Yes, because the majority of users don't want to be spoiled, and there's no way to distinguish ACTUAL spoilers from fake ones, so what's happening is any spoilers, real or fake, are getting the spoiler banned until AA6 is released or until they appeal if Lupa finds they deserve to be unbanned.

How do you know they're jokes though? Plot points don't just cease from being a thing that happens in a story because someone said them in a joking manner, and something said in jest could very well be something that actually happens. The only way to tell if a potential spoiler is actually joke or not is by knowing the material that is being spoiled, defeating the purpose of a ban on spoilers. Take all the "X is the mastermind" jokes people use all the time on the server, and in the AA community in general. Now, to someone who's never played AAI2, being subjected to one of these jokes, no matter if the statement was factually correct or not, would be a spoiler to them.
