Investing in crusader for the first time this season. Apparently thorn builds are the best, but those sound like boring play styles to me. I should be able to coast by on a nuke/akkhan style for most of my journey to Conqueror or at least T10 with proper ancients, yeah?

Can't decide between WD and DH. Have never really done anything with either so both would be fresh.
Marauder seems like it would springboard me up faster, but thats like an hour saved, tops.
WD seems kind of fun because exploding chicken build for TX and Garg for high GRs.
DH supposedly has the single fastest TX clear build though.

It's because there's no reason to play this season. No new non-cosmetic items. No new builds. No new areas. The only thing you could say to justify it is that you can get a stash tab but I'm not playing a rerun of season 5 just for a stash tab.

Not really accurate. A lot of sets got huge buffs to bring them more in line with others, meaning, if you like a specific set that wasn't "viable" last season, it probably is now. I mean, yeah, nothing "new", but if you like D3 enough to play it, this is as good a time as any.

For a while, but its not really much damage reduction. Its completely reliant on your shields, which are basically just extra effective health, which is not going to be very high, because you don't even have 50% overall damage reduction. Most builds that do even TX have at least two 50% sources, and thats for melee. You will likely need more from somewhere.

Special snowflake builds are fun, and can get you to TX if they aren't full retard, but getting the stash tabs is limited to about 10 builds per class, at most. Snowflake builds with only 1 or 2 synergistic legendaries isn't going to cut it.

How is Demon Hunter this season?
I notice that Marauder is the Sentry Hunter build. First character was DH in 1.0. Tried to make a phys build but the pre-smart loot grind was too much for me.

I usually end up doing that on 2-4 characters per season before burning out. Usually top out in the 30s or low 40s on GRs too and go on hiatus for the rest of the season.

DH is pretty solid. The EASIEST class for one of the challenges, which is killing a fuckload of enemies on a bounty chest, also probably the fastest TX rift class which is another challenge. Also has the strongest set for a fresh 70 so they can hop into higher difficulties quicker.
At the highest end, other classes are a bit better but DH is nothing to scoff at.

Now there's a sliding scale of difficulty so you can play on juuuust the right amount, Torment 8.333 if you want, so playing hardcore doesn't matter, everyone just plays juuuust shy of whatever could possibly kill them. How are monk and demon hunter this season?
I was thinking of going Wizard but noticed that non of the top wizards are using Delsere. It's mostly Firebird or the other two. Monk seems to be able to go far with Inna, and then at least uses some parts while grouping. Demon Hunter looks like it's either Marauder or Unhallowed, and then just doesn't really exist in groups.

Depends on how you mean. Every class can do all the challenges and wreck up through GR100, but some classes can push a bit harder than others.
DH is probably the easiest class to push out the stash tab with though, so might want to go with that if that is your goal. Just depends on your plan.

Inna's is probably the best for that then. Good in groups. Good solo. Can push pretty high Grifts. And you get a level 70 set weapon with it, so don't even have to craft/farm one when you hit 70. A very safe overall pick. ONLY issue is that it ISNT super fast, but neither is the DH set. Both classes have to farm up another setup for speed clears.

This build has no cooldowns
Slow time has no cooldown because of your set and teleport gets resets with illusionist which you should run instead.
Also you should just get in a grift 20 and get your 6pc. You don't even have to complete it in time so you can die all you want. Then remove either arcane orb or explosive blast because you don't need both and you will need the survivability of magic weapon deflection.

Pretty much this. Magic weapon deflection, buff up with ice armor, teleport, slow time, barrier blades and either triple explosive blast or arcane orb with orbit, depending on your 1h and source. Unstable scepter and/or triumvirate - orb, wand of woh and/or orb of infinite depth - blast. Then grab everything that buffs your blades like shame of delsere , fragment of infnity or depth diggers. Spectral blade only procs on hit effects once but it doesn't matter since it hits like 5 times per second with all the attack speed buffs.

They directly buffed tal and firebird sets. Read the patch notes. Tal basically gets a free bonus stack at 4 stacks and firebird damage buffs have been more than doubled so its ridiculous now. DMO got a small rework of 4pc but it doesn't increase damage. Twister and the corner stacking meta got nerfed too so the bubbles are less amazing since you have to move around now.

