This is Stellaris thread
Civfags get out to /gsg/
>there are people right here in this thread who don't evolve separate sub-species for mining, working the power plants, and scientific research
Whats your excuse?Hint: enslaving inferior plebs and polluting your planets with their filth is not a valid excuse.
Can you stack researcher boni to play RNGesus?
>computing expert not only increases research speed in computing, but also the chance of computing related tech to come up
>put computer specialist in every slot
does this even work for researchers on science ships who are assisting research? Are they factored into RNG?
>>145257731
Coz it doesn't matter really.
>>145257731
Apparently militarists don't resettle or purge
>what is any dictatorship of the last 100 years
Holy shit, venerable (+120 years lifespan) is fucking insane, especially when my beautiful drakkar dragons live only in the capital while the rest of my empire is madfe of Synthetics.
I've literally never had to replace a dead leader yet, and the technologic progress is making them almost immortal.
>>145258229
>embracing the robo dick
>>145258229
>build around leaders
>keep every shitter instead of min maxing for the good ones
why?
>>145258317
I like it big and metallic right up my draconic cloaca.
>>145258336
Because Insane difficulty, Xenophobe and 39 Advanced AI starts (posted in the previous thread too), Influence is more precious than gold and rivalries are a death sentence. God bless i've been surrounded by 2 empires only, embassies are my saving grace.
People with HRS mod, do the portraits animate in the same way the standard human ones do?
>>145258735
your crazy with the advanced starts. I saw that in the other thread just thought it was bs. And insane, damn. hope your pc is good.
Normal with no advanced starts is easy and what I'm playing. As it turns out all the modded interesting races are weak or my slaves, and some random combo is currently the strongest by luck and being far from me.
>>145257731
because its a fucking hassle trying to do it efficiently, especially because you can't see a pop's traits or ethics on the resettlement screen. Trying to resettle five different pops (cash, minerals, and three different sciences) onto 7 different 25 tile worlds is tedium without compare
>been asking my friend to get stellaris, but he always said no because no money
>finally just decide to buy him a copy
>he installs, and we skype and play all night, purging and conquering
Feels good man
>>145259389
You're doing god's work!
A friend giftet me stellaris and we're going to lan it this week.
>>145258229
you've inspired me to make a venerable race too anon.
>>145258229
>>145259653
Best Venerable is Based Turtles.
Unlike previous FE smashes, this time it feels a bit sad. Hundred years into the future, they've done nothing but like me - but here I am, stomping them just so that I can reach the Unbidden. It was rare having a FE that didn't instantly hate my guts for something.
Maybe I'll make a mural on one of your former planets about your empire that once stood within that area.
>want to play extradimensionals
too bad they look so lame. The unbidden's femurs are spread like labia
>>145258735
What's the point? You can't wage war, you have no space to expand.
>>145259314
You can, it shows up when you mouse over them
Its a huge pain in the ass i agree, but what else are you going to do besides blob?
So my fight has begun. But those are some terrible odds for a 83k fleet against a roughly 40k Unbidden fleet, who has another 50k - 60k from what I remember somewhere around the portal.
I may have left it to the point where the Unbidden can no longer be held back.
>>145259986
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush his achievement and remove all record of his very existence. From that defeat there is no recovery. That is the meaning of victory."
>>145261595
You can bait their fleet with a small sacrifice then attack the portal. Thats what I did. Maybe the defense stations will fuck you up though.
>>145261783
Once the portal is destroyed, their fleets will leave their home system piecemeal over a few years. Allowing you to kill them one at a time.
>Skip blue lasers for administrative AI
>blue lasers never appear again
>I hit antimatter tech before I get offered a new non salvage beam weapon.
This is a fucking turn-based strategy game. I can press space and it'll take a few seconds for it to pause.
>>145261595
>Fighting Unbidden
>Not using torps
I've read posts about how the Shielded World was usually a disappointment with a space monster such as an Amoeba popping up, but guess my surprise when a former admiral of a FE turns up instead.
Admiral from a race that managed to be the little girl and fell due to having no further goals beyond that? Yes please
How long does the recently conquered buff apply?
>>145262694
No, that's just standard Paradox.
>>145261595
Can't you just out-produce them?
You seem kind of weak considering its already 2371
>>145262969
Thats pretty cool. One of those green glowy words you need a science ship to get through?
>>145262995
The Beautiful Battle mod changes a lot of the weapons and such, so the fleet power of everything is a lot lower than it actually 'is'. For example, FEs start out with between 80k - 90k fleet power with the mod on.
I like leaving the mod on because it slows down combat speed and stops most fights from turning into a 'ram into each other at full speed, become a big entangled mess' everytime. The only ships that really do that with the mod on are those with Combat AI on - otherwise they fly in to a certain range then start splitting into two most of the time, but never actually getting too close to each other.
>hyperlane only game
>psi jump research appears
>research the shit out of that sweet nightmare drive
And that's how the galaxy burned kids
>>145263124
Yeah, the one that's usually within the borders of a Spiritualist FE. I had moved a small fleet nearby because I wasn't keen on losing the scientist inside the ship, and wasn't expecting this at all.
>Stomping the AI
>Divide fleet in two
>Send one fleet to chase a much smaller fleet
>Later it appears they are chasing them to a very far away nothing part of the galaxy
>Finally get there; the whole federations fleets are here
>Together almost worth as much as my divided fleet
So the AI seems to hide their fleets when they can't win, I had no idea.
>>145263392
I opened one of those green glowing things and got a 6k alien fleet that remained missing for eternity, its cool that other stuff can be in there.
>>145263392
>>145262969
>Definately not a reference to pic related
>>145263567
Hm? Who is this faggot?
>>145263567
I want greg bear to fucking leave
>>145263672
didact from halo, forerunner who sounds like harbringer and is all about removing humans.
>>145263526
If your combined fleet is stronger than the enemy's fleet, they'll keep away until you either manage to catch them or until your fleet(s) are weaker than one of their fleets either because you split them or they reinforced their fleet enough.
That does mean it's easy to catch the enemy this very same way - split the fleet so that they'll go after the smaller fleet, while having the bigger fleet near enough that you can either warp on top of them or within the system but directly where they'll warp into.
Is there any actually good and balancedat least as balanced as average paradox gamemod adding new weapons and research?
>>145264803
No.
Game is still patched and modding autist are now all about HoI4.
>>145264803
>mods
>balanced
>ever
>>145264639
Thats a good strategy for catching them. Being lazy I usually just make a pursuer fleet which chases the enemy fleet until they eventually catchem. The reason i was surprised is I followed one fleet to the ass end of the galaxy and they were all there. The whole federation armada.
>>145265329
the AI uses exactly 1 (one!) fleet
which is the main cause of blobbing in the game, if they would actually split their forces intelligently you would have to do the same to keep up
The extra admiral was really helpful, because I was flying around in a single big fat fleet and it was getting to the point where with the current forced 'triangle' formation it was the same was throwing some ships away.
Now I can have them clear out the Unbidden's Void Junctions two systems at a time. I'll make my way to the portal, eventually. I can already jump in there but I don't want to rush this, since I plan on dropping Frontier Outposts along the way.
>>145264803New Ships & Realistics ShipsNew Ship Classes & More
>>145265609
when they are in disarray it almost seems like they have more than one fleet, but actually all these little fleets must be heading towards the bulk of the one fleet. Hmm.
There's no real need for me to actually send science ships to look at those anymore, but I still do it anyway.
Newfag here. How do I find the map view that defines an Empire's "space"?
Why can't I just build mining stations in another empires clay (vacuum?) if they don't even have the fleet to defend it anyway? This is fucking bullshit.
The Wessari admiral turned out to not be a little girl and is somehow lower than 40 years old despite claiming to be on that shielded world for at least 40 years, but despite starting out as a level 5 admiral with Gale-Speed and Logistician, she's gotten pretty impressive from just a few extra battles.
>>145267750
I read the admiral name as Turbokek for a second.
>>145262969
Still never had a shieldworld appear
Does the Unbidden eventually run out of fleets to send through the portal? After destroying a few 13k-15k fleets, it seems like as if this is all they have left.
>>145257584
what is /4xg/'s consensus on Aurora vs Stellaris?
if you put computer expert in every researcher position, does it increase the chance of AI tech coming up?
so with the latest update, is it still corvette spam that wins battles or what is the winning strategy now? battleships with tachyon lance and crystal plate defence?
Thoughts on Trait addition mods?
Are there any good or comprehensive ones?
With the end of the Unbidden War, here begins the real action - the rush for the unclaimed space left behind by the Unbidden
>>145269318
The evasion nerf to corvettes make it such that fielding the old 300 corvette fleet will result in massive losses now, or not even win at all.
I pretty much just run Cruiser + Battleship fleets now, although starting to move more towards having nothing but Battleships. Even Destroyers don't last long enough to make them worth it.
>>145269710
Was that meant to quote my traits question?
Rate, and no hate.
Where we stand right now.
Hearts of Iron 4 is presently out front, but its first-day peak is still quite pitiful at less than 2/3rds that of Stellaris.
Question, will the sector AI build planet unique buildings?
>>145270146
I hope you name your ship types chicken, liver, meowmix, meowmix, and please deliver.
By the way....
>>145270493
Which one's which?
I... I dunno. They have nice traits as a species, but...
>>145270713
Do eet
>>145270493
Blue = Hoi4 I assume since it came out after stellaris.
Green = Stellaris?
>>145270567
I'm guessing stellaris is green since that would probably be the default colour on steam and it's on top of the list
then hearts of iron would be blue since it comes in late, and that leaves civ 5 for orange
>>145270173
How/where you get this data?
Aren't Pardox take out their titles from a Gmae Sp?
>both planets AND pops increase tech cost
Jesus christ who thought this was a good idea? I'm running at 200% increased tech costs already and it's been 50 years.
>>145271480
I like it, it's more scalable and flexible than if you just made techs more costly as you go deeper into the tech tree and makes being techy demand you to actively specialize in it rather than it being a side effect of blobbing.
One of the few good systems in this game.
>>145271630
You're 100% forced to blob though, you'll never be able to keep up with the AI without a ton of spaceports and pops to increase your naval capacity.
>deactivate gameplay mods to try for achievements
>have a battle where every ship clips through each other
>immediately reactivate them
Game is unplayable without beautiful battles desu.
>>145272080
All that means is you build labs every so often instead of spamming resouce buildings.
>>145266625
Are these compatible with different shiptypes, like Fallen Empire ships?
Age of Wonder 3 just got put up for sale on GoG. Is it worth $10? I've played Civ 3, 4 and 5 quite a bit but haven't touched any other games like it.
>>145271630
While having the 0.25 Influence per month cost for Frontier Outposts mod really helped in this regard, in the game as the Idols I literally sat on 9 total planets for about 70 years. While it did mean that my fleet capacity was pretty low for quite some time, it meant I could research all the way to Tachyon Lances by that time as Pacifists. As a Militarist you'd probably reach there sooner.
Taking that amount of time also meant that I could take my time to terraform all the planets I've found along the way.
>>145272080
But this way teching up early and catching up in wideness vs blobbing early and catching up in tech is an actually meaningful choice.
>>145272340
Aow 3 is pretty fun if you don't mind really bad 3d leader models that makes civ 3 leaders look good.
>>145272340
it's a wargame more than a 4x, but it's a fun one with great tactical battles
fuck shrines of smiting
>>145272349
Expansion stagnation is due to sectors and core planet cap rather than the tech system though.
I just want to be able to trust sector ai to properly develop the planets I feed it.
>>145272492
>>145272680
Thanks.

