I was looking at Interceptors and Assault Frigates compared to their T1 counter-parts. Is there a point to the T1s if you can afford the Interceptor? Seems like it's inferior in every possible way except cost.
Assault Frigates are almost the same except their speed is way less. Why wouldn't I get a Cruiser or Destroyer instead if I'm going to be that slow? Their tank is about the same with better DPS, AFs only have signature radius going for them as far as I can tell.

I guess I should probably think about a better reason than I like trying to solve problems regarding efficient operations(finding systems to mine in, shipping ore, moving/deploying mining barges/poses). I tackle for gangs using T1 attack frigates, and I find that literally everyone goes for it. if I was in a stiletto or malediction, they'd know instantly that I'm tackling for a fleet and they'd run away or not aggress or whatever. when they see some retard fumbling about in a slasher though, it's different. being cheaper is a great thing too, I pretty much just throw these things away. with an interceptor it's like you've fucked up if you die trying to get the kill, but with a 7 mil slasher, it's usually worth it if you've snagged a faction cruiser or whatever for your gang

You are also retarded, very very few people mine as their primary way to have fun in this game, as someone who has been mining forever with alts and know the community and how they think I can tell you it is mostly something done by alts on the background, done as AFKable as possible just to make money to fund pvp and buy dumb ships like supers and titans.
Even the ones that do it as a primary acivity take it to the next level of complexity to the point where there is no AFK because of the massive amount of miners (I'm talking 30 man hulks) and freighting needes.