Totally talking outta my ass -didn't participate in Season6 yet, nor have many knowledge about Wizard on skill specs- so bear with me. You may give a try to Energy Twister-Gale Force and Arcane Orb-Scorch, then you grab a Gesture of Orpheus with fire skill damage bonus roll from cube, complimenting them.
You keep mobs slowtimed with Orpheus' cooldown bonus; so, unless they're high tier elites who can shrug off Slow Time, they take optimized damage from firewalls of ArcOrb. Just you may wanna hunt for Triumvirate as well. Good luck.

If you put topaz there you might get slight resistance bonus AND damage. Survivability comes with swapping unusable stats for more useful affixes one by one. In your case it's resistance to all; at least like on 4-5 pieces so you remove Diamonds and put Topaz in there.

Between leoric's crown, cain set and getting lucky enough to find a signet, you can sit on a free 150% experience bonus for most of the leveling experience. I'd go with the Endless Walk (Traveler's Pledge Amulet, Compass Rose Ring) set. It surely fits what you lack, it improves your damage when you channel standing and mitigates incoming damage when you run. Your Tal Rasha amulet doesn't synergize with anything also lacks a socket and Justice Lantern on Wizard seems useless to me.

I have no idea about how your build works; but do you think it would get better if you cube Etched Sigil and use Firebird's Eye since source itself also offers fire skill damage bonus? Then you get rid of RoRG in cube and swap it for Halo of Arlyse or something better in future. Without sucking effect of Smoldering Core for Meteors you can still inflict shitload of damage by simply casting it after Black Hole on affected mobs.

Okay I guess, but I doubt you'd need that unless you seriously lack on life regeneration department. Get a socketed Traveler's Pledge and look for a Bane of the Powerful. BoP would surely make things better when you cast Black Hole upon a large pack of mobs, also offers a slow aura. As for your third gem choice when you got a socketed Traveler's; I think it's a matter of choice but most people go with something they can proc DoT with.

You keep all your gear and the paragon levels that guy earned get added to your non seasonal paragon levels (your characters share paragon levels). Make a seasonal character. Most NS players are bots anyway because Blizzard doesn't care about NS leaderboards. Hell I'm logging in right now so if you're on EU I can boost you and get you some decent gear.
Upgrading rares is better than gambling for weapons, right? Because if I gamble for a weapon it'll be any 1h or 2h etc, but upgrading guarantees it'll always be a sword, or axe, or whatever I'm upgrading?
What about for jewelry? I need a Convention. Is it better to upgrade for jewelry or gamble? Or should I just spend whatever resources I have available, because it's a crap shoot either way?

Jewelry comes out to be generally about the same for both BS and cubing.
It costs more than armor, but you can't target roll on cube like weapons.
So just decide for yourself which would you rather burn, BS or DBs.
I generally like gambling for jewelry once I don't need to gamble for armor as much. Burning up BS is a little easier on my soul than wiping out my DBs.

I disagree, upgrade boost you get from upgrading an armor to ancient version is rather minuscule in benefit (other than LoN builds) compared to getting the right jewelry.
I would say the priorities are:
correct jewelry >= ancient weapon (straight 25% increase in damage) > ancient armor
Going from an ok rolled piece of armor to an ancient is like 3~5% increase in benefits.
Whereas having or not having the right legendary ring can make a different of night and day.
Gamble away.

Having or not having say, CoE, Endless, or F/R is a difference of 50~100% damage.
Upgrading 4 pieces of your armor to ancients nets you less than 20% increase, and cost the same as an amulet.

Actually it's even worse. Considering that getting ancient version of your target gear is less than 10% compared to normal, the BS cost involved is far higher shooting for a single ancient armor than it is shooting for any normal jewelry.
Only Ancients one should worry about is weapon. All the other ancients are far lower in priority than actually getting your gear working fully.

Class is really about what you enjoy playing than the "potential" of that class in leaderboards, look at some videos of every class, just put 2.4.1 monk or wd or whatever, see if the playstyle of the different sets, in special the set that you get free seems fun for you and play that. remember that playstyle is fixed by the set that you gear for, it's really different in some classes for example Raekor charge barb or Wastes whirlwind barb, just look at the sets of every class and see if that convinces you.