>tfw nobody cares about Endless Legend anymore
He came up (you do not write) to offer a little. They hooked him (you do not declare) like a fish. Their knives (you do not suggest) were dark and sharp as the Mountain's daughter. He screamed then (you have not recorded) and they opened their mouths, red and white and rich with treasure. O but the feast was too short: sweet as the stars, bitter as the sun, all with that old redolence (which you might well footnote) of a certain ammonia. He breathed (your ink does not flow) until his vents were stifled with tears. If he had a soul (you might conjecture; you do not conjecture) it would have skipped and sizzled like rich blood on a griddle.
what game details make for the best games?
>>145273213
what did he mean by this?
>>145273234
game settings then
game calls it game details
>>145273291
wow, why is stellaris so unpopular? all my friends are playing it.
I'm never sure what to do when it's time to expand. You get such huge penalties from conquering AI, even if said AI hate each other, that inevitably everyone will turn against you and often form alliances/federations.
How do you deal with it? Do you just say fuck it and take on the entire universe or is there some other way I'm missing?
>>145273342
6.3
And mods can only fix so much.
Mid game being a boring slog and the ui giving zero feedback can't be fixed by mods.
HoI4 looks even more boring though, I really don't see its appeal and I've played eu, vicky, and civ to death.
Does anybody else think there aren't enough names for colonies as a human? Is it just me or do you already get three colonies named Wu Ding by the time you have 1/4 of the galaxy?
I might make a mod to add more.
>>145273587
HOI4 is too easy anon.
Did you try Darkest Hour and its mods?
>>145273850
I only ever played DH with kaiserraich.
I played hoi3 too and the most fun part of that was developing the oob.
>>145274053
Try World in Flames 2 anon.
Its basically ww2 with tweaked campaign for Germany.
USSR ai can actually stall Barbarossa and beat you .
I found some old screenshots of this WWII total war game.
Anyone here actually play it?
Apparently it was some early access thing that died around 2012.
>>145273602
Yeah, on larger galaxies it becomes silly.

