If you only care about the achievements and have at least 1 respec preferably 2 so you can go back to your build then just respec into a mage.
60 INT with great heavy soul arrow kills the dragon in like 4 hits and the nameless king himself dies usually with about a 1.5 bars of FP at 24 ATT. It'll be even easier since you can just dump more points into INT or ATT to use crystal soul spear to kill him faster. Even if they summon another phantom he dies really fast to magic and you can use the other phantom/host to keep aggro on NK

It's the build I have but yeah it can be a little tough to manage stamina. I use crystal soul spear and crystal homing mass but will probably change to the regular ones since they don't do that much more damage for the big cost in FP
You could try out the cast speed of those without the sage ring first. If it's too slow then use the ring if not go with the FAP+2. Putting up a soulmass will get someone off you and let you build your stamina back up.

It's an improvement over das1 with the option of a ring though.
I've got an ultra-greatsword (I think it's called the greatsword) that does a decent amount fo damage in PvE. However, when I do duels outside Pontiff Sulyvahn's I find that people are doing as much damage to me with dual swords and one-handed weapons and shit. I'm level 60, 40 strength, 1000hp.
Are ultra-greatswords just bad in this game? If I can do as much damage with a one-handed weapons I may as well use that because it uses less stamina.

Put more points into Vitality and wear heavier armor. Try to aim for ~30% absorb without buffs or rings. Make sure you're using the Heavy Infusion as well.

Astora Greatsword is pretty much the best ultra in the game thanks to its versatility. You can make it raw and pump faith to 60 to cap lightning blade buff damage, or infuse with a lightning gem for scaling. you can go heavy/sharp and then 30 faith for lb buff. choice is yours really.

dsg, I've got a problem. I was told that I could get the proper bow gesture without pissing off sirris by not talking to her until after giving rosaria a tongue. I gave one tongue to her, and respecced once, but when I got back to firelink sirris was gone.

Play it through as blind as possible, you'll have more fun exploring and trying out new things yourself. Builds barely make much of a difference in PvE anyway, just play whatever you think feels the most enjoyable.

I am using Astora's GS and a 35/35 INT-FTH build.
This build is a melee-caster hybrid, going more for the melee aspect of it rather than casting, since I only have 14 ATT.
With those 10 extra end, I can increase my AR by 70 plus having more damaging dark magic / pyro.
10 extra end will stop me from getting stunned by swinging the sword twice.
What would be better for a melee oriented caster? 70 AR + more damaging hexes or 25 points in end for an extra swing or roll?
what are the points with int/fai i should stop at for a pyro-focused character?

30 is preferred, however, if you're a decent player you could get away with 20. OR, you can go half way, get your little 35 AR bonus, but also 25 end, which is respectable. For AGS, or any ugs, you need enough stamina for r1>r1, then rolling r1, and extra roll, if you can do all that in a stamina bar, you should be good most of the time, as even with 40 end, you really don't want to spam r1, especially against carthus faggots.

Astora UGS's main poser is roll catching pokes and rolling r1s and you can use both of those with ten fucking endurance and rofap+2.
Always go with softcapped damage stats, i have 100 hours on a pyromancer with 10 END who uses red hilted, longswords, AGS, carthus curved and witch locks and i was fine just by playing a little more passive.

When in doubt, fire surge it instead of swinging your weapon.
Seriously, pyromancers have fire surge for EVERY combat situation, any good opponent will see your roll punish from a mile away anyway. AGS on pyromancer mostly functions to punish opponents for being overly aggressive against you and catch them on rolls. If you miss a swing you just roll back and go back to passive fire surge kiting.

Anyone can dodge a shitty ugs r1, if you have no mixups, you'll lose half your battles if not more. R1>R1 also doesn't kill anyone, at best you'll deal 800 damage from a AGS even with a quality build. If Yhorm's can deal 900ish with 760 AR you definitely won't deal the same even with a buff.

