Not only do the vk heavies fail to define a role for themselves with all of their different elements clashing, but they're just shit for their tier as it is. The Tiger is the first tank that actually works for it's role and does it well. Part of the reason the previous tanks are awkward stat frankestein's is that the tier 6 used to be a faster medium, but they turned it into a slow heavy and it has no place to define itself anymore, also both are supposed to be "support heavies" but they're slow as fuck compared to the tiger and their dpm is bad, so finding a position to be close enough and safe from fire long enough to get off many shots but far away enough to not get shit on by whatever feels like trading with you is painful.

I see absolutely no reason to cap in a fast tank unless it's clearly the only way to win (down multiple tanks and enemies all top tier/full health, or enemies about to cap). I ended up fixing it. Just did a fresh install of Aslain first then the GuP mod and it's working great. Thanks for the help though. Also, any mod that replaces in game tank decals with the respective school? For instance all British tanks have st. gloriana decals on the side, etc etc.

Camo and sixth sense for first skill, BiA for second skill, Repairs for third skill (you need repairs mostly for tier 8+). Safe stowage and preventative maintenance are worth too, but I wouldn't train them until you are on your fourth skill, at which point you should drop repairs for the two perks and then re-train repairs as 4th skill.
Or if you don't have a premium Russian TD and will never get to 4 skills, you should go Camo/Sixth sense for 1st skill and Repairs for 2nd skill instead, since you WILL need repairs for higher tiers.

The BT-42 is a 114 (4.5in Howitzer)
For comparison, the 76 is 164/110 with 38/37. The 4.5inch on a Bishop is 450 with 57.
You'd probably have to uptier the BT-42 to Tier IV. Slower, thinly armored BT-7 with a huge turret that packs a punch.

Can anyone tell me when to use heats in lower tier matches? I never penned a single thing with the Sherman Heatshell so far. I shot the lower front armor of a Sherman point blank and it bounces. tAm I only supposed to shoot flat, non-slanted, non-spaced surfaces of anything? Because if the sherman has an 81mm EA in the lower glacis and my HEAT has 101mm pen and I shot point blank and the tank was looking straight at me, I'd think I'd be able to pen, but it looks like the game is telling if anything slanted=no pen regardless of the pen value of the shell.