Lets see what i found...
Weird...its gone from Steam?
http://steamcommunity.com/app/98510
>>145274852
Yeah, like I said, literally dead game
>>145274852
What else...torrents are dead...might as well do this. Even if it doesnt work i wont be sad over 1 yuro.
Both game publisher and developer are defunct...and game is in legal limbo.
Steam cannot sell it but they can still host it.
>>145272419
But it isn't you can always blob your way out then turn half of planets into research worlds and get your tech up to date by going to war with smaller but more advance faction and scavenging the shit out of them so blobbing is always a better choice.
>>145275101
Also found it on Kinguin.
Guess it still works.
How can I make the scourge or unbidden stronger? Their puny 80k fleets are like sticks in the end game compare to all the Federation they appear in.
Private colony ship. Is it any good?
>>145275808
make them appear earlier
>>145275959
I think its just a cheaper colony ship where you don't pick ethics, never bothered with it myself
>>145275959
20 minerals or 1 month for no ethic choice is a bad tradeoff anon, not to mention it wastes your research time
>>145276000
>crisises
>appear earlier
I don't think that will *fix* it.
Is the AI competent at auto making ship designs or do I need to do it myself?
Also, best weapons path for mid-late game?
>>145275808
Turn them into repeatable invasions, first wave is 20k second 40k third 80k and like that until you finally die.
Too bad White Wolf doesn't own the rights to Emperor of the Fading Suns anymore.
Stellaris could have been a new version of this
>>145276491
Laser types anon.
Lasers all the way.
The tables have turned, xenofags test their own medicine
>where are your own ayy lmao x-com defense forces now?
>>145274587
I played it. Pirated version.
I think. Or maybe from CD magazine?
It wasn't II world war but modern time.
Think it has scenarios for civil war in USA too but can be wrong.
When does the new stellaris patch come out, is it 1.2?
Jump drive or womhole guys?
>>145276491
Always design yourself. The AI does a really shit job of making them.
>>145257584
Who /pumped/ for the next Civ?
If they really got everything that's in 5 in the basic version, It's going to be awesome! Only those Eureka moments seem to be a bit cheesy.
>>145276491
>Is the AI competent at auto making ship designs
Generally not, depending on what tech you have.
>best weapons path for mid-late game?
Energy. Always. A few reasons:
1) range. Tachyon Lances out-range every other weapon and, combined with the fact that fleets slow down so much in combat, means you can take down quite a lot of shield/hull before the opponent gets in range with puny lesser weapons
2) Energy weapons hit instantly and don't have travel time
3) connected with 2, missiles disappear mid-travel if either their target or the ship they were fired from are destroyed. So in the first case you've wasted precious DPS on a target that doesn't exist anymore.
Missiles and projectiles have slightly better performance against Unbidden and highly shielded targets, but you'll have Disruptors by that point and hundreds of destroyers with Lances so it doesn't even matter.
>>145280779
not him but when is a good point to transition into energy?
>>145280568
>Civ 6
We are playing Endless Legend already, fuck off.
What is the speed of hyperlanes compared to warp? Is there an advantage or does it get fucked late game when warp engines are teched out?
>>145280779
I've taken out 60k fleets with 15k Tachyon lances. It's so easy once you've got a buffer fleet of auto cannons/torpedos.
Tachyon lances need a range nerf or something. They're too good.
>>145280928
As early as possible, frankly. That or survive a fight with a fallen empire relatively early on in the game (even if you lose the war, if you're able to kill off a splinter fleet of say 10-12k in friendly space you'll be able to unlock research the debris for the highest level tech immediately)
>>145281371
The real problem is the AI. Fleets don't properly envelope the enemy, thereby moving all their short-ranged weapons into optimal range. Instead, the AI sends in ships almost one-by-one to get chewed up by Lances. Ships generally need to be faster in the opening stages of combat.
What's the optimal amount of science ships exploring at the start?
>>145282314
3 to 6 depending on location and travel system
Midgame they all go to assist research on planets
>>145281236
Hyperlanes get faster too with time. It's pretty ok late game desu, nowhere near wormhole levels though.
I prefer to play wormhole only games.
>>145281517
Do teh FEs use the same ship blueprint every time?
>>145283838
Yes. They all use Zero-Point Reactors, Phased Disruptors, Tachyon Lances, Hyper Shields and Neutronium Armor, which are all level 5 tech at the end of their respective trees. They also have advanced combat computers, impulse thrusters and either level 3 jump or psi jump drives.
So even if you can't get enough debris from them to unlock the tech fully, if you can take down part of a fleet you can unlock the ability to research those techs, possibly even way earlier than normal.
>>145284182
>They all use Zero-Point Reactors
Which doesn't matter because FE ship loadouts break their power supply limits anyway.
>>145284182
>no point defense
le missiles and torpedo spam faec
>>145284884
Remember: missiles disappear mid-flight if your ship gets destroyed. And they disappear if your target is destroyed. But I mean, sure, the game's easy enough that you can just plow through FE's with whatever tech you want.
>>145284364
Using meme magic?
>>145285123
>missiles disappear mid-flight if your ship gets destroyed
I didn't know that.
But it figures that the paraducks would fuck things up this way.
Does anyone have the government ranking image?
>>145285654
That's why you use fighters, you dumb dino.
>>145257584
is vanilla Stellaris good? is there something I should download from Stellaris OP?
>>145288654
>mega corporation in the middle
What about agendas anon...
>putting 10% research gov above it when 10% research agenda exists
>>145289385
It's mediocre. If you really like space 4x you might get your moneys worth. Paradox said they'll continue patching it and putting expansion packs up so who knows, it could get a lot better or a lot worse.
How do we fix military republics and juntas?
>>145290520
Its simple.
We kill Johan.
Why the fuck do I automatically lose my mining stations without a fight when some shitskin Xeno's expends their stupid bubble?
What the determines borders anyway? Population or military power?
>>145288654
I'd think that military republic would be higher in MP games where people just try to cheese in the early game.
>>145288470
>mfw I spammed tonnes of corvettes and DDs early on and don't want to scrap them all now

