The MLGS R2 projectile, both one handed and two handed, seems to only be able to partial parry, with a regular parry (grass crest) and a spell parry shield (Sacred Bloom shield). This means that a riposte is not possible. The weapon art can be parried, but the timing is a bit weird. I couldn't get the riposte off either, but I'm sure it's possible. More testing will be done tomorrow apparently, stay tuned.

If you are trying to parry, it is worse than anything with a real parry animation.
It is only better for getting a quick parry out in between attacks, good against ganks or big weapons that you want to escape

So I was an idiot and I downloaded vanilla Dark Souls II and then added all the DLC to it. Some of the SotFS additions were patched into the game so I've met Aldia.
I've beaten Dark Souls II twice now and I'm wondering what's different between my vanilla+patches+DLC game and the SotFS remake?
I hear enemies are psychic and swarm you from long-distance in SotFS.
How can I get Yuria to spawn? Do I have to use the 5 free levels? I really don't want to, can't I just kill him or get him to die another way?

Solaire is just a really forced and cringy meme by cuckonsoles because of the "if only i could be so grossly incandescent" linewhich honestly really hyped up him to be a cool character, but then he didn't deliver on that, becoming one more NPC that is just there.
The only other one who comes close, yet far away, from being memorable are the crestfallen role NPCs.

For DeS and to an extent DaS for many people, they had no expectations so even half-assed thing's were amazing or very interesting if it was a new experience.
For DaS2/BB/DaS3 we all have expectations of only the best parts of each game so if it slightly worse we shit on it.
That being said, anyone working on an official guide for the game is pure cancer since that's totally against the whole fucking experience.

God this pvp is fucking terrible. I just clocked 300 hours, I have 2 sl80 pvpers, one 100, and one 120. 100 seems the best so far, but it's also the worst of both 80 and 120 (80 is nothing but 1-shot weapon arts, 120 is nothing but tears+deep protection/power within+weapon buff). 7/10 people that summon me just fucking die effortlessly because they mindlessly trade or parryspam unparryable attacks, and the other 3 are gimmick weapon users that resort to spamming bombs/knives/etc when their gimmick fails, and this is unpunishable unless I use gundyr's 24/7.
Back to DaS2 I go. I know you people like to shit on that game, but god damn if the pvp wasn't leagues ahead of this shit. Longsword meta was pitifully easy to counter, poise and hyperarmor both worked flawlessly, just, god damn I can't even winning most duels in DaS3.

On PC I don't get summoned at all on my SL120. She's on NG+ and around grand archives, and I've tried by bonfires, on boss gates, and nothing.
I have nearly 1k hours in DaS1 on PC (probably less than that on ps3, maybe 100-200), nearing 1.5 on DaS2, and I'm just at 301 on DaS3 and I fucking hate it. I have no motivation to finish NG+, where in DaS1 I raced to +7, and in DaS2 I raced to ++ for wog and great chaos.
I don't love the PvE of DaS2, but fuck. I miss backstepping. I miss weapons having good movesets. I fuckin' miss animation cancelling. I miss doing pvp with shit that people enjoyed, not trash meme weapons that I can equip one ring or weapon for and absolutely decimate. The balance of this game is even worse than pre-1.05 DaS1 (I might be mixing this up with 1.06)
I'm just fucking angry. This game is so well designed, but it has the worst features of every game put together.

i liked the KF2/4 system best. the vast majority of the game you're hoofing it, but if you explore well enough you can at least warp to one or two important locations
but i guess it kind of also depends on the world, both of those games had massive interconnected ones like DaS1, the system wouldn't make much sense in a game with a world like DaS2/3.
the linear games should definitely have a no-warp approach though.

Carried a torch in his hand and a longsword in the other, so I swung at him to kill him and three direct swings halved his HP before he pulled Caestus out and parried me with the Hornet Ring, killing me instantly

Single pokes are too quick to reaction parry and faster than almost any other weapon I can think of if you try and trade.
The R2 has some insane range and hitbox on it & it doesn't exactly lack damage.
If I had a Halberd or something I suppose I could have played the range game, but that would be even easier to parry.I still beat most Estoc/Straighsword spammers when I invade, but I'm genuinely curious as to how you deal with good players using them.

You got that wrong, they are good now. In DS2 you did not even block while attacking with a greatshield (still did with medium shields for some reason)
In DS3 the shieldbash protects you while still dealing some damage.