Other than the jump button, the controls are something you'll get used to. I hated lockon a lot at first, especially because bravo-miyazaki decided to place enemies in positions that threw your lockon around (the firebombers above the bridge at the first parish bonfire. Infusing with bleed makes it do more damage, rouge makes the bleed happen faster, is what I was told.
That said you basically pick any weapon that already has bleed on it (like barbed sword, bandit knife, dual katanas, etc) and rouge them up and it maxes out the bleed speed (it's +45 bleed specifically if you're wondering, so more than double usually). If you bleed infuse you can't use the rouge, but on weapons that already have bleed you can also rouge them.
Rouge is best because more bleed damage doesn't really matter, what matters is how fast you can proc it. You want to proc it as fast as possible with a quick attacking weapon, that's why the dual katanas are so good with it because you get the double attacks with them, same as the warden twinblades.

The hyperarmor starts nearly instantly and lasts until their feet touch the ground. As soon as their feet leave the ground, they have a stagger hitbox that will stun anything into the headshot, which instantly inflicts bleed with rouge and stuns long enough for L1L1 afterwards. If they roll the jump, it isn't punishable, which means that just like every other broken gimmick in the gamer, the only "counter" is playing passively and waiting for your opponent to make a spacing error.

It's just quality with 30 vig and 37 endurance and 16 faith for sunlight SS and tears (which I haven't really bothered with using at all lately so wasted stats atm and I need to go into NG+ to respec, but I don't mind the handicap since as you can see I can still flawless victory people). Carthus rouge of course to start each match. Most quality builds have like 200-300 more health than me but that's about it. Leo/Life/Cloranthy/FAP rings.

Hollow is the best infusion for it, yes. It's the only infusion that doesn't reduce its overall AR (given that you actually have luck for it to scale with). It's strongest on one of those hybrid qualuck statmonsters that are only possible at sl120.
It gains a lot of bleed from luck (like 8 points in total, IIRC) but even with base luck, the L2 with rouge will instableed on a headshot.

generally, the hollow infusion either doesn't remove any scaling or only removes a tiny bit of scaling, and then adds luck scaling. that's why it's so good. the luck scaling is pretty garbage for most weapons but it's still some extra AR on top of the fast bleed buildup

Corvian with rouge procs on 3 and is surprisingly fun. People underestimate it because scythes are kind of shitty but you get guaranteed 2 hit stunlocks and then just keep pressure and make sure you get that 3rd hit in quickly. It would be unusable w/o bleed imo
No hollowing so you'd probably have much better success with yoels help but bleed builds are very fun if you like to play aggressively

Honestly idk but in my experience hollow infusions don't seem that big of a deal AR-wise compared to quality builds and rouge kinda makes the bleed buff from luck a non-issue.
I mean feel free to test it yourself but I'd think at best if you went quality AND luck together you'd probably only get another 20-30 AR out of them, if even that. You'll also probably be sacrificing life/stamina if you're hitting the softcaps of all 3 stats.
Quality is just king, idk what to say. 406 is plenty with dual weapons like these.

There's so little power left in the flame that even the fucking sun is going out. That's why it only took one person in DS1, and why the Dark really wanted it in DS2. By the time it's DS3, it takes five Lords, a Firekeeper, and the only heroes that are left are dudes who failed the first time, aka Ashen Ones. I think the Embers that the Fire Keeper sees when she talks about what she can see with the eyes is the cycle restarting if you let it, but everyone's too caught up in never letting it end in the first place to figure that out.
Also, being on fire is never a good choice.

The trick to those ultra weapons is to never assume you have enough time to swing. Too much time is just enough time for those weapons. The weapons arts make pretty good gap closers, but can be punished really easily. Play a little defensively until you see your chance to smash them.

In general, DLC seems to contain my favorite stuff for Souls games. Bloodborne (regardless of whether or not anyone here sees it as a Souls game) is, in my opinion, pretty bad excluding the Old Hunters. I'm hoping Dark Souls 3 has a pretty hype expansion.

I use the greataxe at sl25 for my Farron watchdogs invasions.
It's a great time, albeit exclusively 2handed, but the damage is enough to 1HKO some low-vigor players with 2 R1s, plus the war cry makes for great trades.