Thanks.
Fucking breeder prejudice desu senpai.
>>145293095
>>145293348
>have corvettes and destroyers
>just upgrade to designs that use fighters
>>145293825
You upgrade them to close range ships with PD so your cruisers and BBs don't have to bother with them as much
>>145293825
You can upgrade the dds and corvettes with PD and weapons that work more efficiently with fighters/bombers spam
>>145293825
if you're gonna play with carriers and shit then your DDs and Ks serve as meatshields to defend your hammer and the anvil to occupy the enemy
They also serve as a screen to keep attacks from going to your larger, harder to replace ships since any planet can just shit out Ks and its not hard to get DD stations either
>>145294369
>>145294531
But the FE uses lances and energy weapons.
>have wormhole generator
>build torpedo ram cruisers and destroyers
>line abreast
>charge at enemy fleet
>enemy fleet always stays just out of ramming range trying to lure fleet away from planet
>open wormhole next to enemy fleet
>torpedo ram battleships cruise through after kinetic kill asteroids
Reminder that wormholes would be OP as fuck if they work like they do in Stellaris and aren't intentionally gimped
>>145295335
Fleets can be organized into formations?
What the everliving fuck was the point of rebranding Enemy Starfighter?
>>145299126
AI automatically does shit for range
What endgame traits should my fanatic collectivist pacifist space bees have? I started with conformists, communal and weak.
>>145258229
How do you prevent AI rebellion? Just don't enslave them?
>decide to let the unbidden run wild in my galaxy
>multiple warring unbidden factions spawn claiming they've been chasing each other
>unbidden engage in a war
>most people who doomstack the portal ASAP will never see this
D E E P E S T L O R E
Of all the shit this game fucked up, the flavor isn't one of them.
>>145300290
Are they all hostile?
>>145300290
>implying I want to clean up after multiple unbidden factions instead of just one
Anybody else live in constant fear that you will be defeated because you don't have the APM of a South Korean Starcraft player?
I keep doing things like forgetting to pause time when I'm reading menus, leaving ships idle, forgetting to build things on colonies, etc. How fucked am I?
>>145300602
They're all hostile, including to each other, implying some sort of extradimensional war.
>>145299126
I assume you can just have a fleet of corvettes/destroyers and a fleet of bigger ships with a few escorts and run them in the same general area.
>>145299756
Does the combat Combat AI technology research improve how your ships respond in battle; or is it just a percentage modifier?
>>145300735
Just do what I do. Never play multiplayer.
>>145299907
If you give them full rights, they won't rebel against you.
However, if another empire enslaves it's synths and triggers an AI rebellion, your synths will happily join said rebellion and begin to remove organics, so if you go nuts with synth populations, you'll get fucked even if you treated them really well.
Basically intelligent machines are a mistake.
>>145300290
Is it possible to encounter Unbidden and the Prethoryn Swarm at the same time? Will they fight each other?
>>145301117
no AI improvement, but I'm pretty sure the AI distances ships by weapon range
correct me if I'm wrong
>>145301385
No, only one crisis per game without mods. So once you've got the Swarm you can happily use jump drives or abuse the shit out of your robots.
In 300 months you better look out...

>>145307043
I didn't have Terraforming researched. It was 75 years into the game. Also I couldn't settle shittier planets for the same reason - no research.
I couldn't expand to build more research facilities.
Also suppose you colonize two systems 1-2 systems apart. How do you connect the borders? The AI somehow do it magically over large distances.
The Unbidden couldn't have dropped in in a better place.
They landed far away from me, right in between the two largest, most aggressive empires who also happened to both form the two largest alliances in the galaxy; and right besides (literally two systems) next to a FE.
Then they proceeded to kick the shit out of everyone.
Both alliances disintegrated and now everyone is scrambling to be part of the next big bloc. Old rivalries are forgotten and new ones made in a rush to exploit the situation, and almost everyone has completely lost their navy.
Except for me.

Happiness boosting is the meme.
Here's something I just recently realized about xenophobe slaver empires, which can breed trouble once slave revolts are fixed and enabled. You do NOT want negative ethics divergence on your slave races. If they have, they'll drift towards your ethics, which will also make them xenophobes. And once they are xenophobes, they have a -20% Alien Overlords happiness modifier. Which will make them unhappy unless you've done something to improve slave happiness, and likely lead to revolts.
Of course, if you enslaved xenophobes, they'll probably be on the barricades from day one. And you'll want individualists even less, they take multiple happiness hits from various collectivist policies, and will probably be in perpetual revolt. Best slaves probably are collectivist non-xenophobes.

One job
After initially being boxed in by 3 fallen empires I have risen to galactic dominance. I provoked one of them early on and researched their tech which I then used to destroy them. I purged the ring world FE completely and have populated it with humans. The other two FE's I enslaved, but I purged their gaia homeworlds the Celestial Throne and Cradle/Mother/Brother and settled humans on them. No crisis have occured yet and I've had psi jump drives researched for a couple decades.
I've circled alliances and federations in the same color and I've marked with a green X the nations next on my list to either conquer or liberate. The Avabbian Council has been my steadfast ally since I stepped out from the shadows of the Fallen Empires. The Hissma Star Accord shares our spiritualist ethic and I've been trying to boost relations but my genocide hasn't helped. They're also in an alliance with two tiny nations and I don't know how to break it up. I'm tempted to try and just join their alliance and then invite the Avabbian Council in but I'm worried that won't work. The Imari Empire and their alliance are our largest rivals power wise. I think we have the technological edge but they have larger fleets. The nations circled in red are a federation and have been the target of several wars with myself and the Avabbian's, our mutual disdain for the Meko'Nass (space foxes) brought about our alliance.
Ethics are Militarist, Spiritualist, Xenophobic and my government is a Transcendant Empire.

