shut down hooligan shenanigans and stop divekicks with st.jab, st.hk, mp aurora. st.mk can work nicely at certain ranges as well. Know your crush counter punishes off of aa st.hk because you'll get the opportunity to bust them out frequently against a hooligan/divekick-happy cammy.
Eventually a smart cammy will stop doing that shit and it because an honest footsie match in Vega's favor. You should know the drill there.
When she gets in it can seem really opressive because she can frame trap you for a relatively long time before giving up her turn, but stay calm and remember she has no overhead so you're only really worrying about being tick thrown. Be ready to dash forward and under when she tries to renew her pressure with a divekick.

Air dash forward is used raw in 2 different situations.
1: as a jumpin with a different arc
This is fucking slow and unsafe as hell, even more than your stardard jumpin in a street fighter game.
2: applying overheads in your pressure, on wakeup or otherwise.
This is more akin to Hops in KoF or doing safejumps in any other game, but with greater amount of options.

Now that I think about it, I noticed that some of the issues in SFV (like slow walkspeeds and "stubby" normals) were actually a thing from 3S.

Like, see a neutral focused match in SFIV and a neutral focused one in V. While SFV fixed lots of the issues that came out with SFIV (lots of vortex situations, removal of call-out tools like FADCs and lots of OSes), SFV's neutral game feels a bit weirder. The developer clearly wants the players to focus more on the raw fundamentals and spacing, but then you see that the tools that actually were capable of improving that playstyle don't actually work that well. Lots of normals tend to whiff more than they did in SFIV, a (supposedly?) fighting game that became more focused on setplays than the neutral game, and that's because normals in SFV (or at least for most of the cast) are weird and stubby. That goes completely against the idea of a fighting game focused on the neutral phase. That's why I think this game is closer to something like 3S rather than ST. A lot of people see easy combos and high damage and they think "uh, that's more like ST", but when you actually see more than just combos and damage you'll notice the game has really little to do with ST.

guys i bought sfv from GAME but when i opened the case the disc was entirely black and when i put it in my ps4 my cfn id was forced to be RyuIsDead an my flag is a skull and crossbones and also the graphics are really lifelike but gory (charlie cuts you in half with his CA) and when i tried to return it to GAME the shop was gone????

>has a meter where it slowly builds up when you don't attack and goes down when you hit/whiff moves. when this meter is full you can one shot people with the really slow heavy attacks, when it's empty these same moves do jab level damage. this encourages you to be careful with just hrowing out normals without completely removing the "throw out a safe normal and shimmy" style of neutral game

>many normals on block will send you into a recoil animation, this can leave you open unless you special cancel it (but for many characters their special cancels are ALSO unsafe so you have hard reads within hard reads)

it's hard to describe for me because I have a lot of trouble putting abstract concepts into words

but I could just describe some of the differences in the mechanics that affect neutral to give you an idea

such as

- walk speeds in ST and A2 are high compared to in modern SF
- throws are harder to avoid in ST and A2 (long throw range + less effective anti throw mechanics)
- pressure feels less "turn based" in A2 and ST
- normals in A2 and ST are better all around (more range, higher priority, good pushback on pokes in A2)
- fireballs are stronger in A2 and ST than in modern SF

Can you whiny faggots stop pretending like there is any chance of SFV dying, it is literally impossible. Capcom has fucked up entirely to this point and the tournament scene is as big as ever. With the character releases and patch at the end of the year it will be around as long as Capcom continues to support it.

Nah that wont happen. SFV's online couldnt get much worse and there are still a ton of people playing so any improvements will bring more people back/in. Also the playerbase not being split between consoles/versions like SF4 make it even longer lasting.

every yeah the smash bros audience (which dwarves SF scene at evo every year) gets bigger at evo

A3 Gief is one of the scrubbiest characters in SF history. You can legit scrub out mid tier players after an hour worth of play with Gief.
