Galilea doesn't have a giant "fuck you and fuck your skills" bubble anymore. Well she does but it doesn't work as fucking retarded as it used to, plus she's has some damage and health nerfs.
The Incursion map that everyone prefers playing on got some big changes to it that immensely improved the way it plays.
Unfortunately there's been very little in the way of buffs for characters that need it. Mostly nerfs.
First DLC character is a bit out of line, she got nerfed once already and is confirmed to get hit again soon. She really just needs a damage tweak, though.

Is he right for this game? I see a lot of people calling him broken simply because of him being a sniper. I've thought about it that way too because of the laney-ness MOBA style of the game. The game's maps seem ripe for the picking for Marquis.

you have to think a little differently in battleborn compared to other FPS. taking meltdown as an example, if chasing down a player kill means their minion wave will reach their altar, you actually might have to stop and kill the minions instead or they get the cost of a player death right back.

How bout a kit overhaul?
When I saw that one of his attributes was Territorial and given the other members of the rogue faction I thought he'd be a tanky frontliner zoning people with his mech suit and generally being tanky.
Instead territorial means being able to do a lot of damage at range, which means Marquis could be considered territorial too.
What I'd like to see:
Take away his stupid zoom, give him melee attack on left click and railgun shots on right click. (opposite of Shayne+Aurox)
Make his charge mechanic unique. Melee attacking or taking damage on your shield charges your railgun. Your railgun holds x amount of shots which can be fired at your leisure with right click. Balance this around the damage you give his railgun and how available you want it to be.
Make his shield project in front of him, it moves with him and is always in front of him. He's already got his passive dashes, so he could easily dash out of a fight backwards and pop his shield or use it to press forwards and get bonuses on his railgun damage.
Give his ultimate increased damage based on how many railgun charges he has. If you take the helix upgrade that turnes your ultimate into 3 concentrated beam projectiles then increase the number of projectiles with the railgun charges. And either remove the channeling time before it fires or remove his reduced mobility. That's too many inhibitions on something that you expect people to get double kills with.
To sum up Gailiea in two sentences it's either

i think toby is fine as an allround/sniper character. he can technically be a frontliner if you can consistently land railgun shots at close range and use the 30% damage reduction helix along with the stun mines, it's just that the sniper playstyle is much safer to default to.

What he actually needs are:
Fix his shield. There's several ways of doing this, the most boring of which being stapling it to his face so he can stay mobile and snipe. Better instead to increase the size, fix the fuckups caused by hugging it too closely and firing PAST it even though your viewmodel shows you as being behind it, and either make it not so squishy or give it a shorter cooldown.
Let him lay 2 mines at base level, instead of needing a legendary gear for it.
Fix his ultimate. I don't have specifics, there's a ton of different ways to make it better, it's just so awful.

Might as well make one of the DLC missions "Saving Sister Ambra" where there is special dialogue between the above women and Caldarius with Ambra. One half hating(half Galilea and Alani) on her and the other liking her (other half of Galilea and Deande) with sides flip flopping and Caldarius just trying to complete his mission and commenting not trying to start a problem and the othe unknownr DLC character with Ambra in their lore challenge requirement trying to egg them on to start a cat fight to death.

Also ISIC is a wonderful character. I get around 700 shield with my items, 2300 HP, and he does a lot of damage. Perfect to snipe fleeing enemies. Extreme DPS once you got the 25% recharge boost. And you still have your shield when you're in a tight situation. The dash is good to stun multiple enemies at once (One dash already turned whole games) or escape, especially when enemies try to block you. Another advantage of large characters, you can block by yourself, but avoid damage using the shield.
Maybe they are going to nerf him next. Galilea is still going strong. And Ghalt, but he is being played less since the new water healer released.
What kind of packs are you guys buying? I saved up for the legendary packs but they seem to give only shit.
I have a 30%+ shield piercing item for example, it is green (uncommon), the legendary packs only give me 10-20%. Same for shields and other stuff.
My shield has 138 capacity, I think i get a better one once I complete ISICs mastery.

Here're a few that are a constant noticeable annoyance.

The framerate fluctuates significantly up to 50% of the mean. This happens for everyone, but some people don't notice because the game doesn't have an in-built FPS display. It results in input lag, judder, and general unpleasantness all around.

Designed for consoles and somewhat clunky on PC. Also takes up a lot of screen space.
>Matchmaking
There aren't enough players to ensure a well balanced game any more, so it feels like the mm stops trying and just tries to put games together. Which is fine, since it can't be helped, but this leads to one-sided matches.

Sorely lacking and does not teach new players how to play any mode, resulting in steamrolls if you have one on your team.

I've been soloing advanced hardcore. Sometimes it's cheap and I die for reasons I can't help but so was Dark Souls. It's challenging and lets me avoid the worst parts of this game right now, except for the bad performance.