Guess it's time to wait for patches and content
Do selfbuild empires show up in the game as AI empires? Spend yesterday evening building around 10 of them.
>>145351863
I take the attachments to mean separate more focused/specialized units being attached to the army. Like psi warriors being attached to an army would be like an attachment of grey knights from warhammer 40k being sent in alongside some imperial guard or something. In the case of droids it'd be like adding in some jedi to your droid army unit. The attachments are cool and I wish surface fighting was a little more fleshed out/important. It'd be a cool system if they somehow made your choices of space warfare impact your ground warfare and vice versa, like army and naval doctrines.
If my civilization has used mass waves of units in conflict throughout history that could reflect in someway in our space navy or if we've taken a more specialized approach, focusing on efficiency and equipment to amplify one individuals fighting power could reflect in our ships. We'd rather build a ship with a ton of guns or a ship with lots of fighters/bombers for example..
As of right now the galaxy just reaches a point where everyone is using the same thing, gene warriors and tachyon lances.
Also you shouldn't be able to build every possible type of army, it makes having the choices kind of pointless. Every army type besides the basic assault and defence should require a building like the clone armies do with Clone Vats. Robot armies should require a manufacturing plant, psionic armies some sort of jedi training school, gene warriors should require an expensive space marine-like training and enhancement facilities. Slave armies should require the slave building that already exists that boosts their mineral and food output. They could implement a mercenary army that requires the virtual combat arena and since it's a mercenary army each unit built has different random stats, might be more HP or it might have more attack power, or it might be weaker than a regular assault army, you won't know until you recruit it but it'd be cheaper than other armies.

Little update for those wondering how i've been doing in the Huge, Ellipse, 39 Advanced Aggressive AI Insane challenge (yes, the whole 2 of you)
I actually managed to survive for a fuckton of time, both by using embassies and giving occasional gifts to my neighbouring overlords, all while focusing on tech almost exclusively to get Sentient AI asap.
Once i got the Synths rolling, i tried to expand beyond my starting Frontier Outposts (did i mention more than 50% of the map is covered by AIs by default with these settings?), but border friction was a bitch to my diplomatic status.
The fuckers declared war and forced me to retreat and colonize as many nearby planets as possible (and fill them with robots of course), also spending like 50k minerals to rebuild what the invaders pillaged and raped.
Now the turtling continues, and the Synths tile yelds (thanks to share the burden and happiness) are almost doubled, so i'm researching useful shit like Energy and core planets. If i'll survive another century i'll let you know.

Yeah so we have 3 very spesific builds
1. Picking conformists
2. Playing collectivists
3 . Playing happiness stacking builds and always maintaining joyfull bonus and trying to not conquer opposite ethos.
All other middle grounds can't hold really big empires they will turn into shit with bitching POPs. And really only collectivists can blob without any problems without care about where and what they consume.

I don't for the life of me know why Paradox only decided to use leaders as basically stat boosts for planets/fleets/armies.
Why not allow for each nations leaders to engage in relations with one another? Implement something like CK2 noble relations, only with alien names and titles. This kind of diplomacy can also tie into the current quest system, giving the player something to actually DO in the mid game, where borders are closing and moods switching around. Help nations in exchange for favors or wage proxy wars with independent pawns.
Right now it's just a single number you can weigh with embassies or rivalries.
>>145402876
This is where they fucked up.
They made the game too much 4x and not enough CK2
>>145402985
But CK2 is garbage. We need a more in depth economic system like in Victoria 2. None of this incest garbage that is only relevant in medieval times. Diplomacy on a galactic scale would not revolve around whether or not my leader is married to some vassal's daughter who is also my aunt or whatever weird shit goes on in that game.
CK2 is about characters because there are no nation states. Stellaris has nation states on a galactic scale, with hundreds of billions of people in the galaxy. We need more ECONOMY, DO YOU HEAR ME PARADOX?? STOP WITH YOUR FUCKING SWEDISH KEK BULLSHIT AND INCEST FANTASIES
>>145402985
>CK2 in space
goddamn how hard is it to understand that the appeal of scifi is the characters interactions with all the fancy tech and each other. Not just spaceships and bonuses.
>>145402876
I understand they didn't included noble relations like in CK, building marriage ties with xenos would be probably too much even for Swedes. However space dynasty sim in style of W40 or Dune would be great.
They promised to add some diplomacy in next patch. Proxy wars would be nice, currently I can't even properly subsidize my allies. I also miss trade with technologies like in Distant Worlds.
>>145403690
>goddamn how hard is it to understand that the appeal of scifi is
wat
the appeal of scifi comes to fruition if you shoehorn the ck2 character system into stellaris
even if it doesnt make any sense
there's a hundred things missing from this game, but I'd put incest politics at a low priority
>no internal economy on a planet
>no internal economy between planets
>no external economy and trade between empires with actual trade ships and routes that can be raided
>>145403648
Shut up with this marxist bullshit. Actions even on a nation-state are taken by individuals and you bet that the personal opinions, relations and so on of politicians play a huge part on state affairs. Seriously, go read that Sleepwalkers book, most interesting reading I had in a long time, and really opened my eyes to this matter
so, Stellaris was the first paradox game I've ever played, and while it looked good to begin with it got stale incredibly quickly. I'm pretty much just hoarding resources, building ships, starting wars, expanding, repeat. it honestly feels like cookie clicker in space, zero thought, zero depth, zero micromanagement.
when people say Paradox games are complicated, are they just retarded or are there Paradox games that require brain activity?
if I want a strategy or a 4x game that isn't just "click to expand borders" where should I go? is Distant Worlds good, is Aurora good?
>>145405136
>when people say Paradox games are complicated, are they just retarded or are there Paradox games that require brain activity?
The others are a little better imo, but mostly it's the width rather than the depth that turns people away.
Not to say there isn't any depth.
I think stellaris might need stuff like civilization production.
>>145399537
>>145399170
Nah i'm not big on the idea of being in a voice channel with everyone in 4xg
>>145403690
Your opinion is just wrong. The appeal of sci fi is fancy crazy advanced technology, spaceships shooting at each other in massive battles, and just things in general being on a massive scale. Ringworlds, city ships, weapons, etc. I don't want to have to deal with planetary governors revolting because they don't like me enough because that's in no way how a government would function on a galactic scale. In CK2 people are following people but in any era after the medieval people follow the government/state and not just individuals.
>>145405110
>marxist bullshit
Anon are you retarded? The modern nation-state and the form it would take if we were acting on a galactic scale has nothing to do with communism. Yeah sure individuals are the ones doing the things the state wants accomplished but it's the will of the state empowered by those who allow it to govern (the people) that is at work. It's why individuals do things that aren't in their best interest you fucking retard. CK2 era "i'm gonna do whatever is best for me" doesn't work in any era after the medieval times.
For example a state governor is never going to revolt against the United States because they didn't get along with the President. There's too many complicated and intricate institutions at work and that would only get more complicated and developed on a galactic scale.
is X3 Reunion worth getting if I already have Terran Conflictand hate the plot of the X games?
>>145404474
Ah, I get it.
I should have clarified, I meant to say a system similar to CK2. Instead of being all about inbreeding and assassination, it would instead be about space stuff.

