If you land every single shot, you can get in about 3 before she freezes you, or she can just iceblock, which resets all the damage she's done to you. You can't out run her with wraith form, and she just dink you once its over. She's the edgelord's worst nightmare.

Does anyone actually play Symmetra (not just look at tier lists)? Can you contribute with her without some very specific setup like a Torb or Rein on your team? I'm not sure how to be useful if I'm the main defender.
I'm only asking because all of the other heroes /owg/ say are too useless to play (Pharah, D.Va, Zenyatta) I'm pretty good with even if they're underpowered, but Sym I don't get at all.

Set your DPI/Sensitivity really low. You should be turning and moving using your arm and aiming using your wrist. If you can do a single 360 from one side to the other side of the mousepad, you're probably in a decent range. It will take some time to get used to if you normally play on high DPI/sensitivities.

His turret has health and while the turret is placing (it is not "instant") you can kill it while it has like 30 HP. He needs a solid 10 seconds to upgrade his turret to level 2, which is plenty of time wasted and plenty of time to kill him.

land on her for 50 dmg followed with a free 30 dmg by melee
she now has 120 hit points (typically)
The lightning gun deals 3 dpr at a rate of 20 rps damage per second according to the wiki so you need to keep it on her for 2 seconds and shes dead however...
3dpr may mean 3 damage per ray? the information is vague in my experience after landing the initial damage burst they die after a decent tap but not the two seconds the number suggests.
Even if its 2 seconds of lightning (assuming you can't land any extra free melee kills) widowmaker needs too land 500 dmg in 2 seconds.
The only way she could stand a chance of doing this is if she lands a fully charged head shot for 300dmg 30 damage from the 2 seconds of widow mine and 170 damage in 2 seconds from the rifle which deals 13 damage per shot for 10 rounds per minute its technically possible and would cost 17 ammo - 3 from the sniper shot and 14 from the AR.
Lets weigh up the odds.
