Eh. In practice, Blaze is more comparable to Knuckles than to Shadow. She's the devout and sole custodian of a great mystical power, but her intensity is constantly undercut by her lack of social grace. Shadow hasn't really been able to sell the conviction angle since Sonic Heroes butchered his backstory, and his personality is written such that he's introverted, superior, and often somewhat morose. Not much to undercut there.

That Generations mod made me realize that even if you disregard the glitches, load times and fucked physics, '06 is still a terrible game with absolutely horrendous level design. Or maybe I'm just too used to boost2win.
