He said that last week meaning the patch notes would go up this week which means that the patch would be this week. So since we know the new obelisk system is going to make it so the first stat is "locked in" and only the ones below it get rerolled when you upgrade. What is the best stuff to aim for (just in general) for custom gears? I'm trying to 'prepare' for the update by having as much low level obelisks as I can on "good stats" since only 2 of my characters at 60 even have a custom gear equipped. If I have some decent stat shit when the update comes though and I can just focus on upgrading them until I get something with good secondaries as well though I think I'd be able to get some stuff going.
Obviously the resist sucks ass, but what of the main stats are most ideal? As far as I can tell based on my +0 gears the best imo seem to be:

I would recommend upgrading as many to +1 as possible right now and keeping the ones that roll a first stat which you can't get on standard gears. That means All Def, Max HP, Immune to Guard Break, and Defense Penetration. After the update, it will become (nearly) impossible to get a gear with one of those as the first stat.

Even if you take out X-men and Fantastic Four characters, Avengers Alliance has 141 playable heroes. That's 141 (with an additional 35 FF/X characters) before they got around to adding Richard Rider.
In comparison, MFF has 77 characters and only gets 1-3 new characters a month on average.
Bill Roseman, the guy who decides what characters get to be added into Marvel games, has said that his favorite characters are Darkhawk and Richard Rider Nova, but he still has to have the games prioritize characters they're currently trying to push in the movies and comics over his personal favorites.
So, good chance that Richard Rider will get added eventually, but it won't be until after the roster has hit such a point where they've already added most of the Marvel mainstays. We don't even have the inhumans yet and you know how much Marvel loves pushing the fuck out of the inhumans.

Best R1BAM pack is x500 tiered sales (but the initial cost is wayyyy too steep at 4500 crystals) so second best is the limited quantity sales that have x200 R1BAM, x100 CSN and 500,000 gold at 1500 crystals.
And even if you don't have 1500 shekels lying around, waiting for R1BAM flash sales are slightly better value than buying from the consumables tab, even the x20 flash sales.

How the ever loving fuck do you have over 10k energy? If you have an energy surplus then you aren't actually playing the game. Why not just set it to auto-repeat to get your daily grind in? That's what it's there for.
As for Avengers Alliance, if you didn't start playing the game years ago then you'll never be able to catch up. The grind there is just as rough as the grind in MFF, but without the benefit of auto-play/auto-repeat to automate 90% of the grinding.

What is the state of BW right now? I've been leveling and ranking up mine slowly but surely for an ignore dodge striker, but from what I can tell she doesn't seem all that good outside of that. Whenever I see her in timeline or BW I'm never worried and even when I use my own (who's still level 55 with decent gear) she doesn't seem very strong.
That said she is still a firecrotch qt and I'd love to make her work. Is there any likelihood her new uniform might make her a serious force (similar to a uni like blingpin or elsa)?

There's currently 77 characters in the game and 65 uniforms (uniforms ranging from simple aesthetic changes to bringing skill reworks, some completely revamping characters). Each character has 6 skills (with one being a passive skill).
Majority of the characters can be farmed but there's many which can only be farmed through biometric selectors (biometrics are used to rank up characters). With currently only 1 (ONE) character being completely paywall (but available through newbie player gifts).

Worth noting that there is a "bio subscription" for 8.50, that gets you 20 bios for a character of your choice each day for 30 days. By the end you can get 600 bios, and it takes 580-620 bios to take a character to max rank. This is also the only way to get Carnage.

You get one free "daily chest" each day. It'll give you a random 1* character. If you already have the character then it'll give you 8 type bios (combat/speed/universal/blast) to spend on whatever character you want.
How bios work is that each character ranks from 1* to 6* with 6* being max rank and what you're shooting for. To rank up a character, you need to get a certain number of their bios:

>2*: 20
>3*: 40
>4*: 80
>5*: 160
>6*: 320
You can get bios different ways. Some characters are farmable, where you can get a certain number of their bios daily from Story Missions, Special Missions, and Dimension Rifts. Other characters are unfarmable and you can only get their bios from using bio selectors on them (like the ones you get from the free daily chest, bio subscription, or selector packages).
There's also the Mega-Rank Up Ticket which will take a character straight from 1* to 6* that's on sale in the store for 2750 crystals.

If there's a certain character you want that's rare, you realistically participate in the PVP every day for the Crystal reward weekly, you get Crystals on login weekly, and Crystals from daily quests and doing a few levelup achievements. You should be getting the 1450 once a month as a free player to use on sales to buy biometrics for whatever character you want to max out. It's not years, I've been F2P for a year now and have 13 6 star characters, and only 3 of them are easily farmable(Ultron,Black Widow and Blade). The rest are rare memesters like Silk and Wasp

It's the fairest game I've ever seen with mobile microtransactions, because you're totally viable as a bum. I do the PVP dailies in about 15 minutes, and I grind a bit more with the auto pilot for at most an hour a day while doing other stuff. The level 50-60 grind is pretty intense though. Blade is pretty lackluster at first, but once you've maxed out his rank and gotten his uni he becomes beast mode. His 6* skill will kill pretty much everyone, and the rest of his skills complement him greatly. He's really easy to farm too so getting him to 6* won't take too long.

