shot off of this and the recipes you get from it had no actual purpose. But I guess pretty much all non-witcher gear treasure hunts were like that, so I shouldn't have expected much.

So I finished Blood & Wine, absolutely loved it, though I wish we could've fucked Anna and I wish Fringilla made an appearance, don't know why they didn't put her in. Also wish there was an actual romance path instead of just a scene.

Witcher contracts are all "use wolfkin vision to find thing, slay the monster". Some of them are fun (Oxenfurt Drunk), but most you should just skip.
Every sidequest that involves your buddies is 100% worth doing.
Every other sidequest is usually inconsequential over - and they're over in seconds.

Muster just sucks in general. It requires you to pad your deck with units when you should be running min. units, ideally a lot of heroes + focused regular units (such as Northern Kingdoms siege). Odds are you will have multiple of the same muster in your hand, making you drain your hand that much faster if you do end up playing them. You have a hard time winning a round without Muster, yet using Muster once sends all linked cards to discard once it's used, leaving you drained for later rounds.
Monsters in particular get fucked by having nearly all their muster in the melee row, meaning you get fucked by Biting Frost (let alone Frost + Villentretenmerth). Combined with lolnospies and lolnomedics they're the weakest deck by far. Personally I think Nilfgaard >= Northern Realms > Scoia'Tael > Monsters. Didn't give a shit about Gwent in my first playthrough so I have no idea what Skellige is like.

To my knowledge, Eridin knew that the White frost was going to inevitably destroy his world and hoped to use Ciri's power so he could easily transport huge numbers of troops (and eventually civilians) to other worlds to invade them and populate them with space elves, which is something I guess the old king wasn't as keen on doing (?). My biggest problem was in the way this was presented ("the king is dead bwahaha!"), and with the fact that Ciri evidently had the ability to destroy the White Frost in some really ambiguous way, meaning that if Eridin hadn't fucked around trying to capture her she could have just been properly trained and stopped the White Frost without any of the other bullshit hassle.

It's almost like my audio is bugged or something, there's never any ambient noise during conversations or appropriate music, it's always just the same couple novigrad songs playing through everything, it's really jarring when you're in some intense chase scene or something or some other intense situation
I guess it's just a small thing but it really triggers my autism, everything feels off because the music doesn't fit and there's no noise in the background besides the people talking

Casting a mushroom card or emiron(ranged) converts berserkers in the same row into 8 pt cards. Not really worth it because mushroom cards take up a special card slot and with not much spy power it's hard to assemble the berserkers and mushrooms.

Skellige deck introduces new skellige storm card that's basically fog+rain. Good for melee-heavy builds and can be used in any deck. One of the leader ability causes weather to only halve the strength of the cards so that's pretty useful.
>Mustering and Cerys
The other leader ability shuffles the discard pile back into the deck. This allows you to use each mustering twice provided you have the cards for it. Cerys is worth a mention because she musters 3x shield maidens that have the tight bond effect. The amount of points you get from this one card can be ridiculous and is an IWIN button if played right...