I get there's a sort of format to follow for updates depending on how you want to update your game (I.E. I've heard they're trying to keep all platforms at the same patch instead of putting out patches as needed, which would help PC a lot faster), but hot damn The Sabotage needs to be fixed. Like of all the places in the game that have performance issues, The Sabotage mission is easy to reproduce garbage and there's really no excuse for why they haven't bare minimum apologized profusely for that shithole until they fix it.
Also I actually have fun in multiplayer. Stomps aren't nice but I'm still having a good time.

Actually having unlocked all of Shayne's lore recently, maybe it would be the right matchup for Aurox and Shayne and Rendain. Knowing her she'd probably enslave Rendain after the destruction of the Heliophage and then make Aurox and him have their chin swordfight because its fun, and they're both just immensely irritated with her bullshit but can't do anything about it.

Hey if you're still here or see this at some point, any tips for getting at least Silver when doing Advanced difficulty solo? I feel doing pubs would just be a shitfest that we always lose and at the moment I don't have a lot of buds to play with yet so doing some solo unlocks and practice at harder difficulties sounds pretty nice.

I can quite consistently get silver.
1. Open every single box and break every breakable. The large boxes that contain a piece of gear and 5-10 yellow bonus score are important.
2. Pick up all yellow bonus score orbs from bosses. A character that moves fast, a sprint speed item, or getting lucky with the boss drops (sprint orb) helps. Some bosses will drop bonus score if you interrupt their moves with a stun.

I love toby but his shield just disintegrates in advanced difficulty. Orendi could work too but lacks some range and can't get lifesteal if needed until much later in helix. Shayne and Aurox same issue as orendi. Solid skillset but short on range.

If you're going to use Rogue I think WF is the best for solo, at least based on the style I play. Orendi is good too but she's very fragile and much riskier compared to WF. S&A is melee and that sucks on enemies like Guardians, but otherwise she's good solo. Toby is great if you want to cheese the missions from range, but it takes about twice as long doing that.
Interrupting bosses usually result in about 5-10 orbs. It doesn't always need hard CC, some bosses can be interrupted by shooting their legs, breaking their shields, etc. Keep soloing and you'll find out quite quickly what works, and the cheap tricks that you can die to. For some missions solo is the only way I know to easily beat them, since going in a group causes far too many enemies to spawn.

Yeah I noticed there's a base set of enemies you fight every time, and then a group tends to add some elits if not a whole set of near-minibosses to a wave.

Yup. The objective health doesn't seem to increase with group size so it's autofail if you get unlucky with the spawns. A good item build specific to the enemy types can help though.

+7 really helps on characters with shields. You can back off and heal up instead of staying at 10% and dying to the next cheap shot by an elite bot. I like to bring extra pieces that give you +4.2 regen when below 50% HP, and try to stack HP on Eldrid, but I think only Thorn is any good solo pve.
>Shield penetration
On characters with built-in shield pen stacking this lets you cut through bots, which lets you deal with ronin and strikers easily. OM and WF especially.
>Cooldown reduction
For characters with stealth or "regen shield on skill activation" this has saved my bacon many times. There's a legendary that gives you a % chance to get -2s cdr on skill activation, which is great on characters that have low skill cd, which I use.

I think he's fine, people for some reason can't comprehend how to counter-snipe him. I usually play WF and if I see theres a Marquis going uncontested in a sniping position I go zoom scope and spend as much time as possible harassing him out of his perches. He's only dangerous if you let him sit back and shoot at your head- if you can get the jump on him or in close they usually panic and you have a free kill.
And its always satisfying punting him off a cliff into a pile of melee characters.

How can you forget characters with massive hit boxes and collisions?
Some characters are so massive they are bitch to move around because they are so wide, wear a massive fat suit and try navigating swiftly around corners and you'll see what I mean. Also they body block shots so much so it's a bitch to have a melee ally accidentally body block your vital shots accidentally.
Also they are so fucking easy to hit and are shat on by anythign that really works off good aim like pulls, crit shots etc.

Unlocks are pure cancer. Locking anything to begin with is a shit progression that is completely lazy and poor game development. Unlocks that effect actually gameplay are not fun when you are on the other side of the wall looking in and getting your face wrecked by someone that is able to spend many more hours in the game then you are not to mention the fucking power creep it creates. Want to keep players invested in a game, then make it fun and make them what to be there, not because they have to grind out out shit to get a helix skill that suddenly stops making them complete shit and only then half ass useful.

most of the helixes are either obvious picks that are simply more powerful than the alternative, or those that are either good in pve, or in pvp. it's lazy design.
reaching level 32 takes upwards of 50 hours played if you know what you're doing, which, judging by the average player, isn't a very large percentage of the playerbase. reaching 32 doesn't even unlock every hero. this is a SIXTY DOLLAR PAID GAME, not to mention alani never unlocks until you buy her with ingame currency. it's lazy design to keep you playing for longer.
the gear grinding is what keeps most people playing even though you can get away with 3 white items and unaffecting drawbacks (recoil on melee, shield stats on eldrids, heal power on damage dealers) for cheaper and faster buys, which will often net you more benefit than waiting for big epics and legendaries while your team struggles to keep buildables up. it's, again, lazy design to keep you playing for longer