WBs are immune to CC, so it'll be useless. You'll already be using Ronan for his leadership though for WB.

SCD is nice and all, but with cards, you hardly need it. We won't really know how good he is until we see what his revised kit is like.

Good increase to survivability but WBs hit so hard that he'll still probably die too fast to be that useful. His leadership is decently useful for WB though so if you're already using him for that, might be worth getting.

Exact same as his current one, which is certainly WB viable and a huge help to his survivability. Especially against Black Dwarf.

Same as her current one, and WBs are immune to guard break so useless.

You'll only really be using her as a striker against Corvus where her buff won't proc, and WBs are immune to widows bite.
So, assuming no skill changes, Iron Fist is good if you don't already have his uni. Malekith's is good, but only worth getting if you already plan on using him for his leadership. Ronan, Mockingbird, and Black Widow are useless ability wise, but the 10% boost to stats might be worth having if only to squeek out a little bit more DPS from them as strikers (since you'll be using Ronan for his leadership, and Black Widow and Mockingbird for their dodge ignore strikers against Corvus), and Yondu may or may not be worth getting depending on how his current kit looks post-patch.
Also remember that Hyperion is PAYWALL like carnage, so while rank-up ticket will work you'll still need the bio subscription to get the initial 20 bios needed to unlock him. Assuming they don't do a giveaway which I highly doubt they'll do.

Elektra is practically unusable (though she'll be getting a buff in the next few months... hopefully) and Lash is awful, but the rest are all generally fine. It's less that there are characters that are really bad and more that there are certain characters that are really good.
Generally, Elektra, Drax, and Lash are the worst of their types (speed/combat/blast) and should be avoided unless you REALLY like the character. Generally though you don't want to use any of the new player goodies they give (like rank up tickets) on characters that can be farmed. Check Story Mode and Special Missions to see which ones those are.

It looks like instead of pressing upgrade every level for gears, it'll do it all automatically with one button press, given you have all the materials, but ONLY up to level 15
Then from 15+ the auto option will only level at a single level per press. It'll act like as if you constantly press upgrade and fill up the bar, but of course going from 15 -> 16 is based on RNG so that's why it says the materials used may vary.

Did you see Moon Knights? It'll make him fucking unkillable. A 30% heal that triggers on a 7 second cooldown when you hit 30% health? With one of the old 100% recovery gears assuming you still have one, that'd be a 60% heal. it'd take him back up to 90% health, and he has enough i-frames and keep-away that you can easily stay above 30% health for 7 seconds, meaning he'd be in a perpetual loop of healing back up to practically full.
No surprise that the unfarmable character would have the broken T2. Oh well, at least it gives me a reason to start investing in Moon Knight. Too bad getting him to max GUKs along with the 300 combat nornstones and 150 bios will take forever and a whole fuck load of crystals.

Elsa is a top-tier waifu (with her uni at least, uni'd Elsa is one of the best speed characters in the game) and pairs well with Blade. So does ANAD Angela for that matter.
In fact, Elsa/Blade/Angela is the team that I picked as a new player back in November and I've been using them as my main team ever since. No regrets. They all have bonuses with each other, all 3 are good characters, and Elsa's leadership benefits the whole team. Fantastic synergy and my favorite team composition.
Follow your heart though. We used to call this game Marvel Waifu Fight for a reason. Worth noting that there are two PAYWALL characters that you'll want to use at least 2 of those 3 "20 bio selectors" you get as a new player on just to unlock. You can use a mega-rank up ticket on them down the line to max them out. The first is Carnage. The second is Hyperion who is coming out tonight after the patch.

I never thought we'd get a CW special mission, that wouldn't have made much sense. When you consider that the other two special missions are Ant-man and GotG, CW doesn't really fit those two (sequel, all of the characters were already in the game and farmable, less straight forward as to which side is the "right side"). CW's gimmick makes more sense for a faction battle type thing, whereas a special mission for it wouldn't have been able to keep the "civil war" element of it. There's no good guys vs. bad guys there, it's "choose your side" and you wouldn't really get that choice out of a special mission.
Ant-man is straight forward good guys vs. bad guys featuring characters that weren't in the game yet. Same with GotG. Dr. Strange fits that mold where none of his characters or even Strange himself are in the game yet, and its a straight forward good vs. evil.

