There's a setting to change it to toggle, and also to stop Guardian Angel locking onto your healing target.
With Mercy, you may as well toggle healing so you don't have to worry about accidentally releasing your mouse button and losing your target.
By unlocking the Guardian Angel target, you can continue healing one person while using your team-mates to move quickly around a small area (eg. Using a distant Widow-maker to pull yourself out of Genji melee range while staying in healing range of a 76 that's trying to kill him.)

Am I missing something? Zarya's lightning gun does worse damage that Mercy's pistol when uncharged, and when fully charged it only does 50% more but it can't headshot (so arguably it does 25% less in ideal circumstances. She seems like one of the worst damage heroes in the game, yet she isn't tanky enough to just outlast heroes in a push. Is the entire point of her to throw out clutch shields to save allies and then get a black hole combo going? Why not just play Mei and be similarly difficult to kill while throwing up clutch walls and freezing people? You even have a similarly powerful set-up ult.

Do you have your shield available? Get enemies to shoot you, then pop shield and laugh at them. Half your HP pool recharges automatically, so you can afford to wait until you're actually taking damage. If you do it too early you look like a retard. Is your shield recharging? Shit grenades in their general direction. By the way, a grenade costs 25 ammo, but you can still fire one if you have 1 ammo left, so you can get a little extra R1 damage in with 4 grenades.

I've played Reinhardt and Lucio for 7 fucking hours. My play time for every other hero combined only totals 5. He can stun multiple people with the flashbang, but good luck killing all of them with one fan before they recover. McCree's main utility is punishing shitty lone wolf behaviour. If McCree can waddle his way up to you and catch you, you've already lost unless he's retarded, but chances are good you weren't actually contributing anything useful so nothing of value was lost.
Situational awareness is your best weapon when it comes to him; make sure you know where he is and for FUCK sake stay away from him unless you know for a confirmed fact his flashbang is on cooldown. Stay at medium/long range, and most importantly KEEP him at medium-long range by peppering him with gunfire. He's not a tank, he'll go down like any other if he doesn't retreat eventually.
Also, if he can actively throw his flashbang over your shield and unload into you uncontested, your team has failed you completely because they should be standing behind the shield, pouring fire through it and making it unviable for McCree to get close enough to put you down. Or you were being a dumb motherfucker and tried to go solo as fucking reinhardt, so you basically deserved the respawn time. Either way, it all comes down to retardation.

One widowmaker is good, if a bit offputting. Infrasight is a fucking insanely useful ult, after all, and if the player can keep it rolling with kills then it can be the i win button the team needs

It was total dogshit, but because nobody wanted to get embarrassed by dying to a spy/sniper/pyro/engy/heavy, the players forced their artificial "MUH SKILL" meta on the game and only played scout/demo so they could get LE EPIC HEADSHOT KILLS.

That voice audio cue comes way too early. As soon as I hear DIE DIE DIE he hasn't started shooting yet, so I spin and headshot him. It gives you almost a full 2 seconds before the shots start. It's really dumb considering he's supposed to be stealthy.
