The battlegrounds are kind of dull in terms of variety, especially compared to other MMOs like TERA, RIFT, and WoW. No capture the flag, no gimmicks or powerups or anything neat like that. Started getting back into into crafting after having put it aside for a while. I'm at ALC 57, CRP 47, WVR 28, and a few others around 15, plus BTN at 60. I'm thinking about taking WVR to 50 after CRP, then leveling MIN so I can get more of my own mats, then level GSM. Does this seem reasonable, should I change the order in which to do them or level something else to 50 as well? My reasoning was to get Byregot's Blessing at CRP 50, level WVR to craft my own hq crafting gear, get access to stones, and then finally be able to craft hq jewelry and other stuff.

Endgame gathering gear progression is locked weekly, much like Lores, except that the gear is locked to 1 craft job.
Some dumbass the other day claims you can reach the stats to craft 3* recipes with pentamelded with the i140/i150 serpentskin/dragonskin gear, but what can you expect from someone that only has experience at 60 with a DoW/DoM job.
However...
3.3 will introduce the latest tier of crafting gear that will be able to equipped by ALL craft jobs. So I would focus on accumulating gil, and then buying the mats to hire crafters to make that gear for you. Then you'll be caught up.
Still, you'll want to grab red scrips whenever possible because that will be needed to craft the newest gear. Just don't use them on i170 mats or i180 gear.
