What are the odds of getting modular vessals built? I always thought it would be cool to have some sort of system that allowed you to pick the chassie size for each bit then fill it in with whatever you need.

But the programming would be hard for the placement bit but the modular construction part would be easy.

How do I stop the naval AI from ramming things that don't particularly need to be rammed at 50+ m/s? The turning circle settings don't seem to be doing anything.

My new jet hydrofoil metal boxes are running circles around DWG shitbotes and the OW isn't likely to do much better, but they are taking way too much damage from crashes.

APS Inertial fuse now explodes frags on the far side of the shield making inertially fused fragment shells useful, I suppose.

Disruptor Conduit shell cap added which tunnels EMP energy through a shield and into the shield projector (potentially destroying it). Also causes an explosion of the shell on the far side of the (now potentially destroyed) shield.

Repairspam is kinda limited by resource crates taking up space.

And shieldspam is still easier to do than quad layer beam for armor. That still gets shredded by sabots, At least until overpenetration is added.

I think it was planned that if the shell's ap dwarfs the block's armor, the shell loses some ap, while dealing low damage, and bypasses the block.
Repeat until ap is back to average and deal full remaining damage.

It's nearly finished. It has 6271 blocks and it can go at 14m/s. since the limit is 16 m/s for botes over 5k blocks and i'm only using bote propellers, it's kinda nice.
It can be remote controlled and has some cameras because i think it might be fun.
I still don't know if, how or where to make rooms for the crew and such. The externals of the vehicle are finished and the internals are half done.

From all the machinery that's in /egg/heim now, only Notonipono's torpedo bomber is the only thing to survive because it's fast enough to avoid the AA fire.

welp, it finally died. I think it ran out of fuel. I don't know who built that thing, but adding the belly's shield was the best thing you could do, it has deflected 1/4 of all the bullets i've shot at it.

And don't worry, you won't need to cheese anything to destroy this boat because:
1- It has a single AI surrounded by ammo blocks.
2- It doesn't have repair bots.

The Fleurdelys from the CotE managed to drop a couple of shots on it.

The finished Avalanche tank guts a kalmar in a single pass. It's rams are devastating but the ai is usually dead before it gets there.

On another note, I made this hovertank. Which faction would it most fit in for /egg/heim? Space robotos or Nippons? It fits well into the "armored car" category with around 680 blocks and a 35~m/s speed.

I'd say to lift the boat speed caps, since maneuvering in a 2d plane already makes them easier to hit than a flying craft with the same speed, keep the caps for subs, and add 40m/s to each of the listed flight speeds except spacecraft.

Considering I couldn't use a proper PID for the hover balancing, this thing does fairly well in extremely mountainous environments. It suffers only minor damage when going up really steep slopes on the side. Being entirely powered by two small RTGs is a definite bonus.

Note: /egg/heim really needs a bigass motherfucking desert.

Color it with solid stripes with tiny accents or in add in geometric shapes. For automobots its Red yellow white Purple for primary secondary trim detail. Maybe mostly red with yellow stripes and white accents with purple on the cannon barrel? But paint it in fleet colors. I wish it was per 1m painting instead of per block. Anyone who says Spengoes isn't shit is either disillusioned, has only recently started playing the game, or is paid by Keen.

Spengies great in concept but it's shit in practice, mostly due to performance. It could be so much better but Keen are a bunch of hacks that not only break significant mechanics weekly because they don't test shit, but seem to refuse fixing the parts of the game that need the most work.

Markle's vision of the game is too small for what they're trying to make it, and it's clear that his participation is limited. They dropped their first game to make Spengies, slit the team to make a third game before their second was in anyway complete or functional, and then they divided resources even further with GoodAI which is a joke all on its own.

Anon when did you start? The routine has been the exact same since well before planets. It was acceptable in the earlier days when there were very few features and everyone's thoughts were "I hope we get multiplayer." They would break literally everything, but they'd typically fix or change something decently in doing so.

Then they stopped focusing on significant problems to focus on planets. Planets came out and it was pretty cool, but they never went back to fixing glaring issues, just saying they fixed it without really doing much. We started getting features we don't need yet like tool tiers, or exploding dogs. Their solution to grids desyncing is to make them stationary to each other, and even that doesn't always work. Their solution to NPC ships spawning inside planets was to disable them. They don't fix problems, they just lampshade them or try to sweep them under the rug, and that's precisely what shits the game up.

And the funny thing is they did, some if not most of the fixes (including the npc ships and planets) were done by the "comunity"

Look. i waited 11 YEARS, for thief: deadly shadows to be the game it should be, because of the 1st xbox, the game got chopped and downgraded hard, and now, after all this years, its still not 100% done.
They merged maps (loadingu zones), fixed unreal engine related issues, and put the game in the real difficulty (no 3rd person and no supervision or any kind of help, AI better done) wich let people who enjoy stealth, have a better challenge, and stop fighting with the game just to play it.

So, i wouldnt mind wait like 2 or 3 years to be totally fixed and done to make whatever i want without any fear of clang of whatever.

As far as i heard, marek is some kind of dictator, who says what do and what not despite people having good ideas, so the state of the game is really his fault.
If he cant, the willpower of people will mod his game to be as we wanted, or just move to another similar game like empyrion,.

I dont have problems playing it now as it is, knowing how is been made and how much time it could take.

The biggest challenge is to convince those living fosiles (inverstors) to put money into something that is... uncertain for them.


They will allways chose the most secure path because they want the maximum profits from it.
So, they will cheap out everything to its limits, even the playability of the game it self (see modern AAA games being as broken as spengos in his bitch mode, and users being betatesters)
Its a business, and the worst of all, because there is no quality control, journos were some kind of jugde, but that died really fast, and even in the win95 era, magazines and stuff were pure shills, i remember that from the first carmageddon compared to similar games.
Carma 1 had the best physics for its time, only beated by its sequel, but magazines were concerned about killing people (that pregnant mith, there was no pregnant woman in carma1), so they reviewed the UK zombie version to later say that the game was not good because it didnt had weapons like twisted metal or vigilante 8 and the timer is too fast (they were very bad at playing it).
Carma 2 (1998) was treated the same way, and that game had a physics engine that only got surpased by colin mcrae dirt in 2007, and still no one gave a fuck about that, they just said, oh... now it has missions, the game is now worse.
So there is no actual quality control, wich is why games are as shit as they are, and also why this corruption in journalism was twisted into GG.

The problem here is that with Early Access, the players are supposed to be your investors, but once you have their money you really have no incentive to keep them pleased. If you can keep them occupied for a couple hours there is nothing they can do.
Cradle is a great example, it gets you hooked into the story and the scenery and the few lite puzzles it has, and then it shits over everything with a hamfisted, repetitive platformer, and barely explains anything about the underlying story and leaving you with more questions, but by the time you realize the rest of the game is garbage it's too late to refund and you're left with a bad taste in your mouth.

Now I certainly got my $20 out of Spengies, I won't ask for that back on principle, but knowing about the game and the devs what I do now, I wouldn't spend that for it today, nor would I recommend anyone else spend that for it.

Got mine in the space cuts for like twenty something dollars, and its the reasong i bought it, i was been pirating it before, and back then i even had multiple installs because i knew something could go wrong (because both its a pirated game and its spengies) and just decide to not play the lastest version, now with this legit im fucked because i cant have multiple installs or avoid an update.

I allways send people to the steam underground forums wich had almost the last update all weeks, so he can pirate it, test it for days if needed, and then decide, 2 hours isnt too much for this games, but for some indie retro platforming bullshit, you could beat the game twice maybe.