>fast forward a few years
>Finally on the offensive, taking over all pleb hippie nations left and right

>Years later get a pop up explaining that FE on the left closed some portal and did some good shit
Okay... Alright then, only thing I noticed is that the FE's fleet is inferior compared to mine
So, what are the most important things you guys think Stellaris is missing right now?
For me it's in depth diplomacy and trading, not to mention fucking espionage. Paradox made quite a few games with interesting mechanics on this matter, wouldn't be to hard adapting them here. I bet they already have this stuff planned and are just waiting to sell it as DLC.
>>145406303

More indepth economic and supply systems. Pops should be tied to things like armies and fleet size. I shouldn't be able to build hundreds and hundreds of gene warrior armies if I've got 1 planet but currently you can. They need to implement some hearts of iron-like infrastructure and I like the differentiation between civilian and military industry in hoi4. Would be neat in stellaris if it was more than just "do you have enough energy and minerals to build X? Then go ahead"
why are my pops suddenly changing ethics?
now theres separatist factions popping up all over the place and i can't stop it.
>>145405136
Everything pre eu4 was complicated just because of how much was hidden behind the scenes
Ck2 was their first mildly accessible game because you're role playing a character
Eu4 is a lot simpler than most people think. And much to the chegrin of their original fans they keep pushing games in the direction of casual accessibility, making them devoid of actual challenge in the process.
Being accessible is fine. Being brain dead easy because you're too scared to challenge the player isnt.

>>145406059
Oh sorry it really has nothing to do with communism, it's just a rant against marxist historians constant focus on large economical process instead of decisive individual action.
Anyway, I disagree that these politicians and the like are just the performers of the will of the state or the people. There is after all not a single monolithic will in place, the process of decision making in a non totalitarian state is a conflict between several individuals and groups ocuppying positions of influence, pursuing their own agendas. And in many occasions these people operating under little supervision act on their own, creating crisis and dragging, sometimes several, countries into messes that the people in charge didn't want in the first place. I'm not talking out of my ass here, this is pretty much what Christopher Clark argues started the Great War.
>>145408132

I haven't played many 4x games but I got Civ IV and the expansions on sale. Are they intuitive enough that I can just dive in or do I have to be super autistic about it?
>>145416372
It says "radioactive wasteland", so it's a tombworld. Paradox likely arranged for things like that to happen on some tombworlds. The lore is basically that they nuked themselves, but some aspects of their civilization remained. The only tombworld I've seen though was devoid of sentient life, and didn't have any buildings, just ruined city tiles that act as blockers.
So what do integration campaigns do? I always use them on conquered species trying to rebel and I think they work, but does anyone know their actual effects?

What does a striped territory on a map mean?
Hey so i have a question.
Is there any way to spawn the crisis twice in the same game with console commands? ( not at the same time).
The swarm came naturally but was almost instantly killed as it spawned in between the two biggest empires.

The fuckers sent me all their and their mothers fleets, raping planet from planet, but i divided my fleets into a fuckton of small ones and raped station to score 40 points as soon as possible. Sure, every time i lost a planet or station i also lost some score, but for every point i lost i could gain 3 times that amount with hit and run tactics.
In like almost 2 years i managed to reach 100% war score, now i finally have some space for development, now Drakkars are finally worth some shit in the galactic community.
At least until they declare war on me, since my fleets are now shit and i have lost 90% of my spaceports and armies.
Time to purge those fuckers and replace them with good old fashioned Draconic machinery.

Good for you, and from my experiences doing Insane, now you should focus on destroyer and cruiser first.
Ideally, making a fleet of 10k-15k consist of fully destroyer and cruiser, this will act as your fast reaction army then dedicate two of your core planets building two 30k battleships fleet.
This 30k should be composed of 1 snare 1 hull restoration and at least 5 lance-only ships with 2-3 carriers, this set up will gurantee you can vaporise any fleet with less than 30k power. So even when you get pincer like last time you can gurantee get 1 to 3 for each kill.
Remember to forify your frontline with stations, and in the next invasion you should bring with you a construction ship to build low-cost station at choke points to hinder their allies.
God blesses you, lizard.

I have now logged 140 hours in stellaris, and seem to have lost my will to play it, i think it comes down to combat being a whitewash. it all comes down to the first engagement between both main fleets either you lose your entire fleet or you win it no problem either way the war has then been decided and what is left is a grind to take enough planets until you have enough war score to end the war.
Theres no middle ground wars, theres no back and forth, its quite simply just win/lose wars.

You are correct. Maybe there should be like a command limit to force you to split your fleets into smaller chunks, splitting things up. But people would still doomstack, so, idk. >Also better fleet maneuvers that allow actual retreats instead of fight to the absolute death every time
This is what bugs me. I know there's an emergency FTL retreat, but that's about it. No option to keep running away while in combat. If fleets get into a fight, they stop everything and bum rush each other.
>quick lads, run away from that alien fleet! They have five times our numbers!
>sir, they're within engagement range
>fuck it! Everybody turn around and charge!
If Stellaris is going to be an RTS, the least that can be done is allow the player to control their units.
Battles are tiny as well. The scale of space isn't taken advantage of at all. If two fleets are going to fight in a system, have to fight use all the available space to add more variables to the fight. "Terrain" in the form of stars, planets, even nebulas.
>>145467972
It's ant-tier.
>>145468113
Has anybody deciphered exactly how the random technology generation works in Stellaris?
If you keep researching a tech line, the chances of the next tier in that line being available to you increase?
For instance, if you have UV Lasers researched, the chances of X-Ray Lasers being generated next are higher than with the chances of Red to Blue Lasers?
>>145472257
From the code the weight of a tech being pulled from the deck of cards is less the higher the tech.
Means you can grab the necessary techs early and not be fucked by rng

