They don't want to encourage it. PonPon pretty much admitted that they keep smite casualized because people are less likely to quit if you throw them into arena vs make them actually play conquest because it's too confusing or hard. So it keeps casuals happy, they buy skins, and boom- You have a playerbase full of people who never play conquest because there's no reason at all for them to. Ranked might as well be removed.

The only god those people care about is Ares and maybe Nox. Half the gods are barely even viable in other modes so nobody cares.
Hi-Rez balances around conquest because like it or not they have a competitive scene. They're forced to. Even Riot does specific mode balancing, if Hi-Rez really cared they'd do something like that, but they don't, because nobody fucking cares about balance in those modes.

Can someone explain the "Loki is useless if you focus him down early" meme? You can't focus him down, because he isn't going to be in any position where you can kill him at that point in the game. A somewhat competent Loki will not be baited into a 3v1 at level 4, and as long as he survives until he gets 4 points into his decoy, he's going to be outfarming and outleveling every god in the match.

Fortunately, there are plenty of bad players, especially those for Loki.
I don't mean to sound like Reddit, but one thing I don't like about Loki's kit is that he isn't really fooling anyone. It would be interesting if he was based around leading enemies into confusion or disarray, or somehow turning the enemy team against each other. His only real tricks are killing someone really fast, or killing an objective really fast, and his whole scheme is completely thwarted when someone decides to check out a lane nobody's been to for a while. At least they got the part right where he's a dick and generally everyone hates him.

I dunno if you've played LoL but Shaco somewhat reminds me of what Loki should be. They're similar already sure, but a lot of Loki's tactics are more about being deadly than being a trickster.
I suspect they had a lot of ideas for Loki, but ultimately decided he would be too annoying to play against. Imagine if his decoy actually ran towards gods and exploded, or his aimed strike confused enemies instead of slowing them.

Theres a reason they started hiding stats from us. Smitestuff used to have a ton of into on playerbase population, from most populated game mode to times a god was played. Once Hi-Rez couldn't lie about "le millions of players" anymore they blocked a lot of statistics. hirez specifically wanted to "disable the ability for third-party sources to pull League MMR (MatchMaking Rating) data through our API"
The only area the playerbase is growing in is consoles, but that means fuck all for matchmaking or playerbase purposes because the servers are separate and the consoles are nowhere near the size of the PC population.

I look at steam stats, spl viewer count, subreddit statistics (hirez's most populated 'forum'), all of those show less overall growth. Spl viewship seems to be the biggest decrease, but this could simply be because the meta is lame as fuck.
Whether or not you actually buy into that we have millions of people playing daily, steam averages about 8-10k players,peaking at 20k+ which is a decent playerpool. Obviously we don't know exactly how many people play on PC daily.
I've played smite for 3 years now, I used to get matched with people very close to my amount of games played(3k in conquest). Nowadays I'm consistently put with people with barely over 200 games, and my games are stomps. Very rarely do I get close games anymore.
I'm also in the clan, and while the clan might be bigger, that's way too small of a sample size.
I'm not saying Smite is on the verge of shutting down in a few weeks, but I'm saying that we aren't seeing any real growth when you look at the other sources. The fact that hirez has been shady about hiding stats doesn't help.

This may not indicate playerbase is improving as it could be cash cows are just spending more, but there's definite confidence in how HiRez is handling moving forward.

Death's toll is usually better because if you use her hammer, you get a shit ton of sustain. All you really need after is war boots and usually just build as tanky as you can.

It's pretty good, Bellona is effective when she can stand in front of the enemy autoing over and over. All three of her auto attack passives are made for this. She gets a ton of mileage out of the item, setting up teammates, winning boxing matches, and sticking to enemies trying to run.
However your build needs work otherwise. She doesn't benefit all that much from CDR. Because of the way her 1 and 3 works, she often wants to stay in the same stance for an extended period of time rather than just rotate through skills constantly. You can build the stat on her, but Jotuun's and Breastplate aren't that great.
Try something like Warrior Tabi -> Nemean Lion -> Pestilence -> Frostbound Hammer -> Ichaival if you want more damage -> more defense

This is just my personal opinion, but the moment they reworked(read: fucked it up even more) the jungle earlier this year, it became obvious that it was a bad change. The jungle + mid rotating meta(which existed before the patch, mind you) quickly made mid lane less fun for 1v1 match-up purposes. I haven't had fun in mid lane since last year. Similarly jungle was affected, can't reliably farm the jungle so you're stuck soaking a lane, and even if you wanted to farm the jungle hirez hasn't implemented anything to discourage camp sharing, so people would just bitch at you.
Then there were a bunch of item changes that were SHIT for support. A role nobody fucking plays anyway and you make it shit for absolutely no reason. We had to deal with shit defense items while Ao Kaung is happily shredding people in 2 hits.
Also god releases this year have all been really unfun to play against.
Ama, Raijin, Skadi, and now Susano. Just unfun to play against. Jing was alright though, and while shes under-performing somewhat, I'd rather have a new god be weak than bullshit.
The icing on the cake is that theres been no shortage of chest or events this year. To the point where it seems like they think the game is in a completely fine state right now. It may be for Arena or Clash, but certainly not conquest.
I can go more in-depth, especially with what makes conquest shit specifically, but it's like this year hirez decided to say fuck it for conquest players.

To deal with invisible gods like loki you have to pay attention to his loud sound effects (either turn off or set music to like 20, voice to max and sound effects to like 90 or max.), you can use DoT effects to track him down (the ticks of damage follow him), zone him out/force him to take damage if he still goes in with your aoe abilities, etc.

I'm done with this game. The amount of toxicity and pure scumbaggery is like no other. This isn't a post based off rage, just utter disappointment at how shit the console ommunity is. I have maybe 2, 3 good games tops a day. The rest is filled with pugs who don't know their roles, build shit builds, or everyone instakocks assasins. I'm not great, so I can't carry my team every game. But the ammount of afk, F7 warriors or "troll" feeders are insane. Partying up isnt bad, but it always ends with your friends getting pissed and quitting. Ranked also, can be cool, but it's all about whos the weakest link, no skill is involved just luck. The pure fun this game provides does not outweigh the tired, grinding, annoying games. I'm going to go back to emulating Nintendo games, than have to deal with these scumfucks.

Since he doesn't have any escapes, I was thinking of buffing the hives. Apart from the buffs it gives to AMC,
