Well characters like that are pretty damn useful if you want to make the investigation as blurry as possible to have twist during the trial. If you knew who the killer was each time ,there would be a lot of frustration ,like for 1-1.
But I am kinda mixed about that. Sometimes choosing the right bullet proof was shit and you had no idea what to do ,but the game gave some nice twists because of exactly how restricted we are in "what to think" ,like 1-4 or 2-1

Yeah I liked Chiaki better than Kyoko for that instance up to chapter 5.
Togami could be argued to be put in the same category because of 1-2 but it isn't as noticeable for the latter cases.
But maybe it's just the class trials writing that's to blame. They rely too much on overcomplicated chains of events ,especially in 2. Maybe more organic and believable chains of events ,where everyone has to actually brainstorm instead of one characters withholding informations and clues would be better

Basically, it's a what if scenario, where DR1 students are in Jabberwock Island instead, that means all of the students are replaced completely with DR1 students. The story will have some changes to adjust to that.

Yeah it was but chapter 2-2 was pretty lacklustre in characters development. Beside fan service with the swimsuits and "Mahiru is nice and won't do your FTE death flag" we didn't have much. The investigation was a lot too focused on the twilight syndrome case too.
1-2 was fun because Togami was having fun so it's okay ,but both 2-3 and 1-3 killed way too many characters in a way too bullshit way, and then we entered the 50 hours long chapters that are great but with too few characters
2-1 is one of my favorite tho ,because the Twogami and the whole Nagito hype

Well, the issue was that earlier, I had to replace each voice clip with the other character all based of tone and what they are saying.
But now, I figured out voice codes in the script, so I can essentially copy all the voice clips from DR1 and put it in DR2 and simply reroute the script to that specific voice clip I want them to play.
The same goes for sprites, music, sound effects, animations, you name it.