>>145471843
it makes 100% sense, if you are the same speed, an early retreat will let you escape, if you are faster, you can escape more easily, and if you are slower, they will catch up
at which point it makes more sense to try and do damage, and face your good armor the right way, than to die running
from a strategic point of view it means you have to pick and choose your battles

Bomb from orbit until they all die.
Or you force them to liberate planets.
Those liberated planets will form a new nation with your ethics, and you should be able to vassalize them easily.
This will mean the planets your new vassal controls will slowly change ethics, and you will eventually be able to integrate these planets. including an empire capitol if you give the AI enough time to build one.
>>145482004
>bad balance right now means the game will always be bad
Is it me, or do crisis events always seem to come so fucking late in the game that it literally doesn't effect a thing outside of replacing a couple of big fleets.
Even on hard, by the time any crisis event has triggered, I already have a fucking insane navy and I just steamroll the invaders/swarm.
Haven't had the AI rebellion happen yet, I even specifically researched it to see what would happen but I just got swarm instead.
I might just be lucky.
>>145477774
>>145478325
>>145479134
There's some control but it's usually in fleet composition.
And current fleet compositions is:
>a good chunk of point defence to make missiles totally fucking irrelevant
>some autocannons and torpedos to fill in medium/small slots
>maybe throw a couple of fighters/bombers in there to fill in a niche of picking apart people too stupid to put point defense on their ships
>particle lances fucking everywhere
However, you can kind of get away with just particle lances and point defence. Or against AI, you can even get away with torpedoes and point defence.
There needs to be some tactics that you can do beyond simple stat boosting with aura effects and flight computers and using corvette screens. A morale system for fleets might be interesting as well if it doesn't work anything like the shitty one for armies.
>>145479440
I guess I am, now that I look at it.
I'd just like some more options when fighting. Hostile fleets can be coerced into stations, which is nice. But engagements are still just blob vs. blob.
I'm not asking for combat to be realistic either. With ships fighting on a 2D plane though, it'd be nice to have formations. Have a line of missile boats that hang in the back while corvette screens distract the enemy. (Artillery and cav)
Keep some heavily shielded boats as a main line protecting heavily armed, short range vessels that sit behind the main line. (Shields backed by pikes)
That's all battlefield tactics, but it still plays an important role in combat. Even if tactics were all handled by the AI (admiral traits that allow for different formations\maneuvers?), I'd be fine with it.
>>145484265
the idea is that if you can micro to your advantage, then, inevitably, you must micro to your advantage
now consider a large scale campaign with dozens of fleets in the late game, if such a thing were possible
managing the fleets is work enough in itself, it's better to have individual engagements resolve themselves
the problem is when everything boils down to single massive blobs you have nothing to do but watch
see something like "war, the game" for how strategy in stellaris could play out if the AI was halfway competent enough to attack and defend on multiple fronts, forcing you to follow suit or lose a bunch of stuff
retreat even allows fleets to easily escape a larger blob, which would enable this gameplay further
there is the potential for a really interesting system there but unfortunately it's missing about 6 months of fulltime development

That's where the "grand strategy" comes in, though... I've held off attacks by bigger empires (or times I was caught off guard and started to lose anyway. Railguns are cool, I apologize for nothing.) by blowing up their mining stations and starbases, then running away when the fleet catches up, and repeating until the harassment lets your fleet strength catch up or he makes a mistake; I call it the "General Sherman."
This is especially effective if you're faster. I once had an enemy fleet follow mine across my empire with warp drive. I was able to wormhole back to his homeworld, bombard their defenses down, and launch my invasion with just enough time to spare for my fleet to run away again. I won the war, got a couple of worlds, then curbstomped him when the treaty ran out.
What's a fun/interesting/OP build you've played in Stellaris /4xg/? I wanna mix things up a bit.

>>145489749
how do you think it would be done?
>>145489749
There should be a button to merge them on the left I think.
>>145467970
> Maybe there should be like a command limit to force you to split your fleets into smaller chunks
You;re already discouraged to form fleets instead of having all your ships stacked on top of each other
>>145489821
By doing something with the fleets? I don´t know.
>>145489864
Oh. Found it. Thanks, anon.

>>145490297it's a joke because you can't trade tech for some retarded reason
>>145482875
it would be cool if they actually scaled with your strength.
Like if the Unbidden reflected damage back at you and converted your defeated ships into their own, or something.
>>145490445
My bad, does seem odd that's not possible, I didn't know that wasn't allowedbecause I've never spoken to aliens aside from threatening them during first contact and denying their incessant requests for star charts
>>145482875
Get the multiple crisis mod. If they show up together, it's a challenge.
>make space nazi waifus
>can't stop giggling at the names and seeing the swastika everywhere
This isn't right desu but it's hilarious.
>>145489589
You can trade specific techs?

> Election every few years is a nuisance unless you're electing the same leader until they die
Don't tamper with the elections and just let them happen?
>>145489290
Sounds like you need an OLIGARCHYâ„¢ my friend!
Guys, what if there was a crisis like in the Night's Dawn Trilogy?
A weird coincidence duringa satanic ritualsummonsthe souls of the deadwhopossess humans. This gives themthe ability to warp reality, but hampers electronics which can be both a detrement and an asset..
Initially, they'dhide among the pops and try to subvert as many as possible, until it turns into an open hell war. They would have difficulty operating starships, but be incredibly tough ground forces that convert your pops against you.
>>145491475
There's still an election between the initial ruler and all the other leaders in my empire (who I'd rather have continue being scientists, admirals, etc.), it's just isn't as often. Not to mention the bonuses don't really appeal to me, though honestly that's starting to feel like the case for all of them.
18 civs at launch for civ VI
Cleopatra is the leader for egypt
>>145491643
All you'd have to do is quarantine infected planets and send in robot/android armies to exterminate them.
Gimping them in space wouldn't make them very threatening either, ground warfare is a joke, orbital bombardment > everything.
>>145492303
Why have they made Cleopatra look like a white chick?
>>145492303
stage demo fucking where, google is only returning 8 month old results

It was a segment on the twitch e3 channel. It is just wrapping up and it should start popping up on youtube and stuff soon.
>>145492492
robots don't work with them, they malfunction in their presence.
And don't forget they still count as possessed civillians, so killing them would count as purging which makes everyone sad.
It's just an idea anyways, you couldn't translate it 1:1 from the books, because in the game there is no civilian transport to spread the possession.

