Not really, it's pretty fun to play still. I'd recommend against getting it tho, Blizzard has first to prove that they actually give a heck about balancing the game for PCs. For being in beta for so long, not having a huge scope, and for costing 40 dollars/euros, they really dropped the ball.

Game will only get boring if you just keep going for really long play sessions in my experience. I generally get 2-3 lootboxes per day (level ups), which is generally about 12-18 games, and then take a break, and I have been playing it every day since launch without getting bored, despite generally not being a fan of multiplayer focused games or FPS.

Years ago I would get my opinions from /v/ for upcoming games and I would usually avoid them.
Stopped browsing /v/ and Overwatch was the first game in a long while where I bought it with little knowledge other than the beta was fun and I'm loving the hell out of it. Checked /v/ to see what they think and they generally dislike it in usual fashion.
Just get the game if it looks fun and you enjoyed the beta.

Widowmaker is light 8 patches behind everyone else in updates anyway. She'll still be a great pick because it's impossible not be a great pick when you are the hitscan sniper in a game where offensive pushes are decided by a single pickoff.

1. Widowmaker is statistically plain better than her peers. This is most obvious when you compare her assault rifle to S:76 and realize the game's sniper can go shoulder to shoulder with the a guy built around his assault rifle. A sneakier but even more important difference is the fact that her hitbox is way smaller than the other assault classes yet she has the same HP as them.
2. As long as Widowmaker has the ability to drop any non-tank with a single shot from across the map she will always be a valuable addition to the team, because so much of Overwatch is decided by number advantage and ultimates. If Widowmaker gets a lucky pick on someone who had their ult up you get a significant advantage that good teams will abuse.

maps where you can really get behind the enemy and use vertical mobility to your advantage. For this reason he kind of sucks on the last point of attack/defend maps and the end of payloads, unless you get a really good ult off.
He's generally countered by energy weapons, so if the enemy has lots of zarya/winston it's generally not a good idea. He's also pretty bad against torbjorn because his trump card is diving the enemy team with his ult, but an alive turret completely prevents that because you cant dodge its shots and ithas way too much HP to die fast enough.
He's solid against any squishy characters because of the reflect, and he can be a pain for roadhog/dva if he plays correctly, so really just the energy weapon users and torb he hates.
Don't let supreme memers tell you he's actually bad, yes he is a shitter magnet because people want to be ninjas, but he's very useful in the right situation and hands.
