I don't think putting them all in 1 tree actually robs the nuance. Everyone's stealth build was basically identical before, it just took more points to complete. So instead, everyone's stealth build is the same until about level 40, an then they can start spending points on other options. the intuitive choice might be putting points into dodge and crits, but you could get mines to use as extra spotters, or stack up the drill powers, or have enough points left to have a solidly playable plan B build, instead of "shit goes loud, time to restart automatically. because I have no real safety or damage output to deal with Gensec elites"

If anything its loud that's been robbed of nuance cos stealth was never that complex anyway. Before you had to choose between Inspire/pistol messiah and overkill/ICTV. I want to do an ICTV Techforcer like I always did back in the day. Have one build for straight firepower and one for opening everything probably, not sure exactly what I want to do yet.
Can I make that work while still having the drill, c4 and saw skills, or should I go with a build meant for wearing a ballistic vest?
I had the most fun being the ICTV wall with a loco shotgun, and the drill skills and saw are just good for clearing heists quickly.
What's the good perk deck for that? I always used Armorer.

Except you don't use the slug shotgun as your primary, and it's not the reason you invest in the shotgun tree to begin with. You get your usual scattershot gun for your main gun, and for your other gun you get a slugthrower to deal with shields/snipers/bulldozer faceplates. And you still get the sweet reloading speed bonuses and other buffs from the tree. And there are no sniper rifle secondaries. Fag.

Rogue is the only deck that has dodge. Any other deck will only have base 5 and 15 when you're sprinting. If you want to run a suit you'll have to have other defensive measures.
Rogue+ FAKs is still pretty good.
Muscle+Hostage Taker ace is decent as well, you'll end up with about 480hp when you have a converted cop. Not only are joker cops way more durable than before, dominating enemies has also been made way easier. And since you have Muscle you'll be regenerating a lot of hp.
Grinder is just not as good as it used to be. Your best bet is probably to wear the LBV and get some armor boosting skills, because you can no longer tank whole assault waves with your HP. Since you'd have a miniscule amount of dodge in a suit, you may as well go for more armor.

Shapecharges arent even really worth using anymore since saw is unlocked by default, the mines arent really good so the whole tree is pretty shit, the drill skills are only for saving some time in some heists. Not really. It doesn't hurt, but the 15% buff only has a meaningful effect on guns that don't need it. The guns that could actually use a buff like the spas and m1014 only get about +8 dam which isn't going to make a difference unless it hits a breakpoint, which IIRC it doesn't. If they had kept it at 35% if would have been immeasurably more worthwhile.

You gain a set number of damage reduction per stacks of maniac. To get full stacks you need to do around 2k damage in a short amount of time, the stacks deplete at a rather slow rate of 20% per a few seconds. The stacks update at a rather laggy pace. Specials are the best place to get the damage, dozers give less stacks. Having full stacks makes you near invincible on DW and gives the entire team a lesser version of your current resistance. Only the highest Maniac stack works at one time so 2 maniacs arent needed.

no, for a little while about a month ago the armor refresh time had no cap so if you hurt enough people fast enough you would basically have infinite armor, the only thing that could hurt you was sniper shots and cloaker kicks
