It's sort of accurate, some things like the BLT weapons aren't as they add both physical and blood damage together. The AR below the weapons are more accurate as they separate the damage.

You can infuse any pure physical weapon and it'll be good, especially once you get Cold Abyssal gems that improve Arcane scaling. A lot of Arcane builds use Bolt Saifs as you only need 11 Skl to hold and the moves is much better than the Tonitrus.

Just started this game. Not my first Souls game, as I've got a few hundred hours in DaS, but BB has been much much harder so far. Every boss fight has been a grueling 10-minute duel where I slowly wittle them down to nothing and use 15 blood vials in the process.
Am I doing this wrong? Is that how Skill plays out? It's working, but it feels like it's way harder than it oughta be.

Started as Professional, only leveled Skill and Vitality so far. I'm at a low level, so they're probably at 20 and 17 respectively. Weapon is a Threaded Cane +3, and I have no noteworthy gems, just 2 that add 1.4% damage.

The game tends to be harder for Souls Vets at first. I was the same way. Now I take them down in about 2 to 3 minutes or less each.
The problem is that in DaS, you tend to wait for attacks, then there is a huge opening so you have time to easily land a few hits. It doesn't really work that way in BB.
The trick to BB bosses is to dodge Forward, and slightly to the side, NOT BACK. Your goal should be to get out of in front of them, not away from them. Several of the bosses are set up specifically to punish you for trying to dodge away from them.

Sounds like you're using the Threaded Cane without knowing where all the Bloodstone Shards are.
The Threaded Cane starts out bad but ends up with awesome scaling. Generally weapons with high scaling have lower base damage, which makes them not as good at the start of the game. You could try using the Saw Spear, or make use of fire and bolt paper.

Yeah they are, they're fairly easier with a kirkhammer since you can bait them and crush their skulls with charged attacks then ragdoll them across the room with the follow up and crush them again as they enter berserk mode, the hassle is killing them in a few hits because their danger factor goes up by 70% when they enter berserk mode at 75% hp.

Do you know of the two areas you can access right before Vicar Amelia? Going to either side of the Grand Cathedral once you reach the church guys using big sticks will lead you to a new area. Neither of them are particularly easy, but you can find Twin Blood Shards there.
Going to the right will have you meet two hunters you probably can't beat, followed by a Sackman who will probably kill you, I suggest you run past him unless you want to get sacknapped. Followed by two Executioners which are the big guys with axes who will probably kill you if you arent good at parrying. If you manage to kill both of those Executioners you'll find two Scuttlers/Crystal Lizards who both drop two twin shards each. You can pull the second Executioner with pebbles so you don't set off the Scuttlers.
Go to the left instead though. That way leads to Hemwick. There are at least three Twin Shards in Hemwick, though it's a much longer area. Check every nook and cranny, because they're hidden pretty well. That wooded area full of black dogs and snipers is a bitch, but those dogs also have a chance of dropping twin shards as well.

I highly suggest you bypass the hunters. They are fairly easy to run by and a going to be extremely tough for you. Make sure to run past/kill the Sackman so you can drop down on the two snipers lounging on the cliffs overlooking the two Executioners. If you don't kill them, the Executioners will be a much tougher fight.
The Executioners are extremely weak to Viscerals, and should die in one shot since you're a Skill build.

I suggest level BLT to 8 and no more, since that is the base requirements for the repeating pistol.
Leveling up increases visceral damage, but leveling skill increases it more. BLT just increases gun damage and the damage of a few specific melee weapons.

So I've been playing bloodborne for the last couple days and I have to say the difficulty seems all over the place
Cleric Beast was just an exercise in how many times I could press R1, but Father G raped my mouth a couple of times because I kept gitting greedy
The Blood-Starved Beast gave me a rough time for a bit, but I beat Vicar Amelia on the first go, the fact that she held still long enough for a fully charged stake driver R2 multiple times was probably a big part of it

That depends on if you're doing a Dex/Bloodtinge build or not. Even then I feel like having a gun in your right hand is sorta pointless when you also have a gun in your left. And unless you're throwing a load of Strength in there too, you're pretty much guaranteed to have a normal gun in your left hand.
I mean, it's fast as fuck and does solid damage, but I still feel it's kind of pointless. I've seen Str/Dex/Blt builds before that make use of Cannons with it, but that requires a lot of sacrifices from Vit.

You could probably level Vit a little higher. I also found using 10% fire gems to not hit really hard even with high Arc as well but Ludwig is a tough pill to swallow with it. After him it gets easier, study his moves real close and don't get too greedy with hits. There's always Valtr to summon

Level doesn't matter. I beat him at level 43. People have beaten him lower than that. WHat matters more is your weapon upgrades and gems. A +9 with Mensis gems is perfect.

It's certainly possible to make use of the Reiter without investing in Blt, if you want. I think a Dex primary quality build would be pretty kickass for it actually. Let you still parry people while making use of the Gatling and Cannon.

Since you're running an Arc build Men's is gems are useless since theyreally only for physical damage. There's an 18% Arcane gem in there you can pick up but it's not worth using it against Ludwig. Other option would be going deeper into chalice dungeons and getting fire gems from the Loran chalices.
