Alright, after two days of tryharding and getting up to a 56% winrate over 200 games, I'm officially giving up on trying to maintain my winrate until ranked comes out. I just got put in three games in a row where within ten seconds of me joining the game ends, and it ends up counting against me. Aim, since you can't fall back on splash-damage. Heal-up whenever you get a chance. Turn on friendly health bars so you can see if your team would benefit from a top-up.
Depending on the situation, you might be best sticking to your Reinhardt or being a mid-range guard for flankers and choke-points.
If you're playing against shitters, just run up to them and shoot while jumping a lot.
Not sure if it's ideal, but it's how I do it and it works for me.

Your turret is unimportant. It's there to warn you about intruders and get assists on every kill in the game. The only time it really kicks ass is during your ult, at which point it has so much HP you don't need to watch over it. In fact, you should never be watching over your turret, since it only takes about 15 seconds to make a new Level 2 turret.
Now the real reason to play him is his gun. It's a tiny projectile that's affected by gravity, but a headshot does about 140 damage. Considering the fire rate, if you have the distance you can take down any tank except maybe Reinhardt. Alt-fire will fuck over anybody who thinks you're an easy target or a Tracer who thinks she can blink in, take out your gun, and recall. This all gets even stronger during your ult, where you become a tiny ball of pure hatred.
