All is quiet on the katawa-front.
The climax of Rin's route in which she says that all that she was ever afraid of was Hisao's kindness puts everything in perspective in hindsight. The story-line makes perfect sense when seen as Rin in Hisao's position as the pursuer in the romance as her 1st and 2nd acts show that the biggest obstacle besides Hisao's inability to understand her was her inability to deal with his attention. Fittingly, all of the decisions Hisao can make could show him either to be misunderstanding like everyone else or there for her regardless despite the options having little outward variation; not unlike how scenes in the other routes can have slight variations but yield drastically different results.

Yes. One of the main points of the route, I believe, is that some people are hard to understand, but just showing you care by trying to, even if you fail, can make anyone feel really appreciated. Rin is having all these identity issues partly because she is interested in Hisao and sees a possible relationship with him, but doesn't know how to react in such a situation or if she is someone who is able to be in a relationship, considering the usual lack of understanding from other people.I was tempted to post just a "Yes.", seeing I can agree with most of your post.

All of the katawa teach an important concept for having healthy relationships. Shizune's is the most overt: Be faithful and have faith in others. For Lilly, honesty is the basis of a relationship and withholding the truth because you don't want to worry your partner will cause more harm than good. With Rin, supporting someone is more important than understanding them. Hanako makes it clear that putting someone else's desires ahead of your own instead of compromising will only make both of you unhappy. Conversely, Emi's route shows that it's worth the risk of relying on someone for support instead of fighting for your independence.
