Honestly, I don't get all the whining about Slark. Even when I got mad freefarm and ganked constantly, I felt like I could have done it on literally any other carry. I died super fast in teamfights to SF ult/death and I pushed really slowly. Sure, I made the supports want to kill themselves, but I could have done that on any carry with a shadowblade.

Attackers build is very proficient.
The drums get you a good amount of stats, armlet let's you take on other melees early and quite often saves your ass.
after that it's just blink 2x daedalus and you're already set for late.
