Don't be afraid of kanji, learn radicals and stroke order, get a dictionary on your phone for quick definitions, and add a handwriting Chinese pinyin keyboard (if you have android) for writing in said dictionary. Having a bit of high school Mandarin 1&2 can come in handy to learning kanji. Learn basic Japanese sentence structure. Read news articles in Japanese, NHK has a site for easy reading with furigana on top of kanji. Also no learning from anime or ace combat, that shit won't fly high if you end up speaking to an actual nip, learn polite Japaneseだぜ. Optionally, you can also work on pronunciations. Excuse the other guy. As far as I know, the map button (Square) and the thrust and brakes (R1 and L1) use analog in all 3 games. However, just mapping the buttons should be fine, it'll just press it 100% instead of in between. And in Zero, you can change the controller settings so the map changes by tapping instead of by how hard you press.

I REALLY hope Boresight Mode makes a return. I also hope the wingman works like in AC6 (one wingman, fully choose plane), but the commands work a bit different. On the D-Pad, Left should choose the operation (if we're gonna have big missions again like in AC6) and Up should choose Attack and Down chooses Cover, while Right toggles wingman's SPW. However, pressing Up or Down multiple times chooses different strategies, kinda like Zero's Disperse. Attack should switch between Attack TGTs in front, focus on air TGTs, or focus on ground TGTs. Cover should switch between Cover my 6, take care of SAMs, or take care of Artillery. If there's online (which there definitely will be), it should a) work similar to Infinity's TDM and NTDM, b) have a fanservicey mode like Infinity's where it recreates the setting or even entire missions from previous games, except without the Bamco Jewery on top of it, and c) have an Ace of Aces mode for the campaign, with chat instead of Wingman Commands.

To be fair, the DLC skins were universally equivalent to SP planes in I finite. They radically altered each plane's handling and characteristics, making it almost an entirely new plane
Just finished AC4 and AC5 in the period of 2 days, and let me say that although I don't consider AC5 harder than the other games in the series, its missions are complicated, with multiple objectives, and you indeed have to protect your allies (not wingmen), or they're gonna die very fast. It took me 4 hours to finish AC4 only dying on crashes, while it took me 12 to finish AC5, and I failed way many times because of allies dying or other mission failure causes. And in some missions, if you don't bring in the correct plane (at least on your first time), you're fucked.
That mission in the ravine (Ghosts of Razgriz) was probably the hardest on the series to me. I felt my heart pumping when I had to shoot down the last 2 Ofnir with only 7 common missiles and 96% damage.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say I like AC4/5/Z equally both on a ps2 and emulated. I like the PS3 controller I use more than the PS2, and the resolution upscaling makes identifying planes a lot easier in pcsx2. On a PS2 I always feel like I'm straining my eyes.

What's with all these F/A-18s, super hornet too, crashing all of a sudden? A Blue Angels pilot didn't make it recently, 2 F/A-18s crashed a couple weeks ago, along with 2 Super hornets too.
Are they unreliable craft?

No one said it was COMPLETELY fair, but it is easy enough to get something like a level 5 F-15C or an SP plane from an aircraft drop or the ticket shop that is more than capable at level 1, especially with a few parts and MAYBE 1 level up if necessary.
