I can appreciate that logic and can see what your saying and I think that was probably what Kishi was going for, but aside from the times where team 7 looked cool doing things I never really saw any of it. Kishi has always been bad at showing instead of telling, and that's rule #1 of good storytelling. You can't just have naruto say, "sasuke, you were just like me and we went through a lot together and that's why I feel like i need to save you and I won't give up" which is basically exactly what Kishi did. You have to fucking show us or I won't be invested in it. You can't say how great sasuke's character is and how he's worth saving. I have to fucking see a fleshed out character through how he interacts with people and situations. As an audience we need to see things and not just assume whatever.

As mentioned, Madara and his husbando would probably end up legit consummating and in place of Tsunade would be a clan of people with god eyes. When I change costumes for Naruto on some of his slots, his pose and jutsus change. Is there any rhyme or reason to which Narutos are on which slot? Do all the Narutos in a given slot share the same moveset and properties even if they have otherwise different jutsus?

The different versions of Naruto differ by moveset, though individual costumes within that one variant can have small differences like UJs.
A Sage Mode/Konoha High AU costume Nardo for instance has a distinct enough set of moves from regular or Sot6P modo Nardo to have its own slot. The regular meanwhile goes from early series to Wind Element Arc all the way up to Adventure Mode or all the silly costumes like Lederhosen.
I may or may not be correct on this one but all the costumes of a single variant might share an Awakening too.
So even Hokage Kakashi has the same old Awakening with a Sharingan, though it makes no sense whatsoever for him to do that.

The Byakugan I am willing to forgive, on the grounds that first, it's not overly powerful, doing what normal eyes do just a bit better, and second, beyond such powers of sight anything the user can do is because THEY can do it, the eye's job is only seeing shit, not creating the Kaiten for instance. Personal skill is still very much present, it does not take over.
On another note it's weird that while the eyes got kekkei genkai, other organs didn't. Imagine kekkei genkai noses, ears, elbows or kidneys, not to mention the inevitable genitalia with kekkei genkai.

I was at mid level I (3rd of 5) and it dramatically improved my Japanese, more than any other part of my study so far, including actually visiting Japan. I've only been taking Japanese for 2 semesters, and we've only covered 20 out of 23 chapters in Genki I and II, so I only know most of the basic grammar structures. So I would guess by Middlebury's classes I'm in between Beginning II and Intermediate I. So yeah, practically a n00b, not conversational.
But I think I might have a way to get the money and I might do it anyways, especially if I can't find a Japanese language program where I can actually go to Japan (which have all been cheaper) on such short notice. I could get a student visa in as little as 2-3 days, being in DC, but a lot of deadlines have already passed.
But knowing that everyone has fun definitely makes me feel a lot less intimidated about the immersion thing, and makes me want to do it in spite of the cost.

I'm only running text for the current campaign, because one of the players has to use a browser on their phone (yeah, I know), so it's bad enough.
I prefer text because I don't like my voice, but that being said, playing with voice DOES allow the game to proceed faster, since we don't have to wait for typing. If I find a party of people who all want to use voice, I'm happy to try it. I have to use mobile data though, so I don't know what the quality would be like.
Roll20 also uses a top-down map layout, so alongside the textbox there's a visual representation of what's happening. It's honestly pretty decent, considering it's all 100% free unless you feel like you NEED the premium gear.

I don't believe Sasuke stayed in the Uchiha compound after the Massacre. At least not at that age. He would've become a ward of the stated until he became of age and would've had Village-funded living residences, similar to what Naruto had.
