That's why I went with Zerker (for Axefaire) and Chieftain for her to keep her access to the Bolt Axe and Tomes.
I'm trying to get her to have enough Mag to be an effective Bolt Axe-wielding Wyvern Lord because of the better caps. About 22 or less should be enough for Conquest. She's getting all the Spirit Dusts and Mag growth from Chieftain.

What does it have over Swordmaster? I heard it's like the Hoshidan equivalent of GK but without the mobility, beast and armour weakness.
Also why do the Hoshidan equivalent classes of Nohrian ones are usually unmounted? Oni Chieftain vs Malig Knight and Master of Arms vs GK are the two I can think of right now.

Yeah Hoshido's only mounted classes are Kinshi Knight, Peggies, and Mechanists, two of which has rather mediocre caps. I though since Hoshido is a more fertile nation, animals would thrive there much more than the gloomy, dry land that is Nohr.
What if instead of buying skills, players can rent skills temporarily and pay with resources like meat or ore?

There should have been a split between between cavalry with Hoshido and Nohr, would have been fitting.
Nohr would focus on Heavy cavalry, boasting impressive armour and wielding Swords and axes. High strength and defense.
Hoshido could have light cavalry in the form of early light skirmishers with bows or naginatas further progressing into fully fledge Yumi cavalry and Naginata riders. More focus on skill, speed and movement.

Horse Spirit is essentially the Guard Naginata for tomes. Crappy might and accuracy for better tanking potential. Rinkah is the only tome user with defenses enough to utilize it in birthright. Conquest has Leo/MU who likes the bonuses of Horse Spirit. MU in particular is crazy tanky with horse spirit and Grim/Shadow Yato.

For Conquest:
He is prone to getting Spd-screwed so unless he has Defensive Formation (by marrying Effie and side-reclasing into General for a bit), he will most likely constantly get doubled. He is always going to be outclassed by Xander (who will be getting all your Speedwings so no extra help with Spd for him) and doesn't have his own niche unlike Pieri, who can be a Mage-killing horse unit with less bulk and Skl but is much faster and has a better personal skill for offense, who can get your Dracoshields and Seraph Robes as she has less competition for those things. He does have his uses early on in the game though.
As a character besides being MU's bro whom they don't even seem to care about much, his supports aren't that good. He's a generic nice guy
with little personality and is even perceived as creepy by quite a few people in the fandom. His daughter is pretty worth getting though.
Haven't played the other two routes and I don't plan to so yeah.

As far as birthright goes, the other anon is right in that you get so few units with def that isn't completely shit, so that alone will make Silas worth using.
In revelations, he's recruited with impossibly high stats for his level than in the other two routes, so he can be pretty good there.
But yes, his personality/supports are Mamui v 0.8. It's fun to think of him as wanting to literally be Mamui.

Thing is that Pair-up in Awakening gave ridiculous bonuses, so by the end of the Valm ark everyone had like 40-50 skil after pair-up. The game rolls first for Sol and then for Luna in that order, actually increaing your chance to proc something in the long run (this also happens in Fates)
So on Awakening, where you dumped superpowerful units on the enemy range and skip turns, it was catastrophic to proc Luna instead of Sol when you needed HP. Likewise it was Annoying to proc Sol to something big when you needed damage.
In Fates since you get high 30s% at best you really welcome triggering any skill whatsoever.

Being slow is pretty unacceptable for units that aren't Generals or Xander. It's one of the major reasons why Leo and Orochi are usually regarded as bad units though Orochi at least isn't blind. Like I said, many people find their Silas having the tendency to not get enough Spd level ups to make meaningful contributions as an offensive unit so I'm just giving that anon my thoughts and experience on using him.
Pieri comes in quite a bit later but around the time where many people find that Silas has begun to fall off because of his shabby Spd. She's very easy to level up and has a great personal skill that just screams "keep using me to fight!". Most of your early game units aren't beneficial pair-up partners for Silas. Odin is pretty fucking garbage and gets benched immediately by most people, and Arthur is usually given to Effie. Like I said, there's much less competition for Dracoshields and Seraph Robes so people who use her will probably give her some.
Because Xander is Xander. He does his job too well with his absurd Def and superb personal weapon that it's more worth it to make Azura give him a second turn rather than use another unit. Like I said, Pieri is the only Cav who's fast and can deal with Mages without too much trouble. Having a niche to distinguish yourself from a top-tier unit and being able to do something they can't do very well is what makes Pieri more worth it for some people. As a Cav, Silas is worse than both Xander and Paladin!MU while Pieri can do something both of them usually can't pull of very well.
Since Conquest have limited exp, you need to be smart with how you distribute them amongst your units. A lot of people, like myself, find that having an army with lots of variety who can be versatile to deal with different types of enemies is better, so they only need 2 Cavs. There are limited deployment slots and many different types of enemies with different weaknesses to exploit, so unit variety is a valuable asset.

Pieri is fun for causing havoc, Bloodthirst giving her a moxie boost paired with Azuras singing giving her potential +8 in offense and speed can really scare the AI from doing anything and makes even quick units like Ninjas and Samurais sometimes unable to double a couple times.

Like I said, not a whole lot of +Spd pair-up options and they'd be given to Xander, Camilla, and MU anyways since they're the primary damage dealers/frontliners. Weapons that increase Spd also tend to have lousier Mt and they require lucky drops, My Castle shenanigans. And aren't Mess Hall meals fed to random units? I've had people like Leo and Elise eating Str-boosting meals and Effie eating Mag-boosting meals when they don't need it. I'm currently sitting at the start of 12 in my CQ lunatic playthrough and Beruka outclasses Silas in every single stat but Speed and Luck despite only being 1 level ahead, and Silas has never doubled a single enemy I can remember throughout the entire game. I am curious about whether the next game would be more like Conquest, Birthright, Revelation, or totally different. Personal Experience Means Nothing too, by growths and Average, as Great Knight level 1 vs a Wyvern Lord Level 1 Silas has considerably more Str and HP, about the same Def, will get Luna soon and he doesn't has to watch out for arrows. Silas will also have at least a C rank in Swords if not a B rank and a C rank in Lances too on top of earning Axes.
If we go by Personal Experience, by endgame my Silas usually outclasses Effie in every stat except Strength.

The problems with Birthright isn't the grinding, it's that the objectives are stale, the maps are easy and the enemies are non threatening.
If you took the ability to grind from Birthright, it'd still be a okish game at best. If you allowed Conquest go grind, it'd still have the good level design.

They should just go entirely. Fates did a pretty good move by changing all skills that did nothing but change hit and evade rate into deterministic bonuses. Charm, Demoiselle, Inspiration and whatnot are fantastic and reliable skills that you can always count on.
Just rework skills instead of making them nondeterministic. For example, make it so that Astra gives you an extra attack with half Str for every X spd above the doubling threshold.

Sure, crits kinda fill that purpose too but they don't have the special abilities that procs do like ignoring defense or healing yourself.
