I've been trying to find a way to consistently win stacked invasions without abusing Hornet Ring parries and twinking or low SL run advantages... results have not been good. You basically need

How? I loved invading and being invaded. It's boring to go through the game fighting the same enemies over and over, it never changes.

It got mainstream so now instead of only appealing to autists it appeals to the average person which ends up dragging the community down. We're stuck with people that watch let's plays and want to brag to their friends at school that they beat the game. Also, when things get mainstream they become profitable and when things are profitable they get manipulated to maximize that profit.

I like to message people after I gank spank them, they're always mad about it for some reason. I've gotten some good responses. I'd post them but I don't know how to get the messages onto my phone without taking a picture of my tv, and no one wants to see that.

I find weapons with a wide arc are good if you don't want hornet ring schenanigans. Bleed weapons are good too but they're on par with hornet ring.
I've been meaning to make a Mage character so I can sneak around with hidden body and an obscuring ring, and when the host and his friends least expect it I'll wreck them with lasers.

My first game was ds2 and I havent yet got to play das or des. So basically in ds3 they catered to new players to be shielded from invaders with 89 phantoms but man in ds2 it felt really fun to be invaded because when I saw the message youve been invaded id be like "oh shit, im gunna get my ass kicked". You see the invader and yoire like "alright Ill give it my best" and either a. you get your ass kicked and you go "oh well, ive learned from that and ill do better next time" or if you win youre like "holy shit!" and feel like youve beaten the odds
You will pretty much never ever again feel those things in ds3. Although one of the funnest things ive done in ds3 is summon phantom+dried finger in post pontiff and get invaded non stop
Who decided that the meta should be 120 again? I hosted a shit ton of FC's after Ponty this week at sl 70, with +5/+6 weapons. No Darkswords or Estocs, no tryhards, generally good players and tons of build variety.
Hell I'm an int build myself on this character and even that works around these levels, given you're not a bumblefucking retard and know how to mix things up.

Yeah, good swing arc really helps out. Greatswords I've found actually work well in the role but they do not have good enough hyper-armour for trading and only the MLGS and HS seem to hit hard enough to warrant it.
Fast rolling I found really helped. It's good having that bit more security in movement but I would not change a build around getting it.Just so happened my Jetstream Sam build hits it exactly.

Since you can hotswap Covenant items, one easy way to do it would be a "Small Blue Sigil" and "Large Blue Sigil" that are both just Blue Sentinels.
That way, it's set up so:

just wanted to 2nd this. some builds are so obvious, like for example the people with the gigantic str weapon (yhorms, BKGA, etc) and 1H with a caestus. it's so obvious what they're trying to do it hurts, you just play them like a fiddle because you know all they're trying to do is parry into hornet riposte you. or the people with washing pole who only running R1 (you bring out a shield there and win easily, hell sometimes you don't even need that), or the gotthards rolling L1 spam people. so much 1-dimensional play even at SL120.

pic related, I'm testing out the pontiff right eye because i heard from some people it can be good, idk yet though it still requires more testing. might go back to hornet in that slot but i rarely get critical hits (i don't bother with parrying since people just play around it at this level, plus lag, and backstabs are so easy to literally just walk away from). worst case scenario i might just use life ring in that slot.
i use the oath of sunlight buff because i might as well, i spec'd into it specifically and now i don't have any respecs left until i go into NG+ (didn't learn about backup saves soon enough fml), and estoc can be swapped into lothric knight shield easily for shit like washing pole.
i'm pretty fucking confident this works against everything in that respect. it's mostly a matter of gitting gud at avoiding being parried but once you learn how to do that it's fucking unstoppable. you outrange most things with the spear and outspeed most things with the estoc, it's mostly about learning how to combine the two effectively because their different lengths and timings can make you extremely unpredictable with your pokes.

It's still +7 and it's my first time using it, but honestly it feels fantastic. I switched around the Glaive, the Lucerne and the Winged Knight Halberd and honestly the glaive is the best of the three.
The damage is way lower than the WKH, but the stamina consumption makes up for it. It has more damage than the lucerne (except on a counter with leo ring) and way more range. I did 30 tongues/vertebras/grass/dregs with this character and the running attack always catches people running away. The only downside, along with all halberds, is that it is easy to parry. What I did to avoid this is using the R2 and jumping attacks; Delaying doesn't help much, the host will keep spamming parry and this is not BKGA or Kumo that let you punish a failed parry with almost 1000 damage. The damage output is low, you chimp away health at safe distance. Because of the range, it's surprisingly good against squads because you can keep them away.

Fuck, what do I do? I got a warning that I have invalid game data, and I have no idea how that happened. I do not use any 3rd party program, save for something that lets me use a PS3 controller on my computer, which had no issues with Dark1 and Dark2 (and other games as well).

I hate to agree with luci, but I much preferred bonfire levelups to hub warping and levelup waifus.
All of the levelup NPCs get obnoxious eventually because you skip through 4 or 6 lines of dialogue every damn time, and they serve no other function, and warping (eg. going through 2 loadingscreens) every time you want to dump some souls into levels is a pain in the ass and breaks up gameplay uncomfortably.
I understand the function a hub serves in something like DeS where the game is broken up very differently, but in a world with any degree of interconnectivity, decentralizing essential functions help makes the game feel alive, and like the way it is connected serves a purpose. It helps make levels feel less like milestones you plow through once and then forever leave behind because they're "completed" and more like actually meaningful parts of the game's space.
That doesn't just go for bonfire leveling, but essential NPCs, too.

DaS3 is the only game since Demon's Souls with limited upgrade materials per playthrough, though BB had a limit before they patched it.

It had 1 (one, singular, uno, ein, ichi) per playthrough. The DLC brought a second one, and the DLC patch made them purchasable with insight. It took more than a year after the game had been released for them to give you access to more than 1 slab per playthrough.

I strongly dislike it simply on the grounds that there's no way to spend souls in 3 without bonfire warping. Even 2 had world-static merchants that you could buy things from as you moved through the game.
In 3, if you want to buy consumables, you warp back to firelink. If you want to level up, you warp back to firelink. If you want to upgrade gear, you warp back to firelink. If you want to buy new weapons or armor, you warp back to firelink. Spells? Firelink. Ammo? Firelink.
If I didn't have SSD load times, I think I;d shoot myself at some point. I just get tired of the scenery and atmosphere of the damn place when it's all I see every time I want anything.

I have issues with the design of the lategame areas. In many cases they lack the cohesion and intricacy of the early game areas (Crystal Cave is literally just a fucking zig zag past a bunch of dudes until you get to giant enemy clams).
On the other hand I have issues with Blighttown because on my first playthrough Blighttown shoved its pitch black, splintered, diseased, poisonous dick three feet up my Chosen asshole and didn't let up until I had to put the game down from anguish.

Blighttown raped me hard on my first playthrough, it took me more hours than I want to admit to finally get through it.
