HoS is just consistently good. Vanilla game is all over the fucking place, and B&W is also all over the place. Beginning starts out so fucking strong,till the cage scene with Registhen it becomes less about The Beast and more about blackmailers and someone trying to steal the duchess' seat.
HoS was almost all fantasy and mystery, B&W fucked up halfway through. B&W has the best map though, just because of visuals, draw distance and shit. Skellige is too much wasted space, and Velen has alot of wasted space aswell.

Blood and Wine was a disappointment. Too many references, too many memes that conflicted with the tone and it simply didn't know the subtle nature of HoS or the base game.
It was a solid 6, MAYBE 7 due to the price>content ratio but fuck, it was no The Old Hunter/Hearts of Stone in terms of quality.

Tons of side quests. I will strongly say that you should not bother with the Wine Wars questline if you want to have fun and enjoy the game. That is just so much menial tasks, super repetitive and there is no story there. Probably took me like 2 hours to do all of the tasks and it was just fucking awful

I'd also drop HoS down to a solid 8, and B&W to 7. The whole second wish pretty much ruined HoS for me. Starts with possession by a ghost to fulfill his last day, third wish is to go into a painting world to retrieve a rose, but the second is just greedy brothers and killing humans in a city we have been to many times already. It wasn't even a legit house shrunk or anything.
Why do people like HoS so much? It was $10 for 5 hours maximum of playtime, a boring story with a deus ex machina that doesn't fit The Witcher universe at all, and a shitty, unlikable faggot of a main character you're supposed to save from his retarded actions with a piece of shit sword as a reward.
