And then there are others like Niles and Oboro who have had something bad happen to them, but again the game doesn't try to beat you over the head with it.

Normal Fated Apotheosis will reward Boots. Secret Fated Apotheosis with reward Bold Stance and will require decking out your army with the Boots from the normal path due to ridiculous unwinnable turn limits on a fuck-huge FE4-tier map.

He has Samurai and Apothecary, which seem kinda useless for him since he's magically-inclined. I'd pick either a better magic class than Onmyoji or something for skills. But I've never really used him outside of a fill-in staffbot.