Game needs a proper internal politics system before you can consider these things
buy the espionage DLC when it comes out you goy
A somewhat-allied empire to me (Confederacy of Mankind) conquered the Yeon empire's homeworld, while one of my fleets was in their system.
The war ended (we both declared war on them for different goals), but now my fleet went "missing in action". How do I get my fleet back?
>Start new game. Decide to play a milaristic empire.
>First colony has a stone age population that´s easily enslaved.
>Start looking for neighbors to kill.
>Find a militaristic isolationist fallen empire as my first one.
How fucked am I?
I have a 40k Tachylon lance fleet. I don't think it's very fair I can wipe 200k worth of fleets from range. Nothing hurts me...
>>145493401
hey, a man can dream, right?
The game is addicting as fuck, but after my third galaxy, you notice how few events and options thre really are. Hell, all events are almost always the same. Mining drones, gas clouds, shards, one(!) pirate outpost that feels like a scrapped mechanic, I mean, fuck!
I want more!
>>145493597
It'll come back to one of your systems on it's own, eventually.
>>145493643
>First colony has a stone age population that´s easily enslaved.

>>145494043
I probably did. My men there are close to rebell and the slaves want to be free. They´re all gretting hungry and the buildings can´t be built fast enough...
Going to start anew. Shit. Should I just purge the shit out of them next time? or now?
I am thinking about making DLC mod.
It will contain events with very limited options. Aka
>normal options(nothing happen)
>DLC options(pay energy credit) hat open path to more options

Mate noone stopping you doing the black cocks into young girls mod you just can't point that shit at steam and expect to get away with it.
Paradox are a business, they will suffer if papers or tumblr sees that shit and then we can't have more paradox games.
The only free place on the net now is anon boards like this, for everything else you have to have the veneer of not pissing people off.
>>145494578
Inbred as well.
>>145493651
Do you just stack Battleships? The problem i have is that everything outspeeds/outranges me, so i always have losses even with tachion lances.
>>145496165
If their goal was to avoid controversy, why isn't the incest mod removed then?
I guess Swedes are fine with inbreeding. Explains a lot, really.
>>145496165

what a tragedy that'd be
>>145494431
No you let stone age primitives be and live in enclaves for the huge society gain.
>>145495642
I have nine 5-star scientists, so it's usually just a minor annoyance for me. Moving people around,
Okay so I've got some ideas to make ground warfare more interesting/important and I have some ideas to implement them but any suggestions would be awesome.
1. Make transport ships cruisers, I at first thought I could try and add the transport ship module to cruisers but then I realized it would be easier to swap out the current transport designs for cruiser ones so I wouldn't have to mess with trying to change the ships they get on when they embark, I could just change the ship itself.
2. Make every tile in the game have a "pop" resource alongside whatever else it has and in order to build an army on a planet it would take up a pop resource (essentially making it act as your strategic resources do, pooling all your "pop" resources into one and then you can build the armies with those pops on whatever planet you want, this would also simulate how people go to boot camps and stuff not near their home to join the army). This could allow weaker armies to be more relevant as you couldn't just spam Gene Warriors since they would cost a lot more pop resources than a regular assault army. Clone Armies and Robot Armies would be exempt from the pop resource and instead would cost minerals, energy, and require specific buildings to build them. Slave Armies would require the slave processing center (an in game building that boosts mineral and food output) and if I can figure out how to do it, they would only cost half a pop resource.
3. Either make the number of armies stationed on a planet unlimited or figure out how to tie it to the number of tiles a planet has. Also buildings like the Military Academy, Clone/Robot buildings, and Virtual Combat Arena would increase the number of armies you can station on a planet. Also, along with the Planetary Shield building that's in game, these buildings would add bonuses to your fortifications that can't be brought down with orbital bombardment so defensive armies would always have at least some fortification bonuses.
part 1/2
>>145494371
Resource system is pretty damn lacking compared to civ games.
I guess the strategics are kind of nice, but eh.
>>145497912
4. Add a zero to the end of every armies health and morale stat but not increase their damage so battles last longer than a few days. I shouldn't be able to conquer someone's homeworld and occupy it in a week.
5. Stop retarded shit like being able to build robotic gene warrior armies and robotic slave armies. The game unfortunately doesn't differentiate between robot/droid and organic pops which I think it should.
6.Decrease the warscore gain from simply blockading a planet. Currently it's pretty easy to just blockade all of an enemies planets and not even bother with ground combat to win a war.
7. Along with decreasing the blockade warscore amount, add the ability to glass a planet from orbit that does add the same amount of warscore as occupying it but also gives the enemy your fighting against a happiness malus and your own empire a happiness malus unless you're militarist, xenophobic, or collectivist. I would like it if there was some sort of war exhaustion mechanic like in their other games because that would come in handy for handling things like glassing a planet and it's impact on nations.
part 2/2
>>145497773
Nine, why? I usually just have two in ships surveying shit and then 3 leading research teams. Why so many?
>>145498043
Assisiting resarch.
+5% to resarch output fro planet.
>>145498220
+50%
>>145465226
>Not using tiny fleets to distract the enemy from your main fleet and raiding stations with said fleet
Before I did that, wars were pretty boring.
>>145498043
Assist research like the other anon says is one reason.
Adding 50% research output to a planet filled with labs is pretty nice. Adding it to 6 planets is even nicer.
Also I switch the researcher around depending on what I'm researching.
Like I have a 5-star Statecraft guy for Administrative Efficiency techs.
I have 12 scientists in total now.
3 leading reserach, 1 surveying, the rest on assist research.
>>145498038

I like to think they are cyborg supersoldiers, not just machines with geneseed.
>>145499062
Do you just not bother with having governors or admirals to have that many?
>>145500014
I have a few governors.
No admirals.
Had one admiral in a war. Kicked him afterwards.
>>145492818
wow civ 6 might actually not be hot shit
dare I dream it?
>>145500243
I started thinking that back when quill18 went over his private preview.
For those of you that watched that clip, the end game cities looked really good. Major city districts with suburbs all around. All I can think of was nuking it.
Also, anyone else noticed that it seems like you have to discover oil kind of like archaeology in civ 5? Looked like oil didn't get revealed all at once as is common when you research a tech.
>>145498038
You know there's already playable robot and expanded ground combat mods, right?
