Free to play games are generally targetted towards tens and young adults. EVE has a target audience that is generally assumed to pay their own subscription fees. I don't think it would benefit from free to play nearly as much as other games and I think CCP is pretty firm on their stance of keeping on their current train tracks.

if you converted the entire market value of eve into isk and were able to buy unlimited resources with that isk, you would be able to build 15 palatines. A titan costs what, $3000? a palatine costs 200t. $4,000,000. four million USD. No one has that kind of money right now. They might sometime, but it will take some time to accumulate. And don't forget that isk alone isn't enough; the isk is only useful to buy resources that exist on the market.

Are you going to not die? For most people its a 12% increase in mining yield over the covetor. Protecting a hulk from certain death is like 90% paranoia. People will gank hulks if they see them. "Properly tanking" the hulk is counterproductive to using the hulk for extra mining yield. Its by far the most yolo mining ship.

I think its worth the investment and the risk. But I tend to mine with multiple accounts, with Orca boosts, in highsec islands in lowsec that lack stations in the middle of nowhere so people never come into system anyways.
I'd probably recommend the mackinaw though. I use the Hulk for my mining ops for different reasons than those that are obvious. The Hulk/Covetor is by far the easiest to multibox mine with because of the increased range and the fact that the yield is split between 3 asteroids. You basically rotate between dropping ore into the jetcan every 2 cycles, with machinaws you don't need jetcans but you have to switch asteroids more often and you don't have as much range to mine.

They can. I wrote several bots for other games, and while very inefficient, they still pulled off ten times more than a normal human could handle.
The clients don't have to run on the same PC, hell, they don't even have to be in the same country. Nothing's stopping them from reaching those numbers.

Restrictions create meaning. Free form DnD sucks, DnD with rules and restrictions and set systems are far more fun and interesting.
Of course, you cant play in whatever way you want. EVE just gives you options, and of those very many options, choose whatever you want, you can even sometimes do something novel.
The SP system at the start kinda sucks. Skills like CPU Management and Surgical Strike suck in my opinion. But some mechanic for specialization and comitment are good. Thats just like, basics of game design.

basically, if you get fucked by someone, either they are a brand new character with no way of telling beforehand (be wary of young characters) - or that person has done similar things before and if you had looked for the evidence, you could have avoided the getting fucked.
and on the other hand, people are smart enough to realize that helping a promising newbro might at least increase the number of good players on the server, and at best could directly contribute to their personal or corp goals if they end up recruiting you and you turn out to be an asset.

People are happy to help other players actually. If someone kills me in EVE I always PM them and ask for advice on what I did wrong, and every single time I've gotten a nice conversation and advice back. Most players will be happy to provide free shit for newbros playing EVE because they know how much rather insignificant amounts of wealth make a difference to a new player. Most people make easily over 40 mil an hour doing the most poofag of jobs in EVE.

All-Out got tons of their shit stolen, but I feel like after you get passed getting scammed theres a sort of mutual bond of understanding that grows on you. Its like in wormhole space. People in wormhole space will kill you and take your shit without remorse, but they're just as likely to help you get back to your hole if you get lost.

I will concede that in the weeks/months of live time on SISI I always felt they could stand to have their warm up time extended. By comparison super remote EWAR takes an extremely long time.
Also I said a moderately buffer tanked super, I wouldn't rule out strategic cynos that would allow titans to position for hits on multiple regular caps. Carriers at least can't take more than 1 or 2.
The actual problem is that CCP designed it for use in fleet fights, but forgot that sometimes people will warp as a group to a single target like a stargate/station meaning they get perfectly clumped for it with nothing else they can do.

I fucked up and dropped my standings with an agent under -2, so I can no longer take missions from her (despite having a high enough faction standing). Is there a way to raise my standings towards this specific agent when I can't do missions for her? Aside from raising my Diplomacy skill.

It's standard procedure for doing level 5 missions. You raise faction standings to 7+, which lets you decline a ton of missions, probably 100s. However you need to keep the agent standing over -2, because if it drops below that agent standing overrides faction standing.
I'd love to know for sure if doing missions for a different agent in the same corp will help, before I drop corp and go do missions in highsec like a pubbie.

What do you want to fly? Pick a ship that exemplifies that role. So, if you want to fly fast tackle, pick the stilleto, if you want to do logi, pick the Scythe, etc.
Open up that ship in EVE, go to the mastery tab, and learn skills there.

I used to live in a wormhole. There aren't many fleet battles during normal day-to-day life. Mostly just small gang shit. Someone rolls into your hole, you brawl with them a little.
Its like a mixture of Mad Max and Bushido. Fight anyone you find, but don't be a dick. If we dumpstered someone in our hole we'd let their pods go instead of bubblefucking the connections and combat probing down the remaining ships. Its not like nullsec where you play for keeps, you win and then you show good sportsmanship and let the losers go home. Being a shitter in wormhole space will lead to other wormhole entites ganging up on you... unless you're big enough to be a shitter without worrying about people coming at you.

Then join All-Out or Pandemic Horde.
Or ho to Solitude and look for in industry corp if you're into that.
