Can you ever let the AI control your siege unit deployment? Everytime I defend a siege every unit gets an instant order to follow me so even in mods where they do -start- in the right spot (archers at archer holes in the walls, melee on the ramps/gates) it doesn't matter because they all abandon it and ruin the siege, turning it into some kind of worse-terrain shitfest.

Given the historical and continuing importance of rape as a psychological aspect of war, I am surprised it has not been included as a playable feature before.

I, for one, look forward to the potential of accurately simulated sexually violent encounters in the new game engine.

Who, of those people who worked on this mod, thought it was a good fucking idea to make the ONLY entrance to this city in the siege this single, TINY TINY door with TWO 'doors' you have to break (protip: the ai fucking sucks at breaking doors and will stand too close to it swinging but not doing damage)

I remember in version 1.9 or something he removed the essos troop trees entirely and replaced them with identical mercenaries, then in the next update added back the troop trees, but only had one unit per faction that could just be upgraded into veterans.

Chaos is pretty fucking sweet. A force of 40 undivided champions can chew through any force three times its size, including bretonnians.

Elves are also great, though they can wear human stuff. Only non-human faction that seems sorta weak are orcs because they are slow and have terrible ranged combat. Goblins at least make up for mediocre archers with fast, hard hitting cavalry.

Also Skellingtons have great heavy infantry and cavalry. Lizardmen are similar in that regard, but seem to be more beefy, with a large variety of troops and slightly weaker ranged units. There are also a good amount of legendary lizardmen items you can get from the wizard shops

I was frustrated in Floris because I had to wait for T4 to get 2hander troops for example.
And Halberdiers are not the same as pikes. In fact they would be used together in formations so it makes no sense to have pikes on T3 and only get halberds on T4-
And you're not forced to have 3 upgrades choice at each tier, its entirely up to the modder.

I get that you can go around it, wich is what I do when modding. I just want an option to have a less unnatural way of doing it in order to bring more diversity to my troop trees because I am TIRED to have my footmen evolving into fucking swadian man-at-arms.
On the whole a system using that kind of 3 branch upgrades would be a lot more credible and far more predictable and understandable and would allow for more troop diversity without having to go into too many Tiers. wich is good.

I was considering giving them a crossbow unit tree but I figured since they have guns why would anyone use crossbows? Sure it might be more historically accurate for crossbows to still be used in that time period but I couldn't see any player using them.


I was also considering not just having one infantry tree for samurai and those samurai having certain weapons based on the clan. Instead I would split it up to Yari Samurai, Naginata Smurai, Katana>Tachi>Nodachi Samurai, Konasaibo>Tetsubo Samurai & Nagamaki Samurai.

That might just be Total War influencing me though. I also thought it might of been to big a difference from "vanilla" gekokujo for some people. I never did ask you guys about the idea so maybe some people would prefer the variation?

if that's a gap in T4 in the skirmisher line you could make a crossbow unit that upgrades into a gunner since xbows are basically inferior to guns

I generally play Swadia and just lance stuff. I used to fear the Rhodoks as a Swadian, their armor was thick, and their shields broad. So when we declared war on them this game I feared for my first battle with a Rhodok lord, but it didn't go like I feared. We swarmed them, surrounding them, their ranks broke almost instantly and we just circled them picking off targets like they were livestock for shooting practice.

I really, really, like being a horselord. Also its hilarious how horse archer units transition from literal garbage tier to deathgods over like 1 or 2 ranks. Once they get high tier they just slaughter everything and can like never miss.

I also remember in Fallout: New Vegas having a quest where you help group of NCRs figure out why one of their soldiers was acting so strange. Turns out she was raped by a raider while out on patrol. Then there was a raider house as you go through and read notes it implies they kept a girl/child prisoner to rape. At the end of the dungeon you find her stuffed toy.

Is there some strategy other than 'bumrush up the two shitty suicide ladders into the sea of slavs who will meatgrind you' that I need to successfully siege? It's getting pretty ridiculous. No matter what I send up this wall my men are killed at this sort of rate.

Also tried having all the crossbows sit and fire at the walls for awhile while shields soaked enemy fire but the only person getting any kills was me, very occasionally would the AI manage a kill.

a very important thing for sieges is sending in your infantry in 2 waves; first your shieldfuckers to establish a beachhead and draw the archers' fire, then your 2handers once your shieldfuckers are either expended (and therefore soaked up heaps of the enemy's javelins) or have managed to break through and stake out a beachhead around the top of the ladder - your 2handers will make mincemeat of other troop types provided they don't get shot up on their way

and obviously have your archers just out of javelin range because javelins are fucking nasty in 1257

Well infantry, shields or not, loses easily 3/4ths of the men just trying to make it up the ladder, and I can't split the AI Lords units between shield and nonshield, only my own. Plus the fact that the enemy doesn't seem to be running out of ammo. It might have something to do with the current battle size, because look at my infantry line's shields after maybe 1min into the battle, meanwhile I've had archers kill about 8 men total between the genoese and the welsh.

Currently at 350 battle sizer, which doesn't really seem that high especially for field battles, but I'm not sure what people play on for 1257
