Sharpness+1/2 comes from the Handicraft Skill.
The Sharpness skill on the Seltas armor gives Razor Sharp, which reduces sharpness consumption.
They're two different skills with similar naming.

Whats the point though, Generations is mainly only cool if you played the previous MH games.
You get to revisit the old towns, hear remade BGMs, see the townspeople, use old armors/weapons, and such.
However, when it comes to the monsters, fighting a Rathalos or Tigrex for the millionth time is nothing special.

Firing pellets in the air causes them to all headshot (or hit the weakpoint of) the monster. It's like you just shot ~10 Normal lvl2 shots straight into the monster's weakpoint.

IIRC the Black Parasol and Demon's Isle can both shit out Shrapnel shots like no other, all with zero recoil. Plus they get fuckhuge ammo supplies (~40 shots).

Don't bother min maxing in low rank. Any complete set with good offensive skills (razor sharp, attack up S/M/L/XL and/or speed sharpening) will do. Velociprey and Yian Kut-Ku are popular choices. If you're not a good player, go for defense values (Diablos and Gravios are also popular).

The artillery skill is not required at all, especially if you want to play optimally. If you like shelling, go for it, I guess. Getting good with the gunlance is learning your combo paths, using shells to extend combos, and learning when to guard, what you can evade, doing extended hops on command, and learning when to sheathe vs when to hop. You may not have lance hops, but evasion skills are viable if you want to go that path. Basically, getting good at the gunlance is like getting good at other weapons. Just play, experiment, and learn more about your weapon.

Gore is way weaker to fire. Needle Ivy is pretty good either way so I'd go with it (and once you manage to handle the quest, farm the tails to get Leumundslist).

GS players seem to be alright, they don't particularly get in the way too often and the average shitter hates the weapon for being so slow.
Gunners basically have to know what they are doing so I find them to be alright. I don't think too many shitters pick that weapon since they have to deal with lower defense and ammo.

My favorite part about the LBGs in X is the short wait on pierce 1 shots. If you're a shitter like me you can now take down any monster no matter how fast they are and without running out of shots.

You can just spam pierce 3 with zero recoil between shots using the God/Demon Isle. Demon gives you 40 shots of Shrapnel, which is like Pierce 3 but has triple the hits, and God gets the Light shot AKA sniper laser beam shot.

Oh the rapid fire. I never really use it much due to how often I use God/Demon Isle and Cham LBG, honestly. But yeah, the new lvl2 and pierce element shots make LBG absolutely insane. The new monsters (Tama, Raizex, Gamuto, Dino) all have LBG's that offer a fucking arsenal of elemental shots. They all end up with something like ~75 each of lvl2, pierce, and lvl2 pierce elemental shots (plus they can rapid fire them). I've actually done hunts where I could kill the monster without ever having to use anything but the built-in ammo.

Toukiden 2 is the first hunting game to implement camera zoom in and out, through the menu, after fan feedbacks, in the demo, after an update.
MH could benefit greatly from taking fan feedbacks, but most of them would be to have better hardware and controls no doubt.
Is the mounting skill useful at all? I just started playing with friends and I find myself mounting monsters at least twice per hunt and having a blast.

Rodeo god is really convenient if you're already using meme knight for whatever reason, but mounting master is pretty meh despite being a 5-slot skill (gems are g-rank) while rodeo god itself isn't worth the 8 slots it'd take to gem it in.
I definitely do notice a difference when I use one of my non-starknight sets during a mount, but it's not worth building a set around unless you're frogging something like gog or fatalis.

I've decided to turn the page and stop being so negative towards X/Gens. Yes it's disappointing but it has it's good parts like the LBG being made into a beast of fun and people may make fun of bushido LS but it is really fun to play. The quality of life improvements are also a HUGE plus no longer having to mash A or select each damn bit of gear to remove the jewel. For the five finger discount I'm getting it at it's really not so bad.
