So half the sources I look at say to play D.Va by flanking and picking off people and using the booster to escape and the other half say to play her by boosting into people and using the Evangelion shield to draw and absorb fire and let your teammates do most of the actual shooting.
Which is it? Is it a combination of the two? Does it matter?

Here's something I've noticed about Reinhardt. I want to see if others have noticed it as well.
They can't leave each other alone. They just can't. A Reinhardt sees an enemy Reinhardt, and they both think "he needs to go."
And as somebody who, for various reasons, has had to play a LOT of Reinhardt, I've noticed that I've started doing it.
There can only be one.
That's really all there is to it. Reinhardt's are territorial. When they see another of their kind, they MUST force it to submit. They MUST vye for the position of Alpha Reinhardt. I did it subconsciously at first, without thinking: I just saw them and I knew what I had to do. But I'm much more aware of it now. I know that when I see another big guy, I have to break him. I need to assert my dominance, and he must submit to me. And he'll think the same thing. He always does. That's the way it is.
I don't know why I have to charge enemy Rein's, screaming "let me show you how it's done," before choke slamming them into a wall and desperately beating the ever loving christ out them with my hammer. When they do the same to me, I'm not sure they know why either. Nature simply compels us.

As a Reinhardt main I can confirm this. I get into this animalistic alpha mode to take down the other Reinhardt as a display of power. It also feels incredibly good when you end up taking down the other Reinhardt with your skill. And I'm not even a guy but I love doing this.
But it also has to deal with the fact that when you main Reinhardt, you are knowledgeable of how truly OP he is when it comes to protecting payloads or points. In other words, it's better to take down the other Reinhardt as quickly as possible.

If you charge a Bastion in tank form, when he is slammed against a wall, he will turn back to normal.

Spending 6 hours losing most of my games because my team funnels into a point in groups or 2-4 is getting beyond frustrating. Theres a Widow set up on the point and you think peeking while waiting for your team to come back is a good idea. All we have to do is group up with a Rein and push as a team with someone sneaking around the back while the enemy is distracted. Instead you hear that Widow is walling and decide to try to flank with your Genji and get instantly killed the second your head pops out from around the corner and complain that your team is shit.
Most of the time ill play support and teammates will just ignore me dying to that Genji/Reaper/Tracer, or on the off chance they react and try to kill the person they spend 30 seconds trying to kill the enemy before I cant dodge anymore and die while they follow shortly after.
I cant take this shit anymore, even when I do hop on a damage dealer or a tank I cant get my team to work together. Just now on Gibraltar my entire team ran to their spawn after hitting the next to last point leaving me to push the cart as Soldier while they sat at their spawn staircase and died to a Pharah ult.

You would be right if it was done correctly. It isn't.
The correct way to do it is to have a bracket system or MMR range for players and match them based on that.The more wins you get the better players you get matched with. Fairly straightforward. Eventually you will reach a point where you are evenly matched and everyone on your team and opposing team is of a similar skill level. That is how it SHOULD be done.
What Blizzard is doing is matching you up with better opposing teams while at the same time handicapping you with a bad team. Close matches don't really exist in this system because the skill levels are so lopsided. They are forcing a 50% rate by putting you on bad teams instead of putting you in matches where the skill level of every player there is higher. It is a bad system.

I know a lot of people agree, but Bastion really isn't overpowered. He can be taken down very easily. A stationary, non-tank character is an easy target. A lot of people playing this game are simply just unaware of their surroundings.
Bastion, being one of my mains, I play him quite a bit. I see how people react. On defense, the enemy team will just kind of rush in and get murdered. When they respawn, maybe half the people learn not to come rushing in this time.
The people who do not learn are the ones who complain. While being unknowingly mowed down by an enemy Bastion can be frustrating, it's part of the game and there are several ways to avoid it.

Junkrat and Roadhog could be fun too; most tanks though would be a little dull. I can't imagine Reinhardt being fun in a single player game.

If he pops it right next to you then you're fucked. If you see Reaper trying to get close to your teammates without any assistance from his team, you can almost be sure he's about to ult. So the option is to kill him immediately and risk him trying it again, or wait for him to pop it and then kill him so he won't have it afterwards.
