Promoting the game on the wrong places (like facebook) so they can't keep a good influx of new players, taking too to release big updates because UniqueExperience(tm) made some people quit rather than waiting while having nothing to do other than farm meteors. There are people that don't even know that DFO is back, and they don't even try to call veterans back even with all these "pls come back" events (I didn't even get an e-mail for the Best Call Ever event, I found it by accident while taking a look at the site after a long break. I also missed a bunch of stuff I would love to buy like petit friends and awakening avatars). They seriously believe that memes, facebook's likes and instagram's followers are enough too promote the game.
And, of course, endgame is far more PVE/grind-oriented than PVP-oriented. Not everyone's cup of tea, especially with all these new and shiny PVP games being released.
Is there an endgame guide somewhere for someone who is literally brand new to the game? No clue what I'm doing staring at this wall of dailies.

Start with doing normal otherverse solo. You have unlimited coins, and the game tells you how to do all the gimmicks. Otherverse dungeons give chronicle gear, with the sets providing pretty significant increases to your skills. Scroll to the bottom of http://wiki.dfo-world.com/view/2nd_Chronicle to see what sets are available for each class. If you're not sure which set is best for a particular class, ask in the thread and someone will usually answer. Set pieces only drop from expert or higher, and you need exorcism (attained from any chronicle piece) to enter higher difficulties: 10 for normal, 80 for expert, and 95 for master. Having more than the required exorcism gives you a stat boost (capped at +10 exo), having under the required lowers your stats dramatically.
There are some skips that can be done in otherverse that speeds up the daily grind. The important ones are:
Goblin Kingdom Room 5: Throw oil under the goblin trap, and ignite it with fire damage (usually from a bomb). This will explode the trap and end the room early. It will also kill you, so use some form of invincibility to get through, or just spend the coin. You need ~5 oils solo, and 8 in a group to kill the bomb.
Castle Nebulous Room 2, 3: Repentance (the debuff from a crusader's hammer) stops the enemies from healing each other in room 2. Iframes or a nen bubble (such as the one from the number28 item) will let you survive the lightning from killing the wrong enemies in room 3, allowing you to burst the room and ignore the gimmick.
Void Rift Room 2, 3, 6: Repentance will make the boss in room 2 kill himself if he hits his cubes twice. Junk spinning the boss in room 3 before he jumps will hold him. The boss of the dungeon can be damaged when transitioning phases.
Bakal Room 4: The boss can be damaged when he finishes casting, but enters iframes if held.
Dark Side Room 6: Holding the boss will prevent him from using his gimmicks. Requires some timing to do it right.

In addition to your daily otherverse, you'll want to get a decent weapon. A halidom weapon will usually last until you can find something better. You can create a halidom weapon from using a unique halidom conversion recipe which drops from normal dungeons on a magic-sealed weapon. Running scenarios for a region will give you a box (which expires daily for no fucking reason) which contains the fragments you need to use the recipe. You'll get an average of 2 fragments per box. Pic related is the materials needed for a level 85 halidom item, which means you need to run about 112 scenarios (have fun).
The next easiest upgrade from a Halidom is usually a requiem/liberation weapon. You can run normal ancients for low-grade appeasing stones, and True ancients for normal appeasing stones, 2 per day of each. You can buy a requiem weapon for either 140 low grade stones or 100 normal ones. A requiem weapon can be upgraded to a liberation weapon with a recipe sold by Iris, which requires 14 normal appeasing stones. It has a 10% chance to succeed. If you fail 10 times, you can upgrade your requiem weapon to an untradeable liberation, which just means you can't reseal it and sell it when you're done with it. The wiki has walkthroughs of all the ancient dungeons, which are generally much more straightforward than otherverse.

Anton dungeons are the next (and last, currently) step in progression. A guide for normal anton is in the OP of the thread. Anton requires decent gear and consumables to run effectively. Generally, you should only attempt it when otherverse and ancients no longer have anything to offer you. Don't worry about it too much right now, since yu won't be running it for another few months at least (if you're even still around then).
Parallel to all this, you have hells, which can be run regardless of your gear. Hells require demon invitations to run, 26 per run in zelva. Hells can drop the best gear in the game (ebins), but they won't drop for you. Sane people save up their invites for a hell event, and pray that they get lucky (they rarely do). If you do happen to get lucky, though, you can skip all the above forms of endgame and go directly to the true endgame: idling in town complaining about a lack of content with the rest of dfog.

