So, I've been having a nostalgia boner for Runescape recently and was thinking of getting back into the game, and I was wondering what you think about OSRS vs RS3
What are the pro's and con's?
I've heard leveling in RS3 is better (For reasons no-one seems to explain, faster or something?) and that the combat is better than the original once you get used to it
At the same time it looks P2W now, the graphics look incredibly cluttered and it seems like the sort of game to have a paywall at some point
Probably going to ask this in both threads in the hope for some objective arguments both ways

Faster xp rates, you can afk a lot, combat updated and much better, the game is centered around end game, mostly combat. Also quests. MTX can be annoying but can be ignored unless you're autistic. PvP is dead outside warbands

Appeal to nostalgia, with old graphics and combat intact. Xp rates are much slower, but the game isn't centered around end game, and thus there isn't a lot of endgame. PvP is big here tho

Prestige is like "saving" the highest floor you can do before starting over, to maximise your xp.
This happens because the xp is an average of the current floor and the prestige floor.
So if you have prestige 30, and do floor 1, the average is 15, therefore your xp have a 15x multiplier.
In your case your prestige is 30, that means that the highest floor you did was 30.
It does not mean that the next prestige should be at 31, because at that time it would be possible to have the level requirements to hit floor 32 or higher.
You always prestige when you reach the highest level floor at your current level.
You can rush small complexity 1 floors until you have your highest 10 levels left, and them do complexity 6 mediums solo, or larges if group.
I personally solo complexity 6 small floors, opening every door to every room. It's slower (arround 7-10 min per floor) but the xp is better.

I've always just considered it a funny coincidence and something that Jagex would attempt to avoid mentioning since it, to me, would show the game in a bad light, but then they released the emotes that depict major events throughout the years with one of them featuring Durial. I don't recall the Falador massacre ever being as heavily discussed as it's been this year, probably due to a mix of the emote and the memelords hyping up the 10 year anniversary. Probably not since nearly all player trading is performed through a kind of marketplace that automatically sells/buys your items from other players across the entire game.

All of the original quests are still in the game and there have been many new ones added to the game. Throughout the game's 15 year long lifespan the quests have changed a fair bit so some of them are going to be marginally different than others.
