The meta stuff is totally my fear when playing vidya, and the whole player-game interaction is one of the reasons I love Undertale, but it's kind of a first-time experience. It's cool watching a friend go through it for the first time since you relive it a little, but once you've gone through the genocide route and sold you soul, well, you've already sold your soul. A permanent bad ending is what Sans was fighting against, but it's pointless now. Undying doesn't know anything, she's just trying to prevent the genocide of her people, so it feels awesome every time. She's so cool.