You can consider these areas as endgame stuff:

Dungeons that drops chronicle-tier gear.
Here you farm equipment pieces for specific sets for your class. Some are good, most are dogshit. Gotta do some research about your class to focus on the best set for you.
Main dailies here are on the Daily stuff window, complete all to get up to 5 fragments (currency used to buy gear peices if you are unlucky with drops). You also get frags from drops, events, and breaking tainted gear (non-set chron3 gear) with dimensional auras (also drops).
>Ancients on Saint Horn
Dungeons that drops legendary-tier gear.
Similar to Otherverse, you either get lucky with drops or farm currency to buy stuff (stuff from legendary shop can't be found as drops and vice-versa, though). Each dungeon have its own currency that you can trade with Luther for gear sets and weapons.
There are two types of dungeons: Ancients and EX/Requiem. Ancient is basically the easy mode. All dailies also have two versions because of it. Requiem version will give more rewards, and you can't complete the same type of daily more than once per day.
"What should I get/work on?". Depends of your class. Some popular stuff are King Ruins' bracelet (+10% damage) and Ghost Train's pants (level 1-45 Skills +1).
Iris on Time Requiem have her own daily quests related to Liberation weapons (high tier weapons with great overall stats). You need either 140 Ancient-tier mats (purple things) or 100 EX tier mats (blue things) to buy one requiem weapon, then you use it to craft a liberation weapon. The normal recipe is RNG-based but won't destroy your weapon and will create a tradeable weapon so you can sell it on AH. The other recipe is RNG-free and can be used after fail the normal recipe 10 times, it will craft an untradeable liberation weapon.

>Mt. Kulun on Shonan
A bunch of silly dailies to get mats for some unique gear and beads, plus an easier way to get non-set chron gear (some classes love this shit). First dungeon is a DPS race that drops Unrefined Nen Crystals (sell to NPCs for easy gold) based on your clear time.
>Power Station and Castle of Dead Circulation mode
After you complete all story quests in these areas, you will unlock Circulation Mode. You basically revisit story mode stages on higher difficulties. Completing a run will give you Halidom fragments, used to craft Halidom gear (requires a magic-tier item and a recipe that drops from bosses).
Halidom is unique-tier, so above magic-tier but below legendary-tier. Also inferior to Chron-tier depending of your class, but it is much easier to get and you can use it while you farm better stuff.
Power Station is fairly easy to farm and will create level 80 halidom stuff, CotD is a grindy hell but will give you level 85 halidom stuff. level 85 is obviously superior, but if you just want something to fill the empty slots while you wait for better stuff, level 80 will do a decent job most of the time. You also can combine level 80 and 85 pieces for their set effects.
If you are feeling lucky, you can use Seria's Compounding option to reroll a magic item's stats, with a chance of turning it into a legacy item. You can upgrade legacy to halidom tier with no halidom fragment costs by using Seria's recipe from her shop.

At cost of Demon Invitations, you can create a unique room on a dungeon that will have NPC characters (and possibly a boss before them) waiting to wreck your shit. It is actually fairly easy (you can even do it with halidom gear) if you don't get stun-locked to death, so just pay attention and keep moving.
Killing all enemies on that room (no need to complete the dungeon run) will give you epic fragments, maybe demon eyes (used to buy more demon invites or low-level epic items), and MAYBE, at a very low chance, a random epic-tier item.
It is basically gambling, really.

1 vs 1~4 fights against NPC characters. There are 100 floors and you can do one per day (two with Neo Premium Plus™). After you complete all floors, you get a coin that you can use to buy an Epic Pot (random level 65-85 epic-tier gear).
Untradeable pot costs 5mil to open, tradeable pot costs 40mil to open. Like all epic-tier things, it is basically gambling. You can either open the untradeable one for you or sell the tradeable one on AH.

-Speaking of partying in general, make it actually worth the players' while. At best, it only makes OV go slightly faster due to how the drops work. That's frankly a disgrace given other grind simulators or other online games in general can at least PRETEND partying is beneficial.

Vagabond used to be one of the worst classes in the game because of her mediocre passives and stupid gimmicks and side effects on certain attacks. That is why people bully her a lot.
She still is the weakest f.slayer class, but her rework and 2nd awakening fixed helped her a lot. Now she is "decent class that requires money/luck to be top tier", like many other classes that aren't avenger and creator.

Ghent is also faster and easily skippable now. Scenario mode added some shitty stuff (like blade master fuckboy annoying you everywhere), but being able to skip shitty storylines by just buying a x3 exp pot on mileage shop (and using the auto-clear button after you outlevel then) is really nice.