Technically they're not. It's just that now instead of getting to go no-limit on the same stage, it has to be split up. The Progress Bar/No Limit/Stage Entries are split between special missions, so you can get one no limit on Ant-man and one no limit on GotG now.
Making it hard to farm one specific character, but not really effecting the overall amount of special missions you can do (other than having 2 6 less general entries a day).
Of course, thanks to MODOK being on both, he'll still be super easy to farm. In fact, this change makes him the easiest character in the game to farm, since it makes GM harder to farm.

Increase your main characters' gear levels if they're already at +5, and learn to kite the boss attacks so they don't hit you so much. Related to the gear levels thing, make sure to reroll their secondary stats so they're actually helping you. First gear's secondary (changeable) stats should all be either physical or energy attack, depending on which of those shows in that character's stats screen, all attack is good too if you happen to roll it. Second gear should have all defense, third is HP, and the fourth can be just about anything from defense penetration to skill cooldown, but none of the options will help you much at early levels so you can leave that one alone for now. Avoid any "by lvl" stats while you're still low-level unless they land in the very first slot.

The best way to make your characters stronger is to rank them up. If they're only ranks 1* or 2* then they're gonna be pretty useless. The new player check-in rewards are EXTREMELY generous these days, by the end of your first week of playing (since you get something new each day you log-in), you'll have been given enough to take a character of your choice straight to max rank.
A max rank character can carry you through at least the first 7 chapters without any problem solo. You'll also be getting another max rank character from the Journey of Growth quest line which you start gaining access too... I'm not sure exactly when since it was added after I was already way past the point where I was allowed to do it, but I imagine early on.

For both Alliance games, yes, it's basically Pokemon + Mahvel plus loads of grinding, however, there are many main differences:
Alliance 1 has:

Wait really? How? Like, Ronan and Malekith's MCU looks are decent enough but their comic unis are objectively better. There's something to be said for having color in a superhero game. MCU Ronan is just this towering all black figure and that's just lame to look at. It was fine in the movie but boring in the game, whereas the green makes him stand-out more. Malekith's is alright, but the two-tone face is better looking than the random burn scar and the dullness of the black and white is likewise kinda lame.
That's my general problem with most of the MCU unis. When I think superheroes and supervillains, i think vibrant and distinctive colors. Most of the MCU unis have this kinda drab look about them with a lot of blacks and greys and when they do use color, they're usually pretty toned down.
Obviously this isn't always the case considering Captain America's Civil War uni is less colorful than his default (the Avengers uni) yet looks significantly better and Star-Lord's Space Armor uni has more color to it than his default, but his default still looks better, but that's generally my problem with most of the MCU unis in-game. I prefer MCU Daredevil over default Daredevil, etc.
Like, when I think Hawkeye I think PURPLE, not black with a tiny hint of purple if you really squint. When I think of Ronan I think GREEN with a blue face, not black with a blue face that's covered in 50% black paint. When I think Mockingbird, I think White and Blue/Black, not black and grey. It's a lot of stuff like that where the colors that I most associate with these characters are either absent or extremely toned down and drab in the MCU unis, which is totally understandable for a movie because those colors would just look tacky in live-action, but when it comes to a video game that's not a problem. Especially when the video game is a mix of comic and MCU, the MCU just looks lame in contrast most of the time.

They consolidated it. Instead of 12 a day, it's 3 a day. They increased the rewards to accommodate so it'd still be the same amount of rewards you'd be getting for less time spent. The downside of course is that now you'll have to do a mission on the equivalent of the VS 10-12s to get what you'd be getting from doing multiple easy VSs before.
We'll see how it pans out. I think it's actually a decent change, but then, VS never really took any time to do in the first place since all of them but VS 10-12 were easy as fuck, and I never bothered with VS 10-12 since the rewards were garbage. Now going to have to fuck around with the whole "use one character to get their health down to a sliver before killing them off" shit for the "hard" difficulty.

So from what little testing I've done with Hyperion, it looks like his 1* and 2* are really slow and open him up to too many attacks making them useless.
But his 3* heal has i-frames on it, making it a safe way to get back health, his 5* is i-frame city, and his 6* while not having i-frames is a massive damage dealer.
Seems like the go to with him will be recovery gear to maximize the use of his 3*, using his 5* for the i-frames, and then using his 6* for maximum damage, while spending anytime that the three are on cooldown kiting.

Or Yondu. But he's more bittersweet. I think base Yondu looks better, and I love the arrow attacks, but Gundo obviously is a hell of a lot faster, like a alien version of Elsa almost.
Also I notice he randomly has orbital energy beams blasting down now, I don't know what that is, but its awesome as fuck.

Technically, none of the new unis are exactly the same as the old ones. Mockingbird's has two skill reworks and Iron Fist's changes his 3* from a dodge boost + taunt to a dodge boost + defense debuff against the enemy, making the new one better since taunt is useless while defense debuff is pretty good.
